lol why would Kobe get MVP in 06? He led in scoring, but was wayyy at the top of the list in shots taken, and only shot 45%. He pretty much hogged his way into the conversation, and the Lakers were still mediocre at best.
The league's leading scorer almost always leads the league in shot attempts. Big shocker, I know. Also, I don't see how Kobe leading the Lakers to 45 wins with a horrible supporting cast is a knock on Kobe. Throw in that Kobe plays defense (something Nash wouldn't know anything about) and you have your clear winner in 2006.
and also DUNCAN HAD HUGE SUPPORT throughout all his titles
and 1999 he had the easiest path to the finals the only decent team was the Blazers
and you idiots are saying that D-Rob, Horry, Sean Elliot, Mario Elie, T-Parker, Manu, Stephen Jackson, Avery Johnsons big shots, Michael Finley, Bruce Bowen, Steve Kerr, and Steve Smith ARENT SUPPORT???
wow u people make me sick Duncan has some of the best supporting casts in NBA history
duncan didnt deserve MVP in 2002 im sorry but the KINGS won the West in 2002 and Chris Webber deserved MVP then or Jason Kidd cuz the Nets went from bottom to top LITERALLY
and stats wise and individual accomplishments Kidd rips him its not even close
and also...HOW MANY TIMES HAVE CHRIS PAUL AND STEVE NASH BEEN TO THE FINALS???
Chris Webber only played 54 games in 2001-02 season, and he was 7th on MVP voting, even behind players like Gary Payton, Tracy McGrady, and Kobe Bryant. He had a good season w/ the games he played in, but how did he deserve it over a PF/C who played the entire season along w/ leading his team to 58 wins?! Same case you could probably penalize Shaq that season.
It's not like the Spurs had a jive record; they were the 2nd best team record-wise during the season, plus Duncan probably had his best season ever and played the whole season. Although Kidd transformed that Nets franchise at that time, the East top teams were no where near as strong as the West; Duncan team had to compete against the Kings, Mavs, Lakers, and T'wolves, teams w/ 50+ wins, so I could possibly see why Duncan got MVP over Kidd.
In 2001, the Sixers were tied at 2nd place to the Lakers (Spurs had the best record by 2 games).
In 2004, KG was on a whole different level to O'neal. It's also a big plus for the Pacers since they had DPOY and scorer Ron Artest playing for them.
In 2006, Billups probably deserved it more, but I thought it was more team success rather than Billups himself (although he did have a better year than the year before). The Suns lost STAT for the year, and Nash really had to work w/ new faces.
yea but i said best in their respective CONFERENCE
and the sixers were the best in the cnoference that year
also in 2004 JO averaged 20 , 12, 3, and 3 blocks so he wouldve won it if Garnett didnt have such an amazing season he was no doubt 2nd place no doubt
Yea sry, after I made my post, I saw you refered to conferences, but I didnt feel like re-editing my comment.
Don't get me wrong, I think the best record is a factor in considering the MVP, along w/ the individual's performance, but I don't think a player should AUTOMATICALLY be labeled MVP is their team gets the best record. You would have to look at some other aspects (like how many games they played, how effective and efficient they were, etc.)
i just dont like how sometimes a certain player just doesnt deserve it as much as another guy and they get it "because theyre on a team with the best record"
Spurs are my fave team, but I wouldn't have given any of their guys the MVP in 2006. That was the year Duncan dropped below 20 ppg and Parker went up past 18ppg, so the team was becoming more balanced. Nash winning it in 06 is similar to Duncan in 03; both actually improved upon their previous season. Everyone thought Phoenix would suck w/o Amare, yet they still did great. I had no problem w/ him winning it.
how many times have Chris Paul and Steve Nash been in the Eastern Conference? Dumbshit east is a very weak division the suns would have been the 4th seed in the east last year probably
Damn it was elimanation game, Lakers were up 3-2, but man, the were so damn close to advancing. Suns needed 7 games to close out the Clippers though, they just got too tired.
It doesnt matter if the suns didnt win a championship I'm just glad we have one thing the Lakers don't have and thats the best teammate in the NBA with Steve Nash. It shows because Nash got two MVPS in a row (should have been three only if he was black) but Kobe only has the one because he needs Pau Gasol to help him win one. Oh well at least Lebron is way better than Kobe now. I can live with that.
if he was he would have brought the ship to cleveland...
nash actually got the mvps because he was white...jason kidd and chris paul have had tons of seasons like that and never got one...
kobe needed gasol, but everybody needs help...jordan needed the help from pippen (chicago won fifty+ games in '94 season without jordan), shaq from kobe, duncan from parker/manu/david,wade from shaq, bird from mchale/parish, magic from kareem.
name one player that didnt need any help in winning a championship!!!
