  • Bet you he wanted to say "It sounds just like my Gretsch"... 1:56...

And he like the look just 'cause it looks almost the same as his Gretsch...

  • Duane Eddy is the nicest guy on earth.

  • exellent guitar for sure but i would prefer a gretsch with filtertrons for that unsurpable magical tone.

these are dearmond pickups, tv jones is making them as well as the filtertrons.

    thanks for posting pal

  • That Duane Eddy Gibson is was one of 32 Guitars that were stored at Soundcheck in Nashville, Tn. The 100 year flood that hit that area last weekend has wiped out the entire Duane Eddy collection.

The only guitar that he has now is his original Gretsch 6120. It was at home when the flood hit.

  • Mike McGuire was my guitar teacher & he made that guitar. :-)

  • Doesn't use a roller bridge eh? Definitely not a Gretsch lol

  • I'm an old Duane Eddy fan. I even bought a Gretsch 6120 DEO (Duane Eddy orange) reissue in 1997. No one ever talks about or gets into detail about his divorce from Gretsch. What a mystery. He played that orange Gretsch for must of his career, then jumps to Gibson and ahs a signature guitar just like his old gretsch, just a different color. What's with that ? Just another mystery !

  • @VTrude

Not to worry...Duane Eddy, was playing an all new Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins at The Deke Dickerson guitar Geek Festival in Anaheim, Ca Last January, 2010. Look for him to be playing a brand new Gretsch 6120 Duane Eddy Sinature Model at the Ponderosa Stomp in New Orleans, La USA . Duane, will start a tour of the United Kingdom on October 2, 2010 at The Royal Festival Hall in London, England.

    Mike

  • Look for the all new Duane Eddy Cd. It's called "Artifacts Of Twang" and will be available very soon.

  • The man got some radiophonic voice...

    Great for movie trailers.

  • I've got the original album Duane did for Jamie Records in 1958:Duane Eddy and His Twangin' Guitar. Wow, I just thought of this-

I have an album in my collection that's now 50 years old!

But this is a wonderful guitar that Gibson has built for Duane. Duane has left his own mark in music history over the years and it's nice to see a little tribute like that come his way.

    Thanks XDBBC for the share!

  • You're a class act, Duane...thank you for being you. By the way, I love your 1963 album, "Twangin' Up A Storm." My Mom bought it for me for Christmas that year and I played it until it was frosty. I have the CD now. "Blowin' Up A Storm," the David Gates instrumental title song, is my favorite cut on the album, and "My Baby Plays That Same Old Song On His Guitar All Night Long." We love you, Duane. Please come to San Luis Obispo and play your guitar at The Downtown Brewery.

  • a gibson with filter-tron pickups? there is a god!

  • *dynasonic pickups

  • just awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a crackin guitar looks like old gretsch pick ups

i bought my gretsch in the 80s when they were scarce now that there nearly walking around by them selfs i think i'll go after the duane eddy gibson

  • duane eddy was also sponsered by guild guitars they had a duane eddy model as well

  • Now that Fender ate Guild and buried all the electric models I'm happy the folks at Gibson are creating the Duane Eddy model

  • Mr Duane Eddy sir I Love Your Guitar. I Know Its A Gibson But What Model is it? If You read this can you please tell me im one of your bigest fans!

  • Eeeeh Duane Eddy signature ?

  • The Duane Eddy Signature model has highly figured maple top, back and sides. The body has the familiar shape of Gibson's classic L-5 model, with a rounded "Venetian" cutaway horn, but at 16 inches wide,it is an inch smaller than the L-5 and unique in the Gibson line.

  • duane eddy is the bomb.

  • GOD!!! What a TwangMoSHEEN! That thing growls! Sounds just like Peppermint Twist to me. Duane, if you read this, I'd like you to know that you are one of my music heros. When I was younger, I'd listen to your LP's that my dad had collected from his teen years. Thankfully, later in life, my ears would also hook into Pete Anderson's twang also. The two of you have helped to keep my twangemotions under control throughout my life. God bless you brother!
