  • Cool build Man, i can relate to taking years to finish a project ...i suspect we've dealing with the same variables...time and funding... also being in a constant state of "development"

  • Comment removed

  • good job uve spray painted ur transmission

  • Nice Lakota slider. How many feet is it?

  • i didnt think think that 7horse was gonna last long but looks nice but u didnt show any performance

  • Spray can job or spray gun, very nice job by the way

  • @Swaney9 I used a Divilbiss spray gun, there is a picture in the video.

  • Flip the front end upside down.

  • not a real racing mower, if u wanna see real racers and real builds check out heymow.com its a mower racing forum. hit me up im mower 71

  • and wats the name of the song?

  • Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd

  • wouldd a push mower engine work the same??

  • Thats what the first engine i had on it was, but i got the bigger motor so i had enough power to run higher gearing. So you could run a push mower engine you just wont have a lot of power.

  • Not bad setup, but i perfer single cyl 12hp briggs imo more capable of higher rpm with old 3 spd dynamark trannys cuz i can go thru all gears and get up to speed faster

  • @kameroner96 I got a dynamark lawn mower with a 12hp briggs with a 5 speed think its any good for a racer?

  • song?

  • is that a push mower engine? or did you just put a pull on it

  • the first engine i had on there was a 7hp push mower engine.

  • do u know how the clutch pully works

  • I know i messed up. I didnt know how to weld then, now i do so when i weld i will just re-paint.

  • did u use por 15 for the paint

  • I used S&W Industrial Enamel

  • i have two golf cart batteries one it will last a long time for running the starter and more traction for the tires and for brakes the transmission should already have them built in

  • damn fine job and a nice song choice, at least wmg didn't do their usual job.

  • @snaredrumking313 Thanks!!

  • i like it!

  • is that a murry wide body?? im just worderig cuz i have on im lifting and puting dirt bike tires on it soon.

  • to boxinggrate's comment. i want to find a front wheel drive lawnmower!! nice paint job. how long did it take you?

  • About 2-3 weeks.

  • @vernostration how does an engine swap strengthen the chassis? lmao or safen this at all...

  • a real racing lawn mower has to be lowered and new stronger front axels and real racing kart parts to make it safe... this is just a paint job and what a pulley swap? real safe! ... not a real race mower! do some research on how to build one safe before you go doing something stupid and getting hurt...

  • Oh shut the hell up man.....

  • @Elup24 if you finnish the video, there's an engine swap.

  • needsome bigger wheels with more tred on tires in the bak

  • Actually, if you look at many of the professional racer's mowers, they usually have smaller rear tires, with an average amount of tread, for maximum acceleration and torque; Both of which are more important in a race than top speed (To a point.). Inspiring video, and build!

  • hew fast does that paint make it go?

  • That was only part of the build!!!

  • Nice job.

  • How much have you aprox. spent on it?

  • Probably 80hrs.

  • @minilst5 and probably $200

  • ive got tht same lawnmower tell me how it goes man

  • in livingston county we build pull tractors out of lawn mower but they are usualy straight shift cub cadets which i dont like cuz you see to many of them at the track 99.8% of the club is cub cadets but i like seeing different ones i have a cub cadet with a 12 kohler but when i started out i had a massey ferguson straight shift belt drive and honestly i was kicking the shit out of the cub cadets

  • and for the trans axle git a peerless or spicer don't wast your time with any junk.

ive never had any problem's with ether.

  • vandagard's are nice, but you need billet aluminum connecting rods the stock ones won't last long.

    call it an investment.

    i no from experience.

if you use the stock rods don't mount the battery behind the engine. win they come out they should hit it

  • Comment removed

  • so your saying vanguards don't last long?

  • did you take your governor out of your engine?

  • if i were u i wouldnt have worried about paint

  • wow wish i had the time to put that much work in my racing mower

  • 10/10 nice job

  • awsome vid and great job on the paint looks sooooo cool could i ask where you got the motor from ?

  • @mrjeremyfoster I got it off ebay

  • cool lawn mower

  • this video shoud be called "how to paint a lawnmower"

  • were did u get the motor?

  • you should of flipped the front end

  • yea i agree.

  • what paint did you use spray paint in a can on in a spray gun and what brand

  • i x2 that

  • oi dude, great job on the mower, but can i ask where u got the motor from?

