@lruspi Be sure to buy my book Rifle Bedding Book available on my websites. That will safeguard a quality job. Rifle Bedding Book, is only 1/2 price of the Bedding Kit.
So do u just drill out the screw holes after. Ive ben shooting for a while now and i like target shooting and long range shooting but im new to glass bedding
The music accompaniment is great! Very calm and peaceful. Although, I wasn't calm and peaceful when I bedded my first Remington action (brand new 700 Classic) in 1980. The was no internet to help me then, no YouTube either. Great video.
Nice video, but you did not show us how to prepare stock and barreled action before doing this. Is it possible to make some video where will you show that?
@Haneson I am advertising the Rifle Bedding Book, to sell it. It is comprehensive Instructions in Glass Bedding Bolt Action Rifles, pillar bedding method. Avilable at my websites.
@alenleroc You uncultured swine, that's An Der Schonen, Blauen Donau (On the Beautiful, Blue Danube). It's a classic orchestra waltz that was made famous by the movie classic, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Get some knowledge and sophistication, you unrefined lump!
@YTSolidLifters It’s 'An der schönen blauen Donau'. 'Der' is an article while 'schön' and 'blau' are adjectives. You don’t write them in capital letters. And in this correlation you don’t put a comma in between.
If your keyboard is missing the ‘ö’ letter you have to use “oe” instead. Othervise it would give the word a different meaning.
@detectiveinspekta After hardening of bedding compound 24 hours later, the holes are drilled out, (widened) just a little over the size of screws. The guard screws are in place during hardening period, used as a guide in keeping the action level and correct in stock.
the reason i commented was my gunsmith do it allin one go both pillars are held firmly on the action while lowered into the bedding mixture. but i guess you have your own methods.
@fonitrus Thank you for comment. We all have our own methods. The Pillar bedding method I use is over 40 years experience, constantly learning and improving the tech. The ultimate test is the grouping accuracy of the rifle.
In that test I am ok with the work I do. If you buy the Rifle Bedding Book you will learn the method I use, and you can bed as well as any gunsmith, and better than some.
Wow, that was fantastic. Even the music was well coordinated. Puts the job I did on my old surplus Mosin to shame. Mostly because mine involved JB weld, and metal shims.
@banjoboyjohn There is a new slide show and photographs, on my websites, covering a glass bedding of Tikka M 550 cal. 22-250 Remington rifle with magazine. Process is the same only different in preparations, which you can see in the slide show. I hope it will be of some help, but the Rifle Bedding Book I sell is a must to have, to do a professional job.
This is the best bedding job I've seen. Excellent job! Not your first bedding job I take it. You used quite a bit of bedding and I noticed a substancial amount of run-out (the most I've seen). That left a very consistent and stable platform. How do you deal with the bolt holes, trigger cut-out, and mag well? Modeling clay? Is that really modeling clay spitting out the tang bolt hole? I didn't see any modeling clay on your bolt guide rails. How do you tighten the action down? What release agent?
this might be a dumb question, but will a rifle with a synthetic stock benefit from pillar bedding? also will bedding the action help free float the barrel? thanks for you time
Decreases vibration when shot to improve accuracy. It creates solid contact between the barrel and stock. What type of bedding did you use?You jewel that bolt yourself?
@BryansU2B That is tought in the Rifle Bedding Book I sell on my websites. Plus the complete process to do a professional bedding job. And improve rifle accuracy.
@RadarGuidedVermin I have some tips, but like to keep them to my self if I ever see her. By the way where does she live ? Maybe I should write a "Complete guide to bed Jesssica" hehehehehe
No bedding material flows into action, play video slow if you can not see it.
As for music it is Blue Danub by Johann Strauss, one of the masterpieces in music.
If you do not like it, mute the speakers!
This video is a short introduction to bedding, introducing my Rifle Bedding Book. It is important to have positive attitude if someone wants to learn to bed a rifle, do you agree ?
Why would I want to do this when its best to have a free floating barrel. This sounds like it is 100% the other way. I guess that video does not tell us much.
Tgreenmi, His barrel will still be free floated (notice the red tape) and you are right a barrel should be free floated. What bedding an action does is basically make a custom footprint to the specific action and recoil lug being bedded. It did not appear that he bedded past where the barrel would officially start the taper.
And yes it did look like the bedding material was seeping into the action.
At which point of this process did you clean and trim the trigger area ?? Was there any complications or struggle when you had to remove the barrel ?? Looking foward to your response Thank You Very Much !!

THAT is NOT pillar bedding. This is glass bedding the action. There is no pillar in sight. Misleading title.
Most often pillar and glass bedding happen together but you seem to only glass bed it.

Bedding also helps an action settle back to the original pre firing point aiding in more shot to shot consistency.
nylouie516 2 years ago
Both free floating or bedding the barrel provide enhanced accuracy, although free floating the barrel is preferred among top shooters.