Nash got the MVPs because he was white? Really? Not because the Suns improved from 29 wins to 62 wins when he joined the team?
Also, Kidd never had years like Nash's best. Maybe had he been in his prime when they made the rule changes that help point guards, he would have, but he didn't. And it's unfair to cite Paul when he got 2nd in MVP voting in 2008 (and probably should've won).
But no! It's race!
And btw, Duncan won basically without anyone. His support was terrible.
ummm...terrible support??? HOF David Robinson for the first two, and on the last three- Tony Parker (even won the mvp for the last one) and Manu Ginobili (arguably the mvp in 2005...not saying Duncan didnt deserve it, but it was arguable)...he even had Big Shot Rob saving Spurs' ass a couple of times... So he DID have a great support!!! But that doesnt take away from his 4 ships because everybody needs great support!!!
I don't think you're old enough to actually remember those Spurs teams. David Robinson was NOT anywhere near his prime at the time the Spurs won their first championship. Second, Tony Parker and Manu were nowhere near their current level, especially in 2003 (which is really when he had no support). Look up their team!
It's the least support anyone has won with in recent history. Not even close, really. And LOLOL @ Manu being MVP in 2005; way to murder any credibility you had.
old enough to remember that when duncan received the finals mvp award in 05,many fans in the stands were chanting manu...again,duncan was a legit mvp,but the help he got from manu in that finals was huge...enough said.
youre forgetting the 2004 pistons, they didnt have anybody basically, just a good team that knew how to play together...that's why the 2003 spurs won too...sometimes good support means guys sacrificing their stats to help the big dog...like the 2003 spurs did...so he DID have help
now the nash thing... 1st thing Nash helped the suns improve from 29 to 62 wins Kidd helped the nets improve from 26 to 52 Paul helped the hornets improve from 39 to 56 So lets say that argument is BS because the other 2 helped their teams a lot as well Argument 2: Kidd never had years like Nash's best Nash 2005 (1st MVP) - 15.5 ppg, 11.5 apg, 3.5 rpg, 1 spg Kidd 2002 - 14.7, 9.9, 7.3, 2.1 (damn close to triple double) Paul 2008 - 21.1, 11.6, 4.0, 2.7 (way better than Nash)
and finally...i do think nash should have won the first one...but also kidd and paul should have 1 too
the real problem is the 2nd mvp that nash got...2 mvps in a row???REALLY???i mean come on,that year in 2006 kobe had a historic year around thirty 40 point games,81 points, 62 points, dragged just a terrible, terrible team to the playoffs and took suns to 7 games...and here's the thing- if Kobe got the one in 2006, maybe Paul would have gotten the one in 2008...so i do think its that white thing
Lol..i hate thomas...IF HE NEVER MADE THAT 3...Lakers coulda won a conference title...not a championship, but a conference title. AND THOMAS destoryed my hope =(
If Kwame had stopped and put his hands up then Thomas could have missed and the Lakers go on to beat the Clippers and maybe lose to the mavs but mad it to the wcf
god damnit, if we got ONE rebound or FUCKING FOULED! we would have won, and probably beat the clippers and went to the wcf.w/e, its done, lakers are back:D
i guess if the suns continue to miss the playoffs, the suns will own the lakers this millenium in the playoffs as well. lakers have 4 titles this decade sons have 1 conference final. no comparison!
You just that you thought Shaq would take you to the promised land and then said "there is nothing Run N Gun about Shaq LMAO" so which is it? If Amare leaves? That's a done deal and you can thank that idiot Steve Kerr for ruining your franchise.
i was obviously kidding about Shaq taking them to the promised land...i mean, if you know anything, you'd know Shaq said he would when he came to Phoenix. HOW COULD MY SARCASM BE ANY CLEARER?!
do i need to type "LOL JK" like some fucktard 14 year old girl?!
"That's a done deal and you can thank that idiot Steve Kerr for ruining your franchise. "
so Steve Kerr is killing my Rockets, who took your Lakers team to 7 games with no all-star?
