  • I totally forgot this song was actually 8* minutes long. Ugh I'm feeling Wind Ensemble nostalgia :p

  • 演奏得好精采 小號的音都有衝上去耶!!

  • @tmpsanderson where are you from? Taiwan Or HK?

  • @2328Wong from Taiwan!

  • I really like how the oboe doesn't sound like a chorus of dying seagulls. My band's oboe does >.<

  • AMAZING! my highschool band is playing this at the moment and it's really hard.

  • pure trumpet

  • pure trumpet

  • So many asians o.O

  • Practice hard for grace notes, the Bb, C, Bb, and G most be very careful, you can miss the Bb after C, the ones in sad moment is about air, and the fast one is fingering thats all.

  • @rpgenesis So we have to finger it too?

  • scare the hell out of me ....

  • I played this my freshman year of High School Band. It is truly a beautiful piece.

  • @FaixKurochan How do you play the small tiny notes in between the the normal ones?

  • @RSign321 They're called grace notes, and they're like thirty-second notes between other notes. It's supposed to be a sort of slur for woodwinds.

  • @FaixKurochan I'm playing the horn and they have that grace notes. So how do you play it? Its normally its from Bb to G. With the grace notes, its Bb, C Bb, G

  • @RSign321 Normally grace notes are slurred, so you would slur the horn through the Bb, C, Bb, and G.

  • @FaixKurochan lol i did to, played the flute. I saw the last two pages and thought id be able to play it when hell froze over. I got it down XD . This song is like a legend in our band

  • @Gam3rGirlie It's legend in our band, too. :D It's an awesome piece. All the woodwinds thought we died after we were done with it. xD

  • i listened to the solo/soli parts of clarinet, oboe, horn and flute again. It sent shivers down my spine. really beautiful and excellent!

  • yes the oboist is amazing! she went slightly flat for one to two note but that is totally forgivable! i think she is still very awesome!!! i even heard vibrato/rubato within her playing. xylo/mallet player is also very professional and sharp/clean in his playing. overall, given their age, i think they perform way beyond what would be expected of them. the sound is really tight and clean. running notes of woodwinds are very well executed and in sync with xylo also.

  • I play this with my symphonic band on double bass, and its bloody awesome

  • I LOVE THAT XYLOPHONE PLAYER!!! ((:

  • our mallet girl karen could whoop them, she just grad and she got to go around and see juilliard with a few selected ppl

  • oboe was super nice with the accompaniment of the french horn, Nice solo. I play the tenor saxophone and i find yr band's sound, tones and dynamics very nice. Wish my band can play as well as you all but confirm cannot because you are just too professional compared to us. :)

  • The Trombone part is the best!!!

    No doubt about it!!

I play trombone and were playing this song at New Orleans next week!

Im so pumped, and were playing that song in 2 hours!!

    GO PERSIS!!!!!!!!!!

  • we played this for competition 9 yrs back.. the melody is still so deeply entrenched. This band is good, though the trombones slowed down a little at the soli.. xylo is amazing, but the xylo player for my band could play like this too back then

  • they hurried some of the notes after the grace notes. its not really that hard if you practice. and some of the parts in the beginning are played a little too slow. or we might have played it a little too fast... :) but it is a very nice song. and very nicely played...

  • loved. this. xylo part. so fun to play!!!

  • seems like faster than the normal tempo.

  • Ya they wer all asian

They played it pretty well... But the lower brass shouldnt be playing over the clarinets and flutes. Can hardly hear them at some parts and they have purposeful parts on it.

I played this song 2 years ago in band. Im a clarinet and measure 174 suckedddd lol. It was qnnoying. ( measure 174 is the fast ending like 1 min from end)

  • not to be racist but are they all asian?

  • the xylophone player is my hero!!! I can't play the xylophone part AT ALL.

  • we just played this for honor band!! minus those beginning grace notes for trumpets, though... tad bit too challenging

  • OMG! Were you at WSU? Because I was a flute there this past weekend and I totally agree that it was WAY to hard! (and us lazy second flutes don't do grace notes... hell, we barely do notes!)

  • i played this last year in a band...its hard but when you practice you can do it!!!

  • wow que buen instrumentista el niño del xilofono excelente.

  • The oboe sounded like silk just flowing with the wind... XD

  • NICE OBOE SOLO!!!

  • Xylophone-Player is amazing!

  • this song is great i loved playing it! if anyone has the 1st alto sax part to this piece i would like to get a copy, i lost mine :(

  • i cn get u 1 played 2nd 4 years ago and our band mite play it nxt year 4 band festival in nz

  • my middle school is going to play this

  • wow........um good luck.......

  • Love this, we played this in our high school senior woodwind ensemble at a comp and got invited to nationals, but I almost died on clarinet lol.

  • whoa..that's awesome..

  • Man they are awesome!Really

  • This band comes from Taiwan (Hualien, Taiwan), and most of them are the students of college and high school.

  • This is my all time favourite song, i listen to it almost everyday!! I play 1st clarinet in my band and am looking foward to playing this song again next year!! lovely oboe solo! good work

  • Amazing, but there were some intonation issues during the love theme.

  • Comment removed

  • Our band is playing this, I play bari sax (th best) and i agree with draccanon they are asian or chinese or something they dont count because they are all good no matter what.

  • that xylophone player is amazing!

  • My band's playing Persis... but instead of an oboe, (we don't have one, we're somewhat small but we pack a punch =D) so we have a flute solo there... x_x It sounds gorgeous with a flute.

Beautiful quality and tone. 5 stars.

  • We are thinking of using a soprano sax to fill in for the oboe

  • the 3rd clarinet part is pretty fun as well.

  • I love this song. We played this in my school band. It's so fun.

The xylophone player was awesome. Good Job!

  • omg... such a wonderful song.

  • bt its really cool........ mallets rock!

  • oh god...... my sch band playin tat 4 outdoor n we nid 2 memorise measures 174 to de end!!! i dun tink i can do tat especially if de speed is as fast as tat.........

  • i love this song i played it last year. measure 174 was a PAIN IN THE ASS on the clarinet. but it was an awesome piece to play for a concert

  • Wicked! My school band gave up playing this song, so the score's in my file collecting dust, haha. Thumbs up!

  • the oboe solo is nice.

  • Wow...i playing the xylophone for this song...and its dam hard....but once u get used to it its ez.....i can play that song....

  • thanks for recorded and post it here

im gonna be playing this song for my school band which im not in that band (i play mallet and no one else plays so my teacher require me from another band)

you guys help me as a guide to play this song cuz i never get a chance to listen or rehersal w/ the band much

    thank you so much

  • Strike that, the entire band is freaking awesome.

  • Wicked xylophone player.

  • 7:12 is back to craziness

  • xlyphone player goes crazy in persis

  • OMG ive always wanted to do this as a marching show!!!! Im sure we woulda won state finals with this.

  • very Much xylophone

  • we did this for our marching band show this year.

let me tell ya, that xylophone part is insane! this is awesome!

  • Amazing. Gotta love that F-horn section!

  • WOW

    you guys are amazing

  • haha! Much MUCH better than the golden empire.

This has always been one of my favorite pieces, because my high school played it a couple years back, and we did a marching version of it that was so much fun to watch last year. You can really feel the story the song tells.

You all did a great job with this piece.

One thing, work on balance in the trumpets. A 1st was sticking out pretty bad near the beggining, but it fixed itself.

  • hahaha these guys are nothing short of phenomenal! really stellar stuff here! where can I see more concerts like this?
