  • Probably none of us. Not for that, anyway. It's Leviticus, I get it, it's from the bible. Now just shut up already o_o

  • I just love it when people try to use Leviticus as an excuse to hate on gays, because unless you're Jewish, Leviticus shouldn't actually mean all that much to you. Old Testament, duh.

Leviticus 17:10 - "'Suppose someone eats meat that still has blood in it. It does not matter whether he is an Israelite or an outsider. I will turn against him if he eats it. I will cut him off from his people.'"

So, hey, I saw tons of people do that the other day at a restaurant. Who's going to hell now?

    Probabl

  • @1Hyorinmaru0 On top of that Jesus said to love everybody.

  • milk

    that is all

  • I'm not completely gay, but this inspires me. I'm proud of who I am, and I'm glad that this terrific man stood up for all of us.

  • @matthewr3680 I'm not gay at all and I find this very inspiring.

  • I love this.

  • this man taught me more about being brave and kind than my parents did. and I`ve never met him.

  • Grazie Milk, Grazie di tutto <3

  • " If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door " ^_^

  • "all men are created equal, No matter how hard you try.. You can never erase those words"

    -Harvey Milk

  • @Ashenfly Sure you can..just hand me an eraser

  • This is so powerful, he was such an incredible man. We really need someone like Harvey to take a stand today, to fill his shoes. Because he was such an inspirational person and it sucks that he had to be taken from this world. Everyone should see this video, i don't see how it couldn't get to you. Why does it matter who someone else loves? You can't choose who you fall in love with. People need to open their hearts and listen to these words.

  • Next fight is ageism and also fix the remnants of sexism/racism/heterosexism/cisgender"ism"/ and able-bodiedism. Man, still a long way to go but we've gotten pretty far already.

  • the hope division - stick to your guns

  • i love you i love you

  • All sexualities are in all people.

  • Dairy products increase cholesterol levels.

  • @karezza6 Bull shit

  • Why can't we all be equal? It does not matter if you're a woman, a man, black, white, heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transexual etc.

    LOVE <3

  • Got a little choked up.

  • I'm hotrosexual but his message is powerful. Without hope a man cannot exist.

  • @greenbelter123 you're what now?

  • @loveisthelaw999 hetrosexual why you ask? Just saying this is a powerful message.

  • how sad is it that today that same fear is out there that one's family may kick a child out on the street for being gay/

  • Thank you Harvey for giving me hope.

  • @staticon1976You want "accepting"? Try accepting disabled people first. They need love just as much IF NOT MORE than gay people. Fact, reality get on with it get over it.

  • Why are there not more representatives of the gay community that are taken seriously and well spoken like milk? Now its all lady gaga and drag queens, and people who are homophobic feel like they cant relate to them. If women or black people dressed like freaks to get their rights it would never work, so why is this community so different?

  • @LexDollar noadays, AIDS is more commonly transmitted through heterosexual sex than homosexual, the truth hurts.

  • How does me stating absolute fact and truth mean I'm the ignorant one? You want to dispute it, dispute it but don't give me these smart ass responses, ok? Truth hurts, deal with it in your own way by yourselves.

  • @LexDollar I can't believe you can say that. It is true that there was a massive breakout of the AIDS epidemic in the gay community in SF in the 80s. A vast majority of them died beore AZT. Perhaps Milk would have contracted AIDS and died, but to say that gays in general are the most ignorant to sexual diseases is false. Back then everyone was just as ignorant, straight people just used protection so they didnt get pregnant. Nowadays everyone is equally learned. Get your facts straight.

  • @LexDollar yeaah, for ignorant people like yourself

  • @LexDollar Haha the truth is you're so ignorant it's not worth disputing it sunshine.

  • Don't Ask, Don't Tell is dead! I hope Harvey is smiling from heaven.

  • @outinsider i know he is

  • @staticon1976 that's if he chooses to believe in your religion. or in your god, who supposedly condemns his creations to eternal damnation for choosing to love whomever they desire.

