  • "De lo bueno, poco" <3

  • yay! was just going to do makeup for my portfolio so great tip!

  • Great video thanks for sharing.

  • love your lil winks in the end at every videos .xx hahaha cute :P

  • i love how short and very informative your videos are!

  • Is that ur make-up collection reflecting in the mirror?! DAMN!!!! I'm sure that's not even half of it!

  • What's a good foundation with no SPF? They don't sell mufe in australia, mac face and body is prob too sheer for me, can't think of any others.... :/

  • awesome videos! thanks for making all the little tips that take so little time to watch but give so much information! you seem to teach all the basic little things that people want to know! keep up the awesome work!!!

  • I love your shirt where did you get it from :)

  • If matte skin photographs better why is it that HD foundations always seem to be quite dewy :-\ thanks for the tips I find them so helpful!

  • But what if your a cream foundation user like MAC STUDIO TECH?

  • GOSS IM DOING MY MAKE UP FOR N MY WEDDING DAY WITHIN 4 Wks,... for the last mnths I ve been practicing with all your tips but iwould you do a tutorial for a bridal look on hooded eyes? Please i beg you!!! the wedding will be on a tropical climate just in case... By the way , you are my fav among all! thanks for sharing all your knowledge and expience with us! lots of love from Mexico!,, cheers!

  • @dklectic

What do you mean by hooded eyes? Like very deep set eyes?

My friend has really huge lid space, if you want I can ask her to make a video just for you, unless you want Wayne to make a video for you lol

    Reply back :)

  • When you had mentioned that a face would "look light reflecting", my first thought that came to mind was that a person's head would look like a disco-ball.lol.

On a more serious note, what do you think of setting spray? Worth it?

  • @Wittyusernamegirl

Im not sure if you care about my opinion but I would definitely consider buying setting spray.

But a matte finish, why? Well for one I used one from Urban Decay Matte and it lasted me all through my Prom Night :) And for a wedding.

  • Another awesome tip. Thank you!!!!

I watch your videos so much, I feel like a stalker. :O

  • Constantly explaining this to brides who show me uber sparkly make-up mood boards for their big day!

  • Hi Wayne, I have just noticed that I did the make up on the model in the thumbnail for this video! How exciting! :)

  • "centre of the forehead"... when I first heard this I thought you said "sex beforehand"! I thought, guess that's one way to glow!!

Great vids. Love that you are to the point :)

  • a great tip also is to stay away from translucent powder, its the worst in pictures it will make you look older and white as a ghost since translucent powder is actually white

  • could you do a video tutorial for senior pictures?

  • do u have any foundations brand in particular u would recommend? im graduating soon , and in all my past pictures i have that ghostly white face, ughh so annoying. im currrently using estee lauder double matte liquid foundation with spf 10.

  • @tophernmel Your problem is that your foundation has SPF, which reflects light, giving you that "ghostly" look. As long as you get foundation without SPF, you'll be fine!

  • @ gossmakeupartist : When you have time, would love to hear your thoughts on makeup/skincare for men and perhaps a tutorial or your preference of a men's line for skin care and/or makeup. My fiance is a talented traditional charcoal artist, with a really good eye. He once advised a couple of ladies on lipstick shades suitable for them while we were shopping in a drugstore! Needless to say, they were impressed with his choices.

Many thanks! hugs from Canada xx

  • great tip yet again<3 this video & all your other ones!

  • what are some inexpensive matte foundations that you recommend?

  • @MsLaylaBug rimmel stay matte foundation

  • @MsLaylaBug Mousse foundation works perfectly for me, you can add a little bit of matte powder if needed.

  • nice wink dont ever stop it :)

    love from pakistan

  • do you know if clinique superbalanced powder makeup photographs well as it has an spf of 15?

  • Thank You!! Your so sexy!! ;) lol *blushing

Can you please do a video on what products you use to matte the skin? Also, it would be interesting to know what gurus you watch/subscribe to? Thanks. =)

  • Thanks :)

  • what foundation would you recommend for photographs?? any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

  • @twotaurians i think any foundation is fine as long as it doesnt have SPF or "dewy" or "liquidy" or "light-reflecting" ....as he said, powder is the best so maybe put on a powder after everything or alone.