  • thats one of the most coolest paint jobs ive seen i got a racing mower to its black and white it goes 30 mph

  • Not to diss any of your hard work, but it wouldnt have taken so long if you hadnt taken it all apart and painted it. even though the stock paint sucked. awesome lawnmower though.

  • dude that is one of the coolest paint jobs on a lawn mower I've seen

  • oh thanks a lot of work

  • I have the exact same mower except mine is a 12 hp....im thinkin about puttin a 3 speed peerless on it and takin the 6 on the fly off...but I like the paint job you did its pretty awesome

  • Did you rattle can the thing? If you did that came out pretty nice.

  • ok, that is not to build a go cart, that is just painting!!!

  • Your right its not to build a go cart its how to build a racing lawn mower like in the title but paint is one of the major steps that goes into the the build also if you watched the whole video ITS NOT DONE YET!!!!!!!

  • is it real weel drive?

  • yah it has 5 speed

  • hell yea kick ass music

  • awesome music man

  • pink floyd awesome music bro.

  • whats the name of the song??????????

  • Comment removed

  • Pink Floyd : Have a Cigar

  • Did you have to assemble the engine yourself?

  • Yah but is was easy though!!!

  • Very nice and thorough job! One thing to note with that particular engine is they had a big problem with the air cleaner warping slightly causing dirt to get in the engine and ruin the rings. If you have an oil burning problem or low compression, that would be why. If not, your in luck!

  • i subed cause i can't wait to see this done. thats big engine compared to that dinkie 7 hp. nice job

  • if i took the body off my lawnmower it wouldnt go back on cause the bolts wouldnt line up cause all my flexin and rock crawlin

  • man thats nice

my uncle has this old mower that my grandpa used to own i believe and its just been setting in the bushes and nobody uses it, i want to restore it like this and mabey make a little racing mower out of it, lol

  • Yah that would be really cool

    You should do theat

  • yeah i will, i know for sure hes giving it to me i just dont know whether im gonna soup it up or just use it for an all purpose tractor, might as well soup it up

  • why build an exhaust when you could just put it straight pipe

  • i just noticed your user name. GO Team Losi.

  • how do you do a picture slide show on you-tube

  • Windows Movie Maker. You just put the pictures in the movie spot. Then you make them play for however long.

  • how much money do you have wrapped up in that thing

  • $220.47

  • wow if u look at my vids on the honda trx 125 i already have 400.42 wrapped up into it.

  • wow pretty cool. i started a company that makes and sells racing mowers. this was an inspiriting movie for all employees

  • Thats pretty bad-ass

  • Awsome paint job- thumbs up on that. What kind of paint did y use? I picked up a couple HVLP sprayguns i plan on doing some painting on a couple of my tractors( stock colors/rebuilding).

As suggested, before attempting any high speed runs, id crack open the trans, drill and tap a fill plug and drain plugs- and fill it with a heavyweight gear oil ( i used lucas oil tranny oil- surprisingly works really well- trans is still together after almost 3 years). Keep the progress vids commin...

  • As i recall the paint was a Sherwin Williams industrial enamel it was about $12.00 a quart

  • Thanks- i bot some rustoleum quarts to try out first- ive seen that automotive 'paint shop' paint that is pretty much pour and spray as well- im also going to look into clear coat to give that deep rich finish- sorta overbord for a regular mower but spending all that time on it y want to keep it from getting scratched....

  • lol i noticed that the gear selection plate was black in one pic, then red, change your mind, lol wicked nice though, good tune too,,

  • yah i had intended it to be red but accidently painted it black so i sanded it and painted it red

  • yea, thing came out nice though, cant wait to see the next vid of it, o and i added this to my favorites, lol i couldnt resist

  • Man thats A bad ass tractor.

you basically have one of the most bad ass motors out their for this...Please wrap that pretty rebuilt engine with a nice exhaust.

    Good Work Bro.

  • nice job dude! i watched the hole thing! good to see you have time to do all that, i dont. :( now (after) you get the belts and pulleys, get your carb modified for more power! o yeah.. pretty sure you might know this. but put some heavy weight in your tranny ;) keep up the good work man, 5 stars!

  • Are you sireous...Did you build it?

If you did wow that is skill!!

  • Yah i did everything except painting my grandpa did that for me

  • Wow that is impressive!!

    Skills!!
