I think the XFL failed because it was associated with what was then the WWF. Vince McMahon didn't stop to think that  people did not want to see a football league associated with what some consider a badly acted soap opera with (fixed) wrestling matches. That's why the XFL failed, because he's an arrogant neanderthal.

the reason Why XFL failed was because stupid Vince McMahon hyped that shit up way too much and made it seem like it was something that it wasnt he got shit great ratings for the premiere and every stadium was packed but as the season went on less and less people came because this damn league was bullshit

I think it failed because it wasn't extreme enough -- most viewers were expecting games that mirrored the NFL Blitz video games, not CFL games without fair catches.

The XFL wasn't that bad. All you NFL fans just never gave it a chance. Vince wanted to invest in something different, tried and failed. But where he cut the funding is where the WWE has evolved. This is why everything is the same each year on TV. Cause people don't accept new things.

I think one big mistake was to try and claim that players "train harder". I mean the average football fan isn't stupid enough to not realize that the NFL is has the best athletes so why even try to bill yourself as tougher? I think if they hadn't played that up so much they could have existed as an Arena League type of thing.
