Best band ever to be sure! Rock gods of the universe and Freddie is the King! There's also no one else in this world that looks as good as Freddie Mercury or wears a pair of tight jeans like he does. Totally mind blowing!
How can ANYBODY wach this and NOT ENJOY IT? Look how on key they are with each other. It looks like they're just hanging out, jammin' and having a blast.
The lack of interaction with the audience makes all the difference, in that this rehearsal was only great, and not supper great. Did Freddie know he would interact with the crowd in the magical way that he did when they performed the show live? How he interacted with the crowd; that he wore a tank top; that he slicked his hair back; that the camera and lighting work was perfect; that he and the others gave it their all. That is why it was possibly the best live performance of all time.
Question for your folks - Brian plays some variations on the main riff in Hammer to Fall, filling in the gaps that are normally left with no notes in. Does anyone know if he ever played HTF in this style live/in a studio session? It just sounds so killer in the rehearsal footage here, and I'm wondering if he was just screwing around with this variation for this rehearsal and nothing more after that?
Wow rehearsals sound AMAZING. What a warrior Freddie was...givin it all in rehearsals when he wasn't even supposed to sing at all that day. They're all fantastic.
And the doctors had forbidden Freddie going on stage that day, because of some serious throat problems. Figures - he hadn't even saved himself during rehersals! This video proves that this man was, is and always will be the best performer, singer and person forever. Always strong, always 100%, no matter the circumstances. Freddie you are the Legend.
This is not backstage performance my friends. This clip is from a BBC report on Live Aid and was shot few days prior to the event and in London downtown in a theatre rented by Queen to have a quiet place to put together their act for the big one.. Do not screw around with history..
Somebody was saying that this clip is a backstage performance at the live aid gig. This is not, so saying otherwise is "screwing history". Look for this clip on bbc spots on you tube , you will find it.
I was 14 in 1985 and I cannot begin to describe how incredible it was watching Queen on TV that day! It was not just the occasion, the performance etc it was the sheer magnitude of the vibe, the atmosphere. I like you wished I had been a couple of years older, because I could then have gone to see them with Freddie in 1986. I went to the Tribute Concert in 1992....sadly without Freddie in the flesh but definitely in spirit and another awesome occasion. Nice to see another fan!
@Winxica4ever at that level- that Queen got to - it's hard to tell which is best, or better than other. sometimes i feel like listening to some other bands like LedZep or Doors, but that doesn't mean that i forget about freddy. there are bands that suit for a state of mind of mine. i get back to queen very often, and Nirvana and the Cure a.s.o. But this is in my case. I can't listen on an on the same band, but i get back to them once in a while.
SEN SA ZIO NA LE!!! Una delle loro migliori performances!! Incredibile, se la sono gustat solo i tecnici!! Meno male che dopo hanno realizzato che valeva pubblicarla. eheheh

So what are you saying..??...
That Queen allowed themselves to show that they rehursed their show for all to see..??
As a London town BBC news observer at that time, i dont recall this being shown on the Tv..
Of course i could be wrong...
Who is screwing around with history any way??
