well as far as i can remember robin(dick) and batgirl(barbara) were having relationship problems later in the series and also dick was struggling on his college and hero work and he wanted his independence from batman. so at some point barbara wanted some closure from someone and then batman came along and i think dick found out which made him want to gain his independence from batman even more, so he gave up being robin but it didnt stop him from seeing batman and later became nightwing

Dick Grayson is the first robin, who leaves after disconnection between him and Batman to become Nightwing, then comes Jason Todd who is killed by the Joker. After is Tim Drake who proves that Batman needs a ROBIN and is the current Robin. I think you're mixing up the DCAU(the animated batman series) and the comics. Jason isn't in the DCAU.

@doggiesarethebest I believe but could be wrong it's the Scarecrow episode in the last season. So it didn't really count. In a Batman Beyond episode Comissioner Gordon talks to Terry and mentions a romantic interest (this might be the Joker DVD but I doubt it) in Batman that didn't workout. In the Batwomen DVD at the end Babs calls Bruce on the phone flirting with him rather one way conversation. I'm sorry I couldn't be more specific.

to help you out with you confusion its like this...Dick grew up had a thing for batgirl saved her life and stuff and then ended up having batman kiss her...he gets pissed off leaves and becomes nightwing (badass mother fucker btw) and while he's gone a street kid gets saved by batman...His name is timothy...and the final part of the chicks rubbing up next to each other is from justice league which is the friendship of batgirl and supergirl..
