Garbage in (rats in), garbage out (garbage cans out): continuously jettisoning 1 unit of velspar to leave behind garbage cans (dang appropriate name) , while mining for your own full shipboard load, has proven to be a nice payback for can flipper rats as evidenced by chat channels. Results: It works. Can flippers can be confused!
@knurlykneed dude you said that on like 5 different eve videos.. i don't even know what you mean by confusing can flippers? How would that confuse them?
To provide a reasonably mobile mining base for corps where fast mining or can mining is used. The Orca tractors cans in, opens them, and stores the ore that was mined by the fleet in its hangar to reduce the amount of time spent ferrying ore back to a station. Roquals can compress the ore on site but it does cost extra material to do so so Orcas are basically big mining transports with the ability to carry some smaller mining ships for people to jump out of fast ships and into dedicated miners.

wow look noobs with an orca, sadly to become a commen sight. Did you even have a hulk mining in your fleet :P
Orca can not fit gang links, does not have the bonuses for as a command ship does, Using the full cargo capacity you can fit aprox 91Km3 (you can fill the corp hanger in space.) Dont fit cargo rigs either, use turning aid rigs to speed up warp times.
strip miners need 12000 CPU, you have only ~500, so you can cross Strip miners.
Since Orca doesn't have turret slots, no Miner modules also.
But, it's role isn't that of a miner, this is great mining command ship. You can fit mining foreman links and tractor beams, and with exp.cargo you can carry 60k m3.
You will still need dedicated mining vessels and haulers in your fleet to be as effective as possible in your mining operation.
@Bombajrosh Well actually you get a 40km3 corp hanger on it that can hold ore and a seperate ore hold that can hold 50km3. With out cargo expanders with level 5 it can hold around 120km3 of ore.
@Bombajrosh It is better to put a damage control and reinforced bulkheads on it in the lows any way. A 200kehp buffer tank in structure alone makes it very expensive to gank it and it won't hold enough ore to make it worth their while to gank you.

if ur a solo mining person its drone cap is 75 u can use tech 2 mining drones with it and just have hammerheads as ur protection
DudesInternetEmpire 1 year ago
whats nice is u can just put the ore directly into the ORCA

So if it can carry small ships, it has a dock bayor something too? You see, eve database isnt very informative
viciokas1993 2 years ago
nah not a dockbay its basically like a Small PoS ship maintenence bay you can jet out the ships from the bay and people come and fly them away
