  • In response to reachforthelasers - "it's a scam": I guarantee this is not a scam. "See It Right!" - based on Irlen, uses Irlen overlays PLUS colors gleaned from common office supplies like report covers and plastic envelopes. It shoud be noted that See It Right! now uses overlays developed in conjunction with the National Reading Styles Institute, but a 50-cent report cover in the right color will work just fine

  • all part of dyslexia

  • Not quite—I have Irlen, but it didn't affect learning to read, just can't do it for >10 min w/o eyestrain. Always loved learning—hated to read. Also, many dyslexics aren't helped by tinted lenses/overlays.

Finally, there are people who have both, but you can't treat the dyslexia without treating the Irlen syndrome. Some professionals consider Irlen more closely related to Autism and Aspergers.

Dyslexia is a symptom, not a "condition."

  • Irlen's Syndrome does not exist. 300% true.

  • okay dude. my sis couldn't read at all and then she got rose colored glasses and her speed doubled. Give it a rest, please? This is a serious thing.....

at least have respect for people with this issue.....

  • If it does exist, barely anybody has it. Irlen's Syndrome is a scam. Every aid available is copyrighted by Irlen. Irlen's Syndrome is a business, not a medical condition. Almost everybody in my college, including myself, who has been tested 'has' it.

  • You Can Tell You're 12. Is It Because Of Your Glasses You Start Every Word With A Capital Letter?

  • Wow, I didn't know that this syndrome existed. I am a soon to be certified teacher, but we have never been taught about Irlen syndrom. I know to use overlays with dyslexic students and now I know that they can work for many different problems. I especially like the fact that this video gives a web site for this particular syndrom.

  • Are they like sun glasses? Please correct me if im wrong.

  • noooo

  • No they are just tinted mate. I suffer from Irlen Syndrome and they are normally about 4-5diffrent layers of colors compressed into one.

  • Thanks for the info. I think I have it but need to get tested.

  • Awesome!! My son and daughter have Irlen!! And so do I! These glasses have been great for them. My daughter suffered daily with headaches! She wears her glasses now and has no headaches!! My son suffered from upset stomachs and was always tired! His life is so different now!! I wish more people could get the help they need cause I know what it is like to suffer, thinking that I was dumb!!
