  • A well designed folder doesn't need a spring assist to open as fast as you want especially the flipper designs.

(*Begin rant*)But I can't help being attracted to everything that repulses nanny-statists: auto knives, fast cars and black guns.

I guess I'm just immature and need guidance from a caring social worker. (*End rant*)

    Another great review Dagon!

  • I also don't really like assisted openers, I have one and I don't really like it. With AO's you don't have options on how you wanna deploy it, it will always shoot out fast and menacingly. Which is a downside when living in an anti-knife country. We too in Finland have the same type of law on knife carry, I usually have at least 2 on me anyway, but they are small and in a pinch its easy to justify the carry of a small utility knife.

  • About 8 months ago our newly elected token black along with his pro communist cronies , tried to get the definition of the switchblade knife changed in an attempt to outlaw assisted opening knives in America , but he failed miserably.

  • I heard about that attempt at banning these knives from "nutnfancy".

The problem is that whether they ban legal possesion of these knives or of all my assault weapons,I still won't give them up.

Neither will about 80 million other Americans.

  • @dgl1962 And I believe they know this

  • @dgl1962 eighty million and one counting me

  • @Taz0161 Its the little victories you treasure :)

  • This little victory as miniscule is it may seem , just keeps them one step further from achieving their ultimate goal. There's an old saying , if you put a frog in boiling water , he'll jump right out. But if you put a frog in cool water and gradually turn up the heat he won't notice until it's too late , and the government has been trying to turn up the heat since 1939. It started with the full auto weapons ban of 1939. Then the handgun control of the 1950's. Then the switchblade act in 1959

  • Then the ban on possession of armor piercing ammunition in 1982. Then the whole high capacity mags thing. Then the ban on assult weapons ( which Busch Over turned ) . See how the heat gets gradually turned up on you if your not watching ? :)

  • @Taz0161 Oh i know man they are trying to un arm us then they take away our police officers and then wonder why crime is up and why punks are running wild

  • Regarding what you mentioned in the video about knife laws in your country. For all practical purposes these assisted opening knives are switchblades. In America switchblades are defined as any knife with a spring loaded mechanism which deploys the blade automatically with pressure applied to a button or other device in the handle. Well the Tyrade spring loaded mechanism which deploys the blade automatically but since there's no button in the handle it can't be called a switchblade here.

  • Great reviews! It's a pity that assisted openers are considered automatics in your country. Knife rights recently came under fire for the same thing in our country, but luckily we were able to have assisted openers and one handed knives defined as NOT a class of switchblade.

  • I wish the Tyrade was a regular production knife. I want one, just don't have the money for it right now. Too many other knives on the list to start adding more. I already have enough to last me years. Oh well. Better start saving my pennies.

  • The steel on the Leek is currently Sandvik 13C26, but it is moving to Sandvik 14C28 soon.

  • Great as always.

How about a video showing your entire collection?

  • Thanks for the kind feedback. Actually, I think about doing a kind of "my fave 10 knives" summary video at one point...

  • Would love to see them. By the way, you have my respect for how often you create videos, seems you always have updates for us.

    Keep them coming!

  • Yes, well, there are not that many to cover anymore so after those my updates will become much more irregular - unless you like my book reviews as well :-)

  • The book reviews, although not quite as entertaining, are still very good

It's interesting to see what english literature a non native speaker (I assume?) enjoys
