  • @55honor you mis-read my message, of course i know it's scottish, i played it a wedding for a scottish couple 6/7months ago, was merely being complimentary of the song, i think i found out Loch Lomond was in scotland when i visited it in 1987, you shouldn't make assumptions, and i think you'll find Irish music has a far greater global reach than Sottish.

  • You know you live in scotland when you hear of runrig:D!

  • @kimmiebabii1997

I'm from Denmark, and i grew up listening to Runrig..

  • @Jacobwinther1 Me as well, i were to my first concert with themm as a 12 year old!

  • @kimmiebabii1997 Not really... My aunt listens to it in Australia.. Shes clearly not in Scotland..

  • @kimmiebabii1997

    Is that so?

Well, I happen to be Dutch and married to a Glasgow ''lassie'' and just LOVE this.

  • @kimmiebabii1997 I wish more people knew aboout them here, Im American and I think they are amazing. I love this, and when they sing in Gaelic even though I cant understand a word, it is the feeling!

  • i love this Song Love my Country with all my Heart

  • fucking epic, written in 1745, what an interpretation, don't normally post thoughts on sites but this has to be 1 of the most uplifting songs i've ever heard

  • Visit NEWSNET SCOTLAND for the truth

  • What an absolutely awesome anthem, my country produces awesome traditional, folk and rock, the awesome Ireland, this song has everything, perfect

  • This has to be the best song ever? Whenever it gets played at the end of a Ceilidh, dance, dj set, or any kind of gathering event. There is never a soul left off the dancefloor. Dont think of the cities, think of the highlands. Scotland is a lovely place.

  • So Proud To Call Myself Scottish Simply Because of This ONe Song, Alba Gu Brath!

  • Makes a crackin' song on which to end a party instead of "New York, New York"

  • AT 3:13 looks minted :D

  • SCOTLAND !!!!

  • This song rounded off my school's Halloween disco. What a night.

  • I am English. I am 15. I have no interest in Scotland or Scottish history. I would LOVE to have been in that crowd!! A beautiful song from a magnificent band!!

  • @9989126 Yeah right, really you luuuuuuuuv scotland. Its the Scottish magic, its alright to admit it ;-)

  • 32 people took the the high road lol

  • live scottish, speak scottish, die scottish, love scotland forever

  • amazing

  • @TheSabremesh If we have no sense of humour, then why the fuck was Frankie Boyle being targeted by an English based campaign to get him off air because of his awesome jokes that were 'too offensive' for the English audience.

    Fail.

  • @TheSabremesh You know, despite your stuck-up, pompus attitude and the way you all act like you're so superior to us Scots, we still choose to try and act nicely to you people. I don't know why, you're all retarded assholes who have nothing better to do than comment on Scottish videos just to feel important. Now either shut yer mouth and enjoy this amazing music or bugger off back to your chav infested hole you limey godshite.

  • I've never been so proud to be Scottish! This is the only time I've ever seen a crowd sing so perfectly in time with each other. It's awe inspiring.

  • Scotsman and fucking proud.

  • @BlueWaffleIsAwesome Scot's Lass and always will be <3

  • CLASSSS TUNE

  • @TheSabremesh Fair point but...i would rather be that than a roman, norman, whoever the fuck else conquered your pussy ass nation, mixed up no idea what my national identity is fuckwit... like yourelf! Thats why YOUR coutry is in chaos....you have no idea who the fuck you actually are....for all our faults at least we do. Now crawl back into your council estate run by 'insert ethnic minority here' and watch some countdown to ease the pain whilst sipping on a nice cup of earl grey......plonker

  • @tommytherig1981 Hey, I undestand there is an argument here, but there is no need to use language like "plonker" ;) In all seriousness, please don't let this guys views reflect on the rest of England. I'm living in Scotland right now, and I have nothing but respect for everyone. They are the most fun people to be around.

  • emilys armys version was way better

  • @Azz2161 dull cliche, i know plenty of english runrig fans

  • @MrEvertonrob Its a very Scottish song. The majority of the tartan army dislike the English. But thanks for keeping me right ;)

  • @MrEvertonrob Its a very Scottish song. The majority of the tartan army dislike the English. But thanks for keeping me right ;)

  • always gets me inside everytime I hear this tune

  • Did Donnie run for Parliament on a Labour Party ticket? It would be kinda cool if he did - Mick Jagger was actively recruited in the 1960s to run for a safe Labour seat and become a party leader. (He didn't for a variety of reasons - main one being that he preferred "brown sugar" to political power.) If he had run, he might have been PM instead of his friend Tony Blair. Anyway, did Donnie run for MP?

  • Best part in my opinion 4:18 to 5:00

  • I sure miss Donnie singing with them.. Bruce is VERY good.. but Donnie was special.

  • I send my heart to scotland... scotburn43@gmail.com

  • Talk about waving your cultural flag...a Scottish band, the core of which are native gaelic speakers from the Hebrides, playing a 250 year old Scottish song to an audience of wildly enthusiastic young Scots...BRILLIANT! Sad to see that 31 people got lost on the 'low road'.

  • Damn - 250 years it is, but 'tis as a fleeting' minute. Culloden seems like only yesterday ...

  • so cool awesome voice

  • This song always get's me so emotional.

I was born in England, but my whole mothers side is from South Uist in the outer Hebrides.

And every time we had a wedding, family reunion, gathering this song was always played.

It's such a beautiful song, and Runrigs rendition truly is brilliant.

You definitely know your Scottish when this song puts a spell on you.

  • ahahha the audience sucks ass

  • You know you have scottish blood in you when the goosebumps arrive at 2:59

  • Absolutely amazing song but when the audience were singing they were SOO out of time! He even had to help them along! :D

  • Amzing, fantastic, wonderful song! Ditch the wanker they got to take Donnie's place, he will never be replaced

  • 2002 Wales vs Scotland! Bill Mclarens last game commentating. The whole crowd sang Loch Lomond and He's A Jolly Good Fellow for Bill. Backed by a Welsh Choir. Cant hear either song now without getting goosebumps or getting tears in my eyes

And that one time was when me and him were in the car, it was I think the only time I've ever seen him break down and cry.
