Aight i bought the Macbook pro 17" aswel, i took the lowest speccs except the CPU and GFX card. after i got it i upgraded with a big SSD and to 8gig 1333mhz ddr3. i have to say, watching a guy like you buying the macbook pro 17" with 8gig(apple ram SUCKS) thinking its totally crazy and a 2.66ghz i7.. i meen those are the Lowest speccs. If your atleast throwing cash away for a macbook pro, specially a 17" dont be a pussy about it, you either go all the way or you dont buy mac.

You know what else is funny, youre not half as smart as you think you are. The intel processor's come with the built in intel hd 3000 graphics to save power when not playing games and thus not using the dedicated GPU. The GPU on this model is 5 series AMD. They have two sets of graphics effectively and can intellegently switch.

New MBP's were released this morning, in the UK anyways they was, containing 1gb ATI 6770's. They'll blow your 555m out the water in any benchmark.

@YummiestOrphan At the end of the day, the mac isn't targeted at gamers, plus you're explaing to me something that i've already read up on, you making assumptions is funny too! :D My xps currently runs in Nvidias smart software, Intell HD/auto switch for gaming. Finally, really and personally I couldn't give a flying fuck about benchmarks...the machine i have is future proof for a while, it plays anything from wow, bulletstorm, tf2, l4d, crysis, COD, on high/ultra graphics with no sweat at all:)

No HDMI - but it does have thunderbolt and mini display port. So you could use a mini display port to hdmi cable. Or thunderbolt to hdmi cable if you wanted to connent to a hdmi device. I do the same thing to connect to my HDTV,.
