A year ago I saw something like that zip over my house. Close, orange, no tail, no sound and super fast headed NE from Brooklyn. I placed an ad on CraigsList to see if anyone else saw it. Withing minutes I had a reply from Boston from a guy whose girlfriend just dragged him outside to show him what she described as the same thing I wrote in the ad. It was headed that way. Thousands of meteorites hit the earth everyday.Most burn up before we even see them.Some actually get through completely intact due to a good entry trajectory to the earths atmosphere and end up on the bottom of the ocean.Some get a bad trajectory and burn up where we can see them like this one.

It looks like a meteor. I've seen a few simmilar to that one. One broke up into bits but I saw another big one which had a pointed tail which dissapeared over the horizon and then about 45 mins later came past again - it must have gone right round the earth scimming the top of the atmosphere. I am about 70% sure thats a test missle considering that the area is close to a testing ground but I don't know how much area they cover either. I know for a Fact in New Mexico they do allot of weapons testing. If that was a Meteorite the damage would have been too great to survive from the initial impact and there would be no video.
