As a rave dancer myself I know the practice that went into getting it right.
I was much more like a N-joi dancer though and spent hours getting it spot on in my old house, im 43 now too and would give almost anything for one more night. ^^
I also noticed how out of breath you were after the first set, dancing, especially stage dancing was as tiring as anything I have ever done, and I used to Box too.
I wish I had some vids of my dancing, your lucky :) I danced (paid) at quite a few raves too.

They used to have the Skinny dude who was a good Dancer but then they got a Muscley Dude who was amazing but looked like a pro with some of the stuff he could do. Everybody in the NY scene I knew danced on roofs, in houses, their backyards, at raves....shit, we even danced in 7-11 by Caffeine lol. Anywho, it wasnt all about those drugs folks. Peace, Love, Unity, Respect....the music and the dancing. The real dancers were watching themselves in the mirror to perfect their moves, not just dancing when they were high. Stop hating.

none of us could dance like him because we didnt stay at home and practice dancing, dancing was only a part of the full experience of going out for 12hours, big part but still only a part. meeting people, drugs etc etc etc...
@geelad6969 Lol, nice comment from someone who doesn't know me. If you knew me you would know I never stayed in and practiced dancing which is why I dance in so many different styles, people who practice tend to do the same move over and over again I find. The purpose of the Videos was to try and chart dance music and dance styles through the early 90's to whenever and I did intend to make one video at the same time every year. I failed miserably cause I was always out at clubs and Raves!
Thanks for all the positive comments, I always loved dancing and always will. I do occasionally still manage out and can still move. Not sure the young Ravers approve mind you but they soon see I still have the moves and doesn't take them long to understand that music and dancing is for life. :-)
hey man, that was dope. you were def feelin the music. that's why you have a variety of styles as you say, b/c you let go & allow the music to move your body, so if the music changes, your style changes. awesome. there was tons of sick dancing like that at early 90s US raves, but i remember guys from the UK who came over to US raves back then said they never saw dancing like this in the UK. either way, nice to see someone who could get down for real!

Lol, I hear you. I have had a complete change of lifestyle. I got to the gym 4-5 times a week doing weights and cardio so that when I go clubbing or to festivals I can still dance all night. Most of the time I drive and don't drink though, although I occasionally do drink and get warned that my dancing is dangerous to other clubbers by the bouncers lol. (I have also been know to sneak out to the car for the occasional nap when the need arrises :-)
@LEWOO7 Need to wait till my friend gets back from off shore next week as it's him that has them on his Phone. Don't know about busting the moves lol, more like busting the dancefloor as I fall about lol. :-)
i started goin to clubs and raves in 97 and i still bounce like i did back then but i tell you what, it's a lot more of a work out now since im grown up and dont do drugs to stay up all night and dance, rather i drink 5hour energy and lots of water, still loads of fun to tare up a floor!
My friend has a Video of me in a Nightclub the other week, very very drunk, trying some moves like the good old days lol. Need to get the Video up so you can see what too much drink can do :-)

Mental,Mental...Chicken Oriental! Superb Stompin Charly,i miss dain that for 12 hoors solid. I went to every Rez until i moved to Manchester in 93 (Castle event was the best) I was asked to mix it up 10 years ago at a house party in Bolton,only spent the night sharing the decks with Dave from the "Love Decade" The blonde geezer! He couldn't believe he was recognised,they where at every event i went to. Spent the whole night mixing and reminising about Scotland!

quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! missed the start of the scene(1st rave 94) but i still remember the old original boys busting the shapes like this man... went to a rave last yr and it aint the same! the lil whipper snappers cant bust these moves ....fact... im running my first oldskool event this friday featuring mr slipmatt himself... these moves will be tried :)

Lol, I hear you. I have had a complete change of lifestyle. I got to the gym 4-5 times a week doing weights and cardio so that when I go clubbing or to festivals I can still dance all night. Most of the time I drive and don't drink though, although I occasionally do drink and get warned that my dancing is dangerous to other clubbers by the bouncers lol. (I have also been know to sneak out to the car for the occasional nap when the need arrises :-)

i started goin to clubs and raves in 97 and i still bounce like i did back then but i tell you what, it's a lot more of a work out now since im grown up and dont do drugs to stay up all night and dance, rather i drink 5hour energy and lots of water, still loads of fun to tare up a floor!

I don't know the name of the song but it was on a cd either called DJ DYNAMIX or a mix cd by the artist LTJ BUKEM. Both came out in 1991-1993, Hope this helps.