RIP Harvey Milk. You have not only made San Francisco the wonderful, accepting city it is today, but you have inspired millions. I may not be gay, but I have tremendous respects and support their struggle 100%. :)

  • @staticon1976 haha you don't really believe this bs, do you?

  • @staticon1976 I hope this comment is some sort of joke or a highly elaborate sarcasm, because there can't be such ASSHOLES still living on this planet.

  • I just saw the movie - I'm straight and it had me in tears - doesn't matter who you are - straight, gay , or any color - Harvey stood up for all to live a life free of fear and hate. We need more like him - as in both men and women. It just amazes me that people like Bryant could have such hate in their soul for another human being - she must be a very miserable person

  • lump in my throat listening to his words :-(

  • What a guy!! The world really is a poorer place without him!

  • What a beautiful man with such an important message for all the courageous LGBT kids out there x

  • Where was that speech when I was in high school???...We got to hear King's and JFK's speeches and this one is just as inspiring...This is what we need to be listening too. He was talking for anyone who does have a voice and who can not JUST BE...

  • @0555722999 Shut the fuck up and suck a big donkey balls you little gap-toothed rat

  • @0555722999 stop fucking tolling and get a life :D

  • @0555722999 A dead bigot is a good bigot.

  • @0555722999 You'll suffer for that, just like my uncle did.

  • Now, the most of his hope come true, and same-sex marriage can be legal in his hometown New York State today.

  • @acterv Yeah, U.S. is down six states... forty-four to go.

    ^_^’

  • This is all wrong- This is really really wrong....I swear it's badly wrong.

  • @fatizoo1000

i'M SURE WHAT YOU TALKING ABOUT BUT IF YOU SAYING HOMOSEXURALITY IS WRONG YOU WRONG!

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 Yes it's wrong. Oh God! Harvey Milk looks like a monster. Errfff.......

  • This Man had a beautiful soul and a strong character. He was so brave and it's so sad he had to die because of one mans frustration. He had the will and power to change the world or at least a big part of it. Even in this 'modern' world there are too much homofobic, ignorant and paranoia people who make stupid comments on YouTube and in public. Bless You, Harvey Milk.

  • @QueenOfTheHighway71 He was certainly a brave man, we just need more of him in this world.

  • Equalty for ever

  • My brother is gay and to all you haters out there - get a life

  • @Cigolone1 You are obviously a Closet Case if your watching Harvey Milk video clips on YouTube so when your done looking for sex in airport bathrooms - look in the mirror Queer

  • This speech just totally made my day and made me feel more confident about who I am. I was born this way, so I'm not going to let other people tell me that it's not alright. Their opinions are worth nothing to me. What matters is that my family loves me no matter what as do my friends and they will accept me for who I am. I wish there were more people like Milk today. R.I.P. Harvey. Thanks for your words of wisdom. :) -3

  • gay is NOT a choice and Therefor NOT A SIN! if i was born green and everybody thought it was disgusting and wrong would i go to hell for something i had NO control over? being gay is HARD, not a choice and not a sin, dont believe in some guys writing in the bible, god or jesus did not write it directly, there could have been verses add or taken out or modifed you simply dont know.god bless EVERYONE gay straight black white hispanic asians EVERYONE Who is GOOD in this world god bless them & Milk

  • @biasedreporting You can believe whatever you want buddy, but posting your messages on video's of HM is so wrong! So please post on your own page and leave those of us who value what Harvey said and stood for the hell alone!!

  • gay or not you got to admire what this man did and what he stood for I saw a doc. on him and I also saw the sean penn movie I cried like a baby watching both of them its a shame that the guy that killed him didn't get life in prison

  • Mr Milk! your mine and many other people hero!! cant believe that such homophobic people would be so unhumain to kill such a great, inspiring man!!

  • Harvey Milk is a Great American Hero!

    He's my hero.

This video made me cry, tears of happiness, sadness and...anger at the homophobia that killed Harvey.

    The struggle continues.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @biasedreporting How this applies to me is anyone's guess, as I've never lain with a female.