How was I supposed to know you were being sarcastic if I couldn't hear your voice? YouTube isn't really the right platform for sarcasm. I thought you were a Suns fan when I made that comment about Kerr. You have tough Rockets team but they took the Lakers to 7 games because my team was getting cocky. Did you hear that the Spurs traded Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto to the Bucks for Richard Jefferson? The Lakers and Rockets better watch out.
No but thats the point...AL IS BETTER...and suns wanted a high pick, probable future star as well...
"they took the Lakers to 7 games because my team was getting cocky."
dont give me that...this isnt brother vs brother on xbox..this is professional sports, playoffs nonetheless. Kobe himself stated as early as Game 3 that this Rockets team is tough..dont give me that "go easy on me" shit.
i cant believe spurs would do that...after all, they should know better than any other team how valuable TEAM DEFENSE truly is...theyre missing 3 veteran parts now..traded away for...Richard Jefferson.
what..the...hell.
oh well, if anybody can put random shit together and come out with a contender, it's Gregg Popovich.
No, that's actually a great trade for the Spurs because they get a young player who can give them 15-20 points a night and play good defense. Remember, Jefferson played on thos '02 and '03 Nets teams that got to the Finals. They played stifling D which is the main reason they were so successful.
i don't know...i mean that's a good point on your end, but when i always saw Spurs on our schedule, i didnt think of Duncan, Ginoboli, or even Parker...I thought about Bowen's frustrating D, that annoying ass Oberto "Scola-clone", and even Thomas's post presence. (they do have Gooden tho)..
essentially, i thought of the whole team, and the big ass monster-robot that has all the gears to create a beast. now, they 're overlooking a few components for 1 good gear.
I was just talking with another Laker fan about Kobe and said that Kobe shot 42% in the Finals. They tried to tell me that Kobe actually shot 53% but they were going by that stupid TS% stat that John Hollinger made up.
From wikipedia: "PER takes into account positive accomplishments, such as field goals, free throws, 3-pointers, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals, and negative ones, such as missed shots, turnovers and personal fouls. The formula adds positive stats and subtracts negative ones through a statistical point value system. The rating for each player is then adjusted to a per-minute basis so that, for example, substitutes can be compared with starters in playing time debates".
thats when professional sports teams fuck up..they trade for #'s.
i'd rather have 3 bench role players that will stand up and cheer off the bench half the game then some all-star asshole who answers media questions but only has like 1 suckass friend on the team....which team is gonna win more games, ya feel me?
look up the youtube video, Nobody likes Richard Jefferson..haha
It does help to have great chemistry but the Lakers (as dysfuntional as they were) were able to win 3 championships even with a me-first player. That's a funny video!!!
im guessing the locker room that year was like a 2 party political system, divided between Kobe and Shaq-followers..and Rick Fox had mad respect with his wife.
if tim thomas woulda only stayed in phoenix...his career wouldnt be half as bad as it is now...a definite underachiever...he "had" the tools to be great but poor work ethic killed it
the suns beat two bitch ass la teams that year and we killed the lakers in game 7 and then beat them in 5 games the next year fuck the fakers and their bitch ass fake fans
It must feel great to be a Phoenix Suns fan !?! You were as impotent as beautiful your basketball was ! We crushed the Spurs 4 - 1 last year, you couldn't beat them...
but at least suns fans are loyal not fake bandwagoners like lakers fan u get late to the games and leave early i didnt see any people in the stands when they sucked 3 seasons ago but o they start to win and suddenly everyone appears like magic first they were booing kobe then theyre chantting mvp thats what i call fake
So you think everyone is a bandwagoner, everyone has been watching the Lakers since Pau Gasol trade ?
I'm a Lakers fan since 1999, right before they started to win big, i've been through 5 years where the Lakers only spiled me by winning 3 titles and going deep into the payoffs. Then, after Shaq's trade, it all went down to mediocrity, nothing scared me but made me stronger, and those 2006 series where fantastic ! Not even 10% jumped after Lakers started to win !! Still, I'm a young fan !
