I haven't played dead space 2 yet. Maybe that one is better.

To me Dead Space seems to be heavily influenced by the movie "Event Horizon" which is about a ship that went through a black hole and disappears, then mysteriously returns later but changed. The crew of the ship that finds it believes it went to hell, or somewhere like hell, after going through the black hole. I haven't been scared by a movie or video game in years but Dead Space had me jump and yell more times than I can remember. Scariest game ...ever!

@sillylikedat I agree, that's why I wanted and like the game so much :) Event Horizon is awesome and I can't be believe it's from Paul WS Anderson, who makes the terrible Resident Evil -movies and other video game movies... It's his masterpiece. I'm still playing this, because when I first bought it I was too scared.. now, for some reason I manned up and I enjoy it so much! One of the best games of the decade and looks awesome on PC.

@AceTechnologyGames When I got Dead Space I instantly loved it. I wasn't used to the amount of blood that is in the game and the gore was enough to turn your head the other way. It was also an extremely hard game that had me changing my tactics several times. It actualy made me better after plaing this game because now Im not as scared of things and I check my actions a lot more now because of the storyline of this game. I think you should get this game for many reasons, but its your choice.

@Jenchenzo123 Dead Space isnt really scary whatsoever. Level 1 can be a bit tense because you dont have much ammo or weapons. But soon after, you get way too much ammo and the game loses all terror for gore and repetition.

Public opinion is that Fear 2 doesn't compare to other hardcore shooters. But it does have a pretty big fanbase, storie's great and the gameplay is "just" good. Fear 1 is pretty old and not that fun anymore. Check out Bioshock, it's awesome.

yeah Resident Evil is no longer a survival horror, Silent Hill series hasn't had a good game since SH2&3. However be on the look out for Alan Wake coming out on March 20th. That game is seriously going to rock.
