I loved how she put emotion into the song and used all sorts of hand motions in the game. I beat the game's true ending route today and I was sad that it ended after kicking her butt. I listen to it all the time in the extras though. Also, was it just me, or did everyone seems to hook up with each other after raphael died?
sounds alright at first. the techno sounding stuff though just does not fit ar tonelico. then 1:38 it just turns into an anime intro or some shit. what a disapointment =/
@Razeluxe01 It might not be all ochestral like the other big Hymns, but it sure as hell fits the mood of the piece given the effect the Hymn is supposed to cause, It's cruel as hell for her to be singing it in the first place (Hi Tilia! I'm just gonna delete your soul, m'kay? OH! Saki and Finnel! How about I lobotomise you and then turn your souls into glue?) and she's not exactly enamoured with the thought of what comes next so this is how it turns out - a bit more frantic and fast paced.
@steweygrrr Well it's just, one of the things that I love about Ar Tonelico is the music (of course =P) and how unique and well thought out they sound. this just sounds cookie cutter to me. And the techno beat just removes any semblance. x.x if it were anything else I'd probly be alright with it, but it's just not "Ar Tonelico" to me =/
@Laryna6 Well Tyria is a giant troll to everyone so she's awesome but yeah Qoga had a pretty weak cast in my opinion. But then again it's unfair to compare it to 2 which really is the best of the 3.
Though it fits the scene I can't help but feel this embodies the descent of the series. Slipping out of the directors hands with each iteration as popular trends took over. In this case grand, epic soaring choruses give way to J-pop inspired tunes.
Oh well, it's still far from a bad game or song. Just feels like it lost the charm.
Well, I think that is kinda to be expected when the list of singers and composers expanded, which is a pretty big leap in numbers from the guys who did AT1&2. Its kinda expected that it would veer off from the styles that were cemented in with the series from the first two games.
I'm looking forward to the game's english release, but I know its not as good as the first two, that you have to expect. I like this song anywho, but still.
At first, I agreed with you, Goldenkittten, until I read the little note left by the creators in the Extras menu of the game itself (I do love how they bothered to write a comment for every track/hymn in the game). But since this Hymn was meant to embody the emotions of Humans specifically, as opposed to the will of Reyvateils in normal Hymns, there was a distinction in its' style. :D
@Leopectus1986 Also, the style of the songs depend on the Reyvateil extracting it, too. Any type of tune can be crafted from a hymn crystal. I think the song matches her personality.
Absolutely 100% agreed. Not only is Richa a compassionate person (although dedicated to her position), she is in love with a human. It only makes sense that she can view both sides of the equation and feel for all parties involved.
I also think I ran out of space for my comment, so I replaced "Risshizentsukyomi" with "Hymmnos" and went "DAMMIT YOUTUBE! Expand the character LIMIT or I will BREAK it."
I am aware of that. From what I know of, Risshizentsukyomi is a root translation and a predecessor of the much higher languages (like Hymmnos). I'm only taking the song extremely literal, so it's like I'm using Latin to define English words, although it's a bit tougher than one might realize.
Judging by how the lyrics are in here (and cross-referencing the title and the "Ar_Ru" portion with a translation), I can safely assume that this is a final boss theme. Either that or it's somewhere VERY CLOSE to it, since "Z" in Hymmnos is "God" and "Ar_Ru => SH" literally means "(Give) Meaning_Hated Life => My Request".
Strangely enough, I have never played a game in this series, yet I am in love with the music and the invented language.
If you don't understand what happens in the final battle, nor what are the lyrics to Tarifa, you can't say that it's disappointing, since it plays in a situation akin to Sublimation ~ omness chs ciel sos infel from Ar tonelico 2. Also, only Phase 4 is titled "Ec Tisia ~Tarifa~". Phase 2 is titled "Au GuMu", and the other two are unknown.
I understand what's happening during the final showdown as she/it realizes that humanity deserves another chance and all that, but unlike EXEC_Over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION/.Omness Chs Sos Infel which gave off a feeling of everything you were fighting for, with Ec Tisia ~Tarifa~ I barely even noticed the orchestra.
Also,it disappointed me that you can't even directly attack the final boss, physical attacks just do 0 damage and she simply 1-hits you, forcing you to use Song Magic.
Granted, the whole purpose of the battle is to convince her that humanity can redeem itself and start fresh, but this amounts to just protecting your Reyvateil from her three starfish-like minions while you charge up your attack.
@Trazen4 Then you're completely missing the point of the battle. How the heck can you convince Ciela/Horus that humanity still deserves a second chance through punching, stabbing and in general, treating her aggressively? That's why the song magic of the Reyvateils gets changed to a ball of feelings instead of their default ones, and why the damage marker doesn't even come up when the magic is released.
Not to mention that shockwave counter is the game's way of reinforcing that point further.
Ah. Well, these lyrics totally spoil a key part of the game... oh, well. Very different as far as Ar Tonelico songs go, even for AT3 (I could picture this being an actual techno song). Not to say it's bad, it's probably a blast to fight to. But if this pops up on a Dance Dance game, I wouldn't be surprised...
XD Holy crap. This is so freaking cool. I don't have a PS3 or PS2 anymore, so I have not played ANY of the Ar Tonelico games... but I can't even begin to describe how much I enjoy just listening to these gorgeous hymns. And this is one of the best!
Amazing. And here I thought there weren't any songs on AT3's OST that could compare to that of AT2s. This song took me by surprise when it started playing on my iPod.
excuse i recall this hymnos being played when you fight a certain boss in ar tonelico III. may i ask if this is correct and which boss was it i think its a reyvateil? im not very sure thank you
Look at this song this battle for this song should have been a time battle like the robot battle

Addendum: Z is the ideograph for God only in Risshizentsukyomi. Saash is the word for god or gods in Standard and sashel is God, at least in Hymmnos.
amitabho123 1 year ago
@totlmstr:
No,it's NOT the final boss theme.
The final boss songs are:
XaaaCi
Ec Tisia Tarifa~
Ec Tisia Tarifa (Not to be confused with Ec Tisia, the ending song) is actually 4 songs separated into 4 phases.
Phase 1 is the most dramatic and awesome of the four.
Phase 2 is slow and sligthly chaotic,
Phase 3 is just a corrupted (READ=Has some intentional bursts of static) version of the 4th.
Phase 4 is.....Extremely disappointing. It's too peaceful, hell even Reisha's Lullaby would be more fitting

Liked the actual hymmnos part. Function Definitions, wow...
One question: "enter innna Ar_Ru => SH" Where is the pointer definition in this line? Or it is some predetermenied default pointer used here?
Alos, cool effects! Thanks for the video!
Zer0Null 1 year ago
@Zer0Null
That Hymmnos line means only
"Access to the mind of Ar_Ru in Static Hymmno area".
The pointer definition is written in the official translation in Japanese.
I was in two mind about which should I take, and I did like that.