Look ass-wipe, the only abomination is idiots like you who take the words of an ancient book as the be-all and end-all of human life, ignoring the other great Scriptures of the world, as well as scientific and (in the case of homosexuality) psychological research and conclusions.

Now, go crawl back under your 6,000 year-old rock.

  • @biasedreporting : So serious and heinous that it's actually, to be fair, not quite so clearly condemned, but only vaguely, once or twice at most. So serious a sin is it, so special is the punishment that God himself dishes out for it, that it's not featured in the commandments. Does Leviticus not at one point condemn to hell those who would grow a beard and then later on says the precise opposite. Was he on drugs? Or was he just not real, like the rest of the bullshit in the Bible? Grow up.

  • @biasedreporting The bible is fictional and contradictory. Genesis 1:12 says that there was vegetation on earth before mankind and Genesis 2:5 says it's the other way round.

There is no God and if there is he's not very nice. I consider myself far a better person by accepting everyone for who they are (as long as they don't hurt others) rather than taking seriously some crazy ancient book full of absolute gibberish and therefore alienating and hating others.

  • @zacneeds lol...well you can enjoy milking Harvey then....my job has been a success here. thanks

  • @biasedreporting Maybe if you actually had a job you wouldn't spend so much time spewing homophobic bile on YouTube. You're not rallying any soldiers for your cause; you're just making yourself look stupid.

  • @streetswell Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;..."multitasking" look it up and learn something...a mind is a terrible thing to waste

  • @biasedreporting So, "judge not, lest ye be judged... unless he's gay, in which case kill the bastard"? Jesus would be so proud.

  • @streetswell lol..I didnt write the bible......take it up with God not me. You may try analyzing something first...I just play devils advocate, thats all. I personally dont think most people deserve what they have...but oh well thats the way the ball bounces and we all grow form our own experiences.

  • @biasedreporting ps..no one ever said kill anyone...those where your harsh words, not mine are the bibles...like I said analyze it first and dont let your emotions get in the way...btw being proud of your sex is just stupid to begin with... hence the slang word "gay"

  • @biasedreporting God didn't write the Bible either - it was written by a bunch of semi-literates who thought the Earth was flat. Do you really care that much about the codes and mores of 2,000 years ago, or do you just want someone to tell you that you're justified in (apparently) hating everyone and everything?

  • @biasedreporting Try the red letters;

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

  • @biasedreporting The bible condems inocent people for living free? then so be it. This is who we are and we are not gona change just because you don't like it. You say god created Adam and Eve yes? the world too right? If so then he has allsoe created cancer, started wars, hate, bigotry and more. So if god created eveything he created gays too. Not to mention the bible has been chaged so many times through out history. It's just a book, get of your knee's and get a life, see the world or something.

  • @biasedreporting Wait so now you agree with me? were you just trolling me?

  • Harvey Milk was a great man. He did many wonderful and inspiring things for so many different people. It was tragic when he died. Love and truth guided his principles. A truly excellent human being.

  • Such an inspiring man. Even as a straight Democrat, I would have proudly stood by your side, Mr. Milk. R.I.P. You will never, ever be forgotten. <3

  • I was there n the day and heard the battle cry "ANITA BRYANTS GOTTA GO! HEY HEY HEY HO HO HO!"

  • this man knew that by putting himself in the spotlight as he did, he would become a target and potential martyr for the cause. he willingly put himself out there to get us what we have today. we owe him a debt of gratitude. I for one.. am inspired and wish I could be as brave as him. sadly I'm not. i dont want to die. i'm ashamed of this fact. but it is what it is.

  • I've recently started learning bout him in my history class. It's really sad. My teacher played us the assassination clip from the movie and after that I'm dieing to watch the whole movie. When I was younger I never understood what being gay was. I'm so happy I grew out of it! I understand everything now and no longer am ignorant about it lol. It's funny people, around me are changing because they now care to listen and realize who they hurt when they discriminate:)

  • ive only just heard of harveys work rip harvey xxx

  • i miss him...he's the greatest gay man i've ever seen.....rest in heaven and have a great new life...>.<

  • Rest in Peace Harvey Milk

    (1930-1978)

    "Thanks"

  • It's always the revolutionaries that are assasinated.

