  • Oh, I thought this was in california. There's a city in california named Signal Hill.

  • I St John The Divine Would Like To Show The World The Truth And Of The Real Event In 2012 A Must See Visit My Site You Will Be Amazed A Must See For All Of Humanity.. God Bless Us All In 2012..

  • Dude what have you don. It traveld hundred of miles without braking an you tapin it an it collapse.

  • Yes b'y.

  • nice special effect

  • Like a kid at Christmas time.

  • ITS YOUR PLANET. ARE YOU TAKING CARE OF IT?

  • @Stewie5791 can't do it by myself. But thanks for asking. I did think about trying to catch a ice berg and getting into the snow cone business, but my snoopy snow cone maker does me fine for now.

  • @Stewie5791 This is a great video of an iceberg falling to bits not the rape of the planet - go pick up some garbage in the street and stop being such a sanctimonious jerk.

  • @jonnyzz139 lol its a phrase of a song man

  • hehe the scream is the best in the video 0:04

  • are newfies still regarded as being the simple folk of Canada?

  • i was there!.. st. johns is my home town!.. i was walking the trail and all of a sudden we heard the ice berg starting to crack!

  • Good “golly” at the end was racist especially in a video about totally white icebergs.

Although obviously politically subversive the video does show an event that's very rarely captured.

  • ...it is rare to witness such a collapse, let alone record the event...

    thanks for the upload.

  • you can tow a glacier? i learned something today. :)

  • It's a shame your camera was not very good. That is indeed a rare catch.

  • this is why i love livin in newfinland. We's is so ghetto

  • you should a got your arse down there and got a few pieces of ice.. do you have any idea how long that ice will keep a glass of rum cold? all night and part of the next day...

  • ICEBERG: "I'M MELTING!"

  • amazing

  • I've been there. Weather is lousy but the people and scenery are great. Signal hill is where the first transatlantic signal was sent from by Marconi. There was a big iceberg at the entrance to St. John when I was there too and that was 25 years ago so it isn't unusual. All the icebergs calved off Greenland pass flow south past Newfoundland. Remember the Titanic!

  • off of is commonly used in new england this is where i live we say that all the time . the ice berg is off of the cost called signal hill, like when someone asks for directions so and so street is off of so and so street. lol

  • Spacejockey. Off of in this case would mean perhaps 'beyond' or 'close to' that particular place such as "Signal Hill" so it isn't poor usage at all.

  • Ha ha ha!

  • NEWFIELAND! That's where my girlfriend lives. And where I'll be living next year. Can't wait! NL ROCKS! All you need is warped tour and it's sorted.

  • the ice berg was towed away from the harbour entrance READ THE INFO!! it didnt melt due to global warming

  • great video, we walked that trail today!

  • This is not bc of "global warming" this has been happening for centuries. Every year.

  • I love Newfoundland it's the greatest place on Earth to me at least

  • @planetmystery1 I love Newfie ladies... :-)

  • that video was amazing ive never seen anything like that before,im going to st johns in march i hope to see something llike that lol, very very nice video

  • You will be a bit early. Most ice bergs are on the move in late May, June and July. you will just see ice fields.

  • Your astounded giggle at the beginning is worth it all!

  • That was also a gasp of shock over the change inair temperature [it dropped ten degrees in a few moments as the berg collapsed.

  • @armourcutter *sigh* no, it didn't "drop 10 degrees" as it collapsed. You have no clue about physics, or what you're talking about.

  • @MrGrevy were you there? i'm just curious as to how you would know?

  • man..that water must be freakin cold when that iceberg collapses...

  • haha, i love that laugh at the beginning! tnx for posting!

  • that's awsome, you were lucky to get that on video!

  • i remember that :) i think i was on the hill that day

  • Well, I like summer too, but I like the end of summer. I like winter, but I like the end of winter too.

Having lots of icebergs is great viewing, and as you've seen, really exciting. But before I start shouting yay for global warming, I think down the road.

This video is not about global warming, like some of the viewers suggest. Icebergs have been floating by and collapsing for centuries. But if you want to talk global warming, look at where it ends, and its not an end to winter.

  • @Evilblueyes It's not because of global warming you tv educated moron.

  • Well Done.

Good shot and thanks for sharing it.

  • Unique!

  • beautiful. well captured matey

  • Awesome.. i wish i had seen it.

  • Well now you have. Please share the excitment with you friends and lets look forward to next year.

  • look into the future xx good luck x

  • very very nice

  • Great footage! Saw it on the news as well and then saw it live afterwards but would have liked to been there when it collasped.

  • oh, good golly!

  • Thanks for showing us that. It's both beautiful and worrying. (which does my head in a lot). 5 stars to you.

  • The North Artic region goes through cycles of packing on the snow and ice to glaciers breaking off into icebergs. It isn't because of global warming, this has always happened (Titanic); but the threat is still real... Polar ice caps melting away would devastate the planet. The sad thing will be when there is no snow or ice- no water, no rivers, no food, no life.

  • You are such an optimist. But let's face it. this world is changing, and it is our fault that it is changing in a way that will hurt us. There are things we can do to make it livable for our children, But they would be too hard for most people inthis world to even consider trying because they are too selfish. And I say they, but I probably mean we, including me.

  • I'm really not an optimist at all. I had just seen a video of the polar ice caps timelapsed into one year and you see the ice melt, then come back for the next season, but comparated to 10 years or 50 years or 100.... I don't know. I also know some of the global warming is natural, much of it is not, and yes, I agree, the world must act together for solutions. Mt. Everest does not have the snow it once did- we may see results from that in the next 30 years.

  • If no snow from Mt. Everest, then many rivers and lakes will dry up and millions of people will be without water.... same with the glaciers in Sweden and snow capped Mountains worldwide. The oceans will rise and cover low shorelines, islands disappear, and I don't eat fish so, I'll be dead. lol.

  • ya i seen that ice berg to when i was out to cape

  • I'll be there in 3 weeks.

  • If you want to see icebergs, make it a point to travel out to Bonavista as very few icebergs are getting close to the city now.

  • I will not be visiting Bonavista, but I'll be at Twillingate and take a boat cruise and may be I'll see an ice berg. Thanks.

  • i saw that iceberg.. i guess its gone now

  • The last of it collapsed on Saturday June 9th after sitting against the cliff for a week. The base pan is still floating around somewhere

  • nice
