A God of Diety represents that of an elemental nature when a God of religion is based on that of faith and belief. At the time of the Mayans, they sought a purpose(relative) , but after evolution of their species, we (actual) found artifacts of "being" -we benefited from our land, that changed the time scale.

I personally think 2012 is the end. Too many wars, diseases, economic problems. I mean, 2000 wasnt half as bad as we are right now. In the year 2000, no one said it would be over. There would just be a huge electrical glitch..which yes, never came. Did we have the wars back then? Did we have the famine and economic issues? Nope.