Still hurts, 5 1/2 years later :(

duncan didnt deserve MVP in 2002 im sorry but the KINGS won the West in 2002 and Chris Webber deserved MVP then or Jason Kidd cuz the Nets went from bottom to top LITERALLY
and stats wise and individual accomplishments Kidd rips him its not even close
and also...HOW MANY TIMES HAVE CHRIS PAUL AND STEVE NASH BEEN TO THE FINALS???
exactly dumb shits

dumb shit

ur dumb arnt u
nash had the best teamin the league around him for 2 years and still couldnt do shit u prick
this was jason kidds team for both title runs
kidd, kittles, van horn, martin, mccullogh, old mutombo, old rodney rogers, old lucious harris, and rj
nash, marion, stoudemire, kurt thomas, tim thomas, bell, barbosa, quentin richardson, jim jackson,
and now he had Shaq, Stoudemire, J-Rich, Matt Barnes, and STILL couldnt do shit
munir99 2 years ago
Chris Webber only played 54 games in 2001-02 season, and he was 7th on MVP voting, even behind players like Gary Payton, Tracy McGrady, and Kobe Bryant. He had a good season w/ the games he played in, but how did he deserve it over a PF/C who played the entire season along w/ leading his team to 58 wins?! Same case you could probably penalize Shaq that season.
SSJDave07 2 years ago
it should be consistent thats what
the way theyve always done it is the BEST PLAYER ON THE BEST TEAM
in the past, it happened to be the best player in the league every year
BUT...regardless..the Kings won the West over the Lakers and Spurs and C-Webb or Jason Kidd for making the Nets 1st place in the east deserved it
munir99 2 years ago
It's not like the Spurs had a jive record; they were the 2nd best team record-wise during the season, plus Duncan probably had his best season ever and played the whole season. Although Kidd transformed that Nets franchise at that time, the East top teams were no where near as strong as the West; Duncan team had to compete against the Kings, Mavs, Lakers, and T'wolves, teams w/ 50+ wins, so I could possibly see why Duncan got MVP over Kidd.
SSJDave07 2 years ago
whens the last time the MVP has been givin to sum1 who wasnt on the best team in the conference?
2000 - Shaq - Lakers #1
2001 - AI - Sixers #1
2002 - Duncan - Spurs NOT NUMBER 1
2003 - Duncan - Spurs #1
2004 - KG - Wolves #1 (altho Jermaine Oneal deserved it too cuz pacers had the best record in the league but kg had better stats)
2005 - Nash - Suns #1
in 2006 Nash did not deserve it whatsoever. Chauncey Billups or sum1 else on the spurs did.
2007 - Nowitzki - Mavs #1
2008 - Kobe - Lakers #1
munir99 2 years ago
In 2001, the Sixers were tied at 2nd place to the Lakers (Spurs had the best record by 2 games).
In 2004, KG was on a whole different level to O'neal. It's also a big plus for the Pacers since they had DPOY and scorer Ron Artest playing for them.
In 2006, Billups probably deserved it more, but I thought it was more team success rather than Billups himself (although he did have a better year than the year before). The Suns lost STAT for the year, and Nash really had to work w/ new faces.
SSJDave07 2 years ago
yea but i said best in their respective CONFERENCE
and the sixers were the best in the cnoference that year
also in 2004 JO averaged 20 , 12, 3, and 3 blocks so he wouldve won it if Garnett didnt have such an amazing season he was no doubt 2nd place no doubt
munir99 2 years ago
Yea sry, after I made my post, I saw you refered to conferences, but I didnt feel like re-editing my comment.
Don't get me wrong, I think the best record is a factor in considering the MVP, along w/ the individual's performance, but I don't think a player should AUTOMATICALLY be labeled MVP is their team gets the best record. You would have to look at some other aspects (like how many games they played, how effective and efficient they were, etc.)
SSJDave07 2 years ago
i just dont like how sometimes a certain player just doesnt deserve it as much as another guy and they get it "because theyre on a team with the best record"
munir99 2 years ago
Spurs are my fave team, but I wouldn't have given any of their guys the MVP in 2006. That was the year Duncan dropped below 20 ppg and Parker went up past 18ppg, so the team was becoming more balanced. Nash winning it in 06 is similar to Duncan in 03; both actually improved upon their previous season. Everyone thought Phoenix would suck w/o Amare, yet they still did great. I had no problem w/ him winning it.
My top candidates in '06
Chauncey Billups
Steve Nash
Kobe Bryant

how many times have Chris Paul and Steve Nash been in the Eastern Conference? Dumbshit east is a very weak division the suns would have been the 4th seed in the east last year probably

Phil Jackson shuda let his team foul. I hate it when he takes these kinda risks. But it's all good cuz he got 10 championships now :)
z4ng3tsu1ch1g0 2 years ago
It doesnt matter if the suns didnt win a championship I'm just glad we have one thing the Lakers don't have and thats the best teammate in the NBA with Steve Nash. It shows because Nash got two MVPS in a row (should have been three only if he was black) but Kobe only has the one because he needs Pau Gasol to help him win one. Oh well at least Lebron is way better than Kobe now. I can live with that.