The did what they knew to be right, people didn't agree.

    Freaking ridiculous.

    I'm sad now.

  • The saying at the end was used in a song called Wolves at the Door by a band called Stick to Your Guns. And Harvey was right there is hope for a better world. RIP Harvey.

  • Harvey Milk is an American hero.

No different from people like Martin Luther King or Helen Keller.

"He freed a lot of people but it seem the good they die young/

I just looked around and he's gone."

  • @unfortunatebeam I agree totally. It's terrible that he's not more well known.

  • @homeskilletbiscuit49 - what "giant spoiler"? The movie portrays the tragically cut short life of an inspirational man who was ahead of his time. There's no "giant spoiler" about that.

  • Harvey Milk was such an inspiration. It's a tragedy that his life was cut so short.

  • GAY RIGHTS NOW!

  • Be the change you wish to see in the world, echo Harvey's words. There is still so much change that needs to happen, so much discrimination and cruelty against difference. It is no different from racism. It is prejudice, based primitively on difference. Do not be one of the haters, do not perpetuate discrimination.

Thankyou Harvey Milk for being a brave, wonderful man

  • When you make hateful remarks, calling someone a "fag" or "homo" or any words that debase someone's life, you are hurting someone's life. Ever wonder why more gay teens commit suicide than heterosexual ones? Because they are taunted to the likes of these comments. And, if anyone who does that calls themselves "pro-life" and says that, they do not deserve the title.

  • @outinsider Well that's ridiculous as if those teens thought and really felt inside that their lifestyle choice was right they would be solidly convicted in their belief and thus not feel bad or commit suicide. Yet the real fact is that they know and feel it is wrong and perverse, and as they come to realize they are indulging in selfish sexual acts and depravity the guilt and shame roles in and that is why they commit suicide.

  • @Mycterizian

Are you solidly convicted in your own beliefs and don't feel bad that you have them? Can you honestly say that if you are comfortable in your own skin that you wouldn't berate others for being themselves homosexual or heterosexual?Whether you feel comfortable in your own beliefs, however misguided they are, or not, it is not a matter of who they are, it is a matter of how society views them for who they are. Our words alone causes so many lives lost through suicide.

  • @outinsider It is actions that causes suicide not words. If these people were not subject to participating in vile perverted selfish sexual relationships, and caught up in lust, and promiscuity they wouldn't feel so bad about their actions and thus create their own mental illness, as they know deep in their hearts that what they are partaking in is not right, selfish, and lustful with no love attached to their acts at all. It's all about feeling good and thus it doesn't last. Welcome to hell.

  • @Mycterizian

Words are actions, they are verbal actions that can harm or help a person depending on how it is taken. You want to talk vile, perverted, selfish sexual relationships, look at domestic abuse cases and child pedophilia, in which 95% of those are heterosexuals. You want to talk promiscuity, look at all those heterosexual men and women who constantly cheat on their heterosexual partners because of lust. But, so long as they are heterosexual they shouldn't feel bad, right?

  • @Mycterizian

A heterosexist society creates intolerance and inacceptance towards a sexual orientation it does not understand, and creates the idea that anything that sexually normative for an individual who is not heterosexual they must be mentally sick because they do not conform. Those that thrive on this bullying to create a world "safe from deviants" are selfish as you are being, and they should know that deep in their hearts is not love for one's neighbor, but hate.

  • @outinsider THere are mentally sick heterosexuals as well. Listen the bottom line when you participate in sexual deviant and perverted behavior it is wrong. Having selfish sex, and your life revolving around lust is the reason so many people are lacking and depressed, as they know inside they are missing something. People don't like homosexuals because most of them are flamboyant perverts that have many sexual partners and engage in selfish sexual acts, the same goes for heterosexuals.

