@turnoutjim - I just met Malcolm on a ride in Baja. He was a with a few guys in Bahia de los Angeles. He rolled in with a cactus spine the size of a toothpick in his hand, which some of our guys removed and then sutured - the next day he rode away from us on some of the gnarliest singletrack known to man...70 years old and riding like a bat out of hell...I have pics to prove it.
@littlelaven Strange that when they pull back on the shot of the Widowmaker, it looks like a 45 degree angle. you wouldn't think that would be steep enough to cause a problem, but indeed it does! I wonder if a trails bike could crawl up it?
Salute Malcolm Smith, one of the best riders of all time!!! he just raced Pikes Peak in 2010 and put in a stunning performance, what else can you expect from MALCOLM SMITH !!!! GREAT MAN !!!
First saw the movie when I was 11 (saw it over 10 times at the theater). Been on motorcycles since I was 9. Have the movie on DVD and love the movie as much now as I ever did. Best movie ever made. Agree with dengie75 and smellycar14....the world should have stopped right there and if I had a time machine, I would go back there, not forward.
What idiot ticked dislike? This is the definitive bike film.

isnt it funny hearing kids complaining about suspension on their modern bikes..
then look at what we had to put up with back in the early 70s... most kids cry in their weeties.

This whole movie is awesome.
I also love the cars beeping at the end.
See the whole movie if you can.
First saw it at 12 years old in a hotel in New Brunswick on holiday.
Saw it again on TV 30 years later.
Couldn't get it out of my head.
Love the 600 MPH motorcycle ride on the salt flats. Love the sound of the engine.