KrunchyKumkwat 2 years ago
if he was he would have brought the ship to cleveland...
nash actually got the mvps because he was white...jason kidd and chris paul have had tons of seasons like that and never got one...
kobe needed gasol, but everybody needs help...jordan needed the help from pippen (chicago won fifty+ games in '94 season without jordan), shaq from kobe, duncan from parker/manu/david,wade from shaq, bird from mchale/parish, magic from kareem.
name one player that didnt need any help in winning a championship!!!
sera7ares 2 years ago
Nash got the MVPs because he was white? Really? Not because the Suns improved from 29 wins to 62 wins when he joined the team?
Also, Kidd never had years like Nash's best. Maybe had he been in his prime when they made the rule changes that help point guards, he would have, but he didn't. And it's unfair to cite Paul when he got 2nd in MVP voting in 2008 (and probably should've won).
But no! It's race!
And btw, Duncan won basically without anyone. His support was terrible.
abs7429 2 years ago
ummm...terrible support??? HOF David Robinson for the first two, and on the last three- Tony Parker (even won the mvp for the last one) and Manu Ginobili (arguably the mvp in 2005...not saying Duncan didnt deserve it, but it was arguable)...he even had Big Shot Rob saving Spurs' ass a couple of times... So he DID have a great support!!! But that doesnt take away from his 4 ships because everybody needs great support!!!
sera7ares 2 years ago
I don't think you're old enough to actually remember those Spurs teams. David Robinson was NOT anywhere near his prime at the time the Spurs won their first championship. Second, Tony Parker and Manu were nowhere near their current level, especially in 2003 (which is really when he had no support). Look up their team!
It's the least support anyone has won with in recent history. Not even close, really. And LOLOL @ Manu being MVP in 2005; way to murder any credibility you had.
abs7429 2 years ago
old enough to remember that when duncan received the finals mvp award in 05,many fans in the stands were chanting manu...again,duncan was a legit mvp,but the help he got from manu in that finals was huge...enough said.
youre forgetting the 2004 pistons, they didnt have anybody basically, just a good team that knew how to play together...that's why the 2003 spurs won too...sometimes good support means guys sacrificing their stats to help the big dog...like the 2003 spurs did...so he DID have help
sera7ares 2 years ago
sera7ares 2 years ago
and finally...i do think nash should have won the first one...but also kidd and paul should have 1 too
the real problem is the 2nd mvp that nash got...2 mvps in a row???REALLY???i mean come on,that year in 2006 kobe had a historic year around thirty 40 point games,81 points, 62 points, dragged just a terrible, terrible team to the playoffs and took suns to 7 games...and here's the thing- if Kobe got the one in 2006, maybe Paul would have gotten the one in 2008...so i do think its that white thing
sera7ares 2 years ago
the suns would have already won a championship if the fucking ref's didnt fix the game's with suns and spurs!

LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
haha obsolete?!
i thought Shaq was gonna take em to the promised land...damn..
htownnigggga 2 years ago
Shaq wasn't gonna make up for their lack of depth and defense.
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
its common sense and ive said it since the Shaq trade was news...
Suns were great because of Run N Gun..
there is nothing Run N Gun about Shaq LMAO..
not to mention letting D'antoni go...how in the fuck is anyone OTHER THAN DANTONI gonna make it work?!
That's also shitty management to let Diaw and Raja leave for J Rich.
borderline RETARDED, actually.
If Amare leaves Phoenix, ALL DUE RESPECT TO 2 TIME MVP NASH...suns are fucked.
htownnigggga 2 years ago
You just that you thought Shaq would take you to the promised land and then said "there is nothing Run N Gun about Shaq LMAO" so which is it? If Amare leaves? That's a done deal and you can thank that idiot Steve Kerr for ruining your franchise.
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
i was obviously kidding about Shaq taking them to the promised land...i mean, if you know anything, you'd know Shaq said he would when he came to Phoenix. HOW COULD MY SARCASM BE ANY CLEARER?!
do i need to type "LOL JK" like some fucktard 14 year old girl?!