  • @Mycterizian

How many homosexuals do you know to say that that is how they are? Also, have you even had sex voluntarily?

  • most of the people get so blind because of the hate and never realize that they are wrong

  • it's outrageous to read such disrespectful comments. You homophobes, say what you think elsewhere, and show some dignity. It's indecent to comment with such hateful words to the words of a man who has been shot dead. Shame on you.

  • I tear up when I listen to this speech: what an incredible human being. I first heard about him when I watched the film "Milk" about 6 months ago and the admiration I have gathered for him is impossible for me to describe...

" I know you cannot live on hope alone, but without it life is not worth living"

I've noticed that "Roldulffff" has commented on several HM videos and I think it is desperately sad for such hateful, ignorant things to be said about such a hero. May Harvey rest in peace

  • "...all men are created equal. No matter how hard you try, you can never erase those words." what a guy. what a marvelous guy.

  • @tenniselbowfoot gives me chills every time

  • @tenniselbowfoot

    *gay.

(probably already been done but whatever).

  • Wow this was amazing, I got teary eyed just watching it. RIP Harvey.

  • I'm not gay, but respect the gay community. They no how to have a good time, and are great people. What Harvey did was incredible.

  • @Roldulffff yes he was. and so much more intelligent that you will ever be. Open your mind.

  • 32 years ago today, Harvery Milk was assassinated, but yet his legacy still lives on. R.I.P Harvey <3

  • thous ppl make all dies with adis

  • Harvey Milk is a hero.

  • May you rest in peace mate

  • God bless Harvey Milk, we are still continuing to fight for gay rights all over the world, Harvey helped to begin paving the way. We just need to keep fighting!!!!!!!!

  • .. and tell our enemies that they may take our lives...but they'll never take...OUR HOPE!!...

  • He was one badass man. He knew he was going to die and he just kept fighting.

  • This man changed the world.

  • Inspirational... <33333

  • he grew up like 3 miles from me

  • thank you harvey milk :-)

  • GREAT MAN.....THANK YOU....

  • Harvey Milk is a great man, not only did he speak for gay people, but for all people a true leader.

  • I am one of the many people who were greatly inspired by these films about the wonderful human, Harvey Milk. After watching the latest movie, "Milk," I was in awe at the incredible courage taken by this man and the members of the gay rights movement. To me, Harvey Milk is a name that should be spoken about more often. He is just as much as a martyr for civil rights as Martin Luther King, J.r., Malcolm X, Mahatma Gandhi, and many others. He left us, so that we could walk in his footsteps. R.I.P.

  • Shawn Penn sounded like a gay I am Sam in the movie. Not quite like the real guy.

  • California still loves and supports the values of freedom and equality Milk represented, and we're getting closer to having the equality we all deserve

  • This speech is on the level of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream", if you ask me.

RIP Harvey Milk. A great man - and a icon in the history.

I myself have a homosexual friend, and - i will keep on having he's back when people will try to offend him by that fact.

The hate of other sexuality's are just.. Confusing to me.

  • and when will the killings stop?

  • A real American hero.

  • I recently watched a documentary "For The Bible Tells Me So", and remembered Harvey...please check it out, and always remember...

  • i watched his movie and i cryed i wish he was never killed because this nation would be great with his as some kind of leder and i love every thing he standed for

  • Such inspiring words. His vision for what could be is exactly why even now we all have to keep fighting for what is right every day, for equality. Because indeed what is life without hope.

  • Happy Birthday Harvey

  • Happy Birthday Harvey

  • Look up Jack McKinley, Havery Milks 16 year old boy lover that Milk had when he was 33.

  • AMEN Harvey.. You are missed...BUT because of your vision... your passion and love for our community, we NOW have ten of you... our rights and equality we shall see one day will prove your name one day again! :) Never in USA history has a civil rights issue ever lost.... just ask womens lib, just ask MLK jr, You Harvey paved the path...thanks for your love and leadership! :) WE WILL WIN THIS! HOPE!

  • a true visionary ...this man
