god damn I've got.....9600 quad core 2.3, 8GB ram, my system Experience Index is 5.8. got SP2.... and getting average results (fps around 15-25 tweaked to around medium settings).... I'm not sure I like DX 10 all that much...progressive taxing doesn't work, and the concrete looks grainy. most downloaded planes don't work right...any suggestions? I've tweaked everything but taking away things I want to be able to run. please help!

@FastRedDragon21 If you want it fast, disable All AI trafic. It realy helps, disable Direct X 10, that will fix planes, and move the main settings to 75% it helps, i had 5-10 fps before and now I have 50-55 fps.

have you considered overclocking your cpu? I've got a 920 at 3.8GHz and fsx runs at 50-60 fps with out fraps. your system runs fine now but it could run better.

Have you tried updating your drivers for the GTX295? I heard of someone who did and it had a dramatic increase in performance for FSX. Please let me know as I'm thinking of getting this card.

For all the people posting about how the GTX295 should give better performance - FSX is CPU dependent in terms of frame rate, while the graphic card mainly looks after resolution. This game is very badly optimized and peforms far worse with SLi graphics cards without good drivers.

I think you're doing something wrong, you should be getting Much more FPS with the GTX 295. Your system must be bugged alittle bit.

I think it's his processor speed. 2.9 is really low for fsx. he's probably running a 920 OCd, but should be OCd to at least 3.8 on airif not more.

a Intel 920 stock should be fine, it's naturally better then previous dual/quad cores at stock speeds. Even if it's only oc'd ( if it is) to 2.9, that should be plenty with the GTX 295. FSX doesn't require loads of CPU power to run it, it's more of a visual game.

not with the i7 cores, the gtx 295 was built with the intention to work exceedingly well with that type of core. Now if it was a regular dual/quad core you would be right.

I know what I'm talking about, you seem to have the assumption that just because the i7-920 has it's stock speed at 2.66, then it would give the same performance as a previous dual/quad core, but your wrong. The i7 may have the same frequency but they are much more powerful, it's like trying to compare AMD and Intel chips off their speeds, you can't do that since they are measured in different ways. The author of this video probably isn't using a i7 core, maybe just a dual or quad.

First off, it says in the description that it is on an i7. I know the architecture is different and it's 32nm process. Still, I've seen charts showing at what point the i7 processor chokes current video cards.

well i have 2x 9800GTX+ cards, also a 3.0GHz x4 Phenom CPU (Overclocked to 3.30GHz (Which means as it is x4 i get 13.2GHz)) it handles FSX fine?

That little. Is that running with full screen mode? Without it Im sure you will get at least 50+ Just press alt+enter and then go to the top left of the screen till the diaganol arrow shows up and make the screen a little smaller and center it and you'll get gr8 performance.