"That's a done deal and you can thank that idiot Steve Kerr for ruining your franchise. "
so Steve Kerr is killing my Rockets, who took your Lakers team to 7 games with no all-star?
um...good one..
htownnigggga 2 years ago
How was I supposed to know you were being sarcastic if I couldn't hear your voice? YouTube isn't really the right platform for sarcasm. I thought you were a Suns fan when I made that comment about Kerr. You have tough Rockets team but they took the Lakers to 7 games because my team was getting cocky. Did you hear that the Spurs traded Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto to the Bucks for Richard Jefferson? The Lakers and Rockets better watch out.
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
you are right about Steve Kerr tho...did u know Suns tried to get Al Jefferson and 6th overall pick for Amare?!
WTF that would be like us trying to give yall T-mac for Kobe PLUS a high draft pick....
idiots.
Big AL >>>>>>> Amare.
htownnigggga 2 years ago
Yeah, I heard about that trade. Al Jefferson isn't that much better than Amar though.
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
No but thats the point...AL IS BETTER...and suns wanted a high pick, probable future star as well...
"they took the Lakers to 7 games because my team was getting cocky."
dont give me that...this isnt brother vs brother on xbox..this is professional sports, playoffs nonetheless. Kobe himself stated as early as Game 3 that this Rockets team is tough..dont give me that "go easy on me" shit.
and youtube is perfect for sarcasm...
"
The Lakers and Rockets better watch out. "
ha.
htownnigggga 2 years ago
i cant believe spurs would do that...after all, they should know better than any other team how valuable TEAM DEFENSE truly is...theyre missing 3 veteran parts now..traded away for...Richard Jefferson.
what..the...hell.
oh well, if anybody can put random shit together and come out with a contender, it's Gregg Popovich.
htownnigggga 2 years ago
No, that's actually a great trade for the Spurs because they get a young player who can give them 15-20 points a night and play good defense. Remember, Jefferson played on thos '02 and '03 Nets teams that got to the Finals. They played stifling D which is the main reason they were so successful.
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
i don't know...i mean that's a good point on your end, but when i always saw Spurs on our schedule, i didnt think of Duncan, Ginoboli, or even Parker...I thought about Bowen's frustrating D, that annoying ass Oberto "Scola-clone", and even Thomas's post presence. (they do have Gooden tho)..
essentially, i thought of the whole team, and the big ass monster-robot that has all the gears to create a beast. now, they 're overlooking a few components for 1 good gear.
we'll see..
htownnigggga 2 years ago
I was just talking with another Laker fan about Kobe and said that Kobe shot 42% in the Finals. They tried to tell me that Kobe actually shot 53% but they were going by that stupid TS% stat that John Hollinger made up.
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
lol in my opinion, if there was a definition for "trying too hard to stay relevant", it would be Hollinger, the stat-creator.
oh wait, there is a word for it.
Douchebag.
htownnigggga 2 years ago
I think his PER rating is a good stat but everything else is dumb. I wish I knew how he got those PER numbers though.
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
does PER cover EVERYTHING??
(contested shots, clutch decisions, heads up plays in general)
if so, then id say yes, PER is good enough.
htownnigggga 2 years ago
From wikipedia: "PER takes into account positive accomplishments, such as field goals, free throws, 3-pointers, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals, and negative ones, such as missed shots, turnovers and personal fouls. The formula adds positive stats and subtracts negative ones through a statistical point value system. The rating for each player is then adjusted to a per-minute basis so that, for example, substitutes can be compared with starters in playing time debates".
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
real talk, stats are just stats, man.
thats when professional sports teams fuck up..they trade for #'s.
i'd rather have 3 bench role players that will stand up and cheer off the bench half the game then some all-star asshole who answers media questions but only has like 1 suckass friend on the team....which team is gonna win more games, ya feel me?
look up the youtube video, Nobody likes Richard Jefferson..haha
htownnigggga 2 years ago
It does help to have great chemistry but the Lakers (as dysfuntional as they were) were able to win 3 championships even with a me-first player. That's a funny video!!!
LakersDynasty42 2 years ago
haha..kobe or shaq?
im guessing the locker room that year was like a 2 party political system, divided between Kobe and Shaq-followers..and Rick Fox had mad respect with his wife.
so in a way, there was chemistry!
haha

Kobe was the me-first player I was referring to. Make no mistake about it, when times got tough, every role player was 100% behind Shaq NOT Kobe.
