2 parts boiling water

1 part Jameson whiskey

1 tsp of lemon juice

1 clove

1 tsp honey

1) The economy. Just today the Dow Jones ended just below 10,000 for the first time in 4 years. Our entire system is a mess and we need a change in VALUES in this country. Not a 700 billion dollar bailout full of pork. (Yes, I'm aware Obama voted for it too) But based on his plan, it represents a significant

change from the past four years. McCain's makes changes, but it doesn't re-prioritize our values.

2) Healthcare. It's just unacceptable to me for anyone in this country to not be able to afford and be COMPLETELY covered by healthcare. Obama's plan is not socialized... but it uses healthy competition to reform private insurance companies for the better (either sink or swim). That is what capitalism is about.

3) National Security: Come up with an exit plan for Iraq and put it into play. Also, we should be willing to be diplomats with both our allies and our enemies. I understand the need for preparations, but the idea of preconditions is ridiculous to me. I feel like shutting yourself off from the world is exactly the wrong thing to do. I don't buy the idea that it "legitimizes" our enemies.

4) Education. As a future educator and someone in college right now, Obama has solid ideas in place for

increasing funding in the national budget for education, and increasing college funding in turn for student community service. I agree in the idea of civil responsibility and don't believe that makes us any "less free." But McCain's plan doesn't seem that solid. Yes, he says he opposes No Child Left Behind (who doesn't) but he doesn't have very solid plans beyond political rhetoric.

Those are just a few things. :) There are more reasons, but those are the important issues to me.

Also, I'm not bothered by anyone that wants to vote differently (I don't agree, and I don't understand) but that's fine. McCain is certainly qualified (not so sure about Palin) but this is America and it's important to have opposing views so that the best plan of action can emerge. We act as our own "checks and balance" system so to speak.
