@Jolinator theres another video (same uploader and same video franchise) where a few 32s and 33s break the 15 second marker fastest was 13 seconds with an airshifted 1400hp r32 from veilside.
Smokey must be a real nissan fan to put an rb26 in a supra. I know RB26 are great engines, but 2JZ are very good too. So i dont see the need to change from 2JZ to RB26.But WTF if u have the money to do it, why not! right?
dont know if its helps you or something, but in part 2 of 3 of this show they said the 2jz lacks top power to really compete in such 'drags', but it does have a good streamline.
@deadbeat86 It's a major modification,RB26 is a bit expensive to tune than 2JZ-GTE but 2JZ is stronger if we compare Stock Engines,2jz keeps up to 700hp on stock bottom end,RB26????No!!!!Easy to blow!
@Placebo911911 2JZ very short range of max power and lacks a high limit. RB26 full tuned can be making around 800 hp at 4,300 rpm and can redline in excess of 11,000. 2JZ doesn't make power until around 6,000 rpm and maxes on a full tuned engine in the high 8,000s. In terms of stock, 2JZ is slightly better but must remember, this was in 1995. 2JZ was only around for 2 years and the RB26 for 7 years. Toyota copied nissan's design but improved on it. Nissan R34 has awesome internals though.
@Mr7MGT your correct the 1jzgte was toyotas answer to the rb series engines and has nothing incommon with them aside from being iron block straight 6s with twinturbos. the rb26 can make similar power to a stock 1jz whilst the 2jz can make more power stock, with built internals the rb26 can match a built 2jz and with an rb30 bottom end ( an engine made for austrailian models) helps the rb26 make similar torque to a 2jzgte even then both engines can be stroked further.
@SirRobbins YOU ARE FUCKING RETARDED! i own a 1jzgte powerd supra jza70 and have experience with both rb engines and jz engines the 1jz was designed to compete with nissans rb26, the rb26 has very strong internals but poor flowing oil system whilst the 1jz and 2jz have nickle/iron blocks and cranks with a much better oil control system its. max power of a stock rb26 is around 550-650 crank hp max 1jz is around 700 marker and the 2jzgte can handle close to 950chp with stock internals.
@deadbeat86 He said he did it because he didnt have much expereince with the 2jzgte and wanted to use the rb26 gtr engine in the more aerodynamic supra body, he has also stated that the supra feels more stable at very high speed over the skylines which are a tad twitchy.

@SirRobbins
This is one of the dumbest things ive heard...
Toyota DID NOT COPY nissansdesign when making the 2JZ
The 2JZ comes from the 1JZ which was out before any rb26
Mr7MGT 6 months ago
@Mr7MGT their goal to make a TT from the 1JZ design was inspired from RB26. They also wanted displacement larger for tuning to have bigger potential.

@SirRobbins
NO IT WAS NOT!
the 1jzgte (2.5 I6 TT) was built to replace the 1ggte (2.0 I6 TT)
you see, toyota already had a TT motor
It uses a very similar TT setup
The 2jz was to built to replace the 7m, in both turbo and n/a froms
In no way shape or form did it have ANYTHING to do with the rb's that nissan brought out at the time

@twinturboteen18 plenty of RBs have over 800hp on stock internals. it doesn't mean it will last though