  • Thank you for the tip. Now I know why my drivers license photo looks so shiny. I was wearing a mineral powder with mica, shimmery bronzer & shimmery hilighter - oops. I just subscribed to your channel & I love it - I will catch up on all your videos.

  • Did you know? Alkaline water can neutralize the acidity of your body caused by stress, modern diet, air pollution, and many bottled waters, improving your body’s absorption of essential nutrients, which will improve your appearance... Visit my channel for more information!

  • You really give FABULOUS tips!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

  • Yes!! agreed I am a photographer and sometimes when girls do their own makeup its shimmer galore! So I always bring a mattifying powder to set even if I am not doing makeup just for that reason. U r awesoome!! Can't wait to watch a new video from you :)

  • a random question...how does mac indianwood (which metallic gold) photograph? anyone?

  • I don't usa a lot of highlight during the day, but in photographs I looove to have my cheeks highlighted :D

  • I love your shirt, haha

  • Is the same true for video? Im wondering what is the best look for camera.

  • i totally agree. I love your videos!

  • @Mocdip-- I'm not Wayne but, you could try a gentile exfoliator over the dry patches. I personally use St. Ives apricot scrub. Also, try adding a bit of extra moisturizer to the dry spots before you apply ur foundation.

  • Fab fab fab designers always say in threes! lol love the tips tuts vids always x

  • Fab quick knowledgeable genius vids dnt ever stop x

  • Could you help me out with something? I have two problems that I can't seem to resolve. I have dry patches on my face that peel off. It's not sunburnt or anything. Do you know how to either not have that happen or safely remove the skin? I also would like to know what sort of foundation would provide good coverage and show people where those patches of dry skin are. I've had make up clump around those areas. Not pretty.

  • TY!

  • It also works better if you use more color on especially cheeks and lips. If you use lighter shades, the flash will make the colors disappear.

  • I love each and every one of your videos, you have such great advice!! Thank you for being a real guru

  • This is very true... I took some photos yesterday and there was one I refused to keep because the person looked shiny... forehead, cheeks, nose, chin. it wasn't nice at all.

  • Can you show us eye makeup for different eye shapes? Like for example eye makeup for down turned eyes (katie holmes type) etc. I noticed none of the makeup gurus on you tube cater their tutorials to different eye shapes. Not everyone has almond shaped eyes.

  • @girlyimage VERY GOOD QUESTION! HOPEFULLY WAYNE WILL OBLIGE US :-)

  • @girlyimage I agree All of the gurus do a winged eyeliner and it looks good on them but since my eyes are shaped differently it looks aweful but i love the look. I just woner in there are ways of applying that would look better...good suggestion..I socond this request.

  • @girlyimage Agreed! My eyes protrude. Can you do a video on protruding eyes?

  • Thanks you so much!!!! :-)

  • Wow thanks!

  • LOOOVE ur shirt. where is it from?

  • then what kind of foundation do you recommand? I am looking for matte finish foundation but not so matte that it will dry the skin

  • I am getting married on 24.09 so thank you for your advice. I will stay away from SPF cream which I usually apply before I put my make-up on. Thanks

  • Wayne, yet again, you rock.

  • U rock!! Thanks for all the great tips

  • can you do a viedo of what foundations dont have spf in them. and also if any of drug store makeup has no spf....

    thanks

  • ben nye creme foundation are awesome for cosplay photos

  • Maybe u could help me out. I'm NC25. I'm so yellow I call myself a Simpson. My lips are bright apricot and I'm having trouble finding a nice everyday cool colour (as warm tones make me look jaundice) for my lips. Any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated.

  • Please do a video on your favorite foundation for photos! Thanks for your videos... :)

  • Love your videos. Great helpful information!

  • Wayne, I tried your tip about putting concealer on the top of the cupids bow ( just got to learn how to-- blend, blend, blend better) and drawing liner straight across the cupids bow to make your lips bigger, and now instead of looking like Bert's lips as in " Ernie and Bert" of Sesame Street fame, I now look like Judy from Punch and Judy fame...( hey, I'll take it--( it's still an improvement ;O). You're a master artist and a craftsman,- don't ever change..ok..maybe..clothes, but that's it.

  • i love your videos!!

  • it's funny how you write: "thank you for your time" at the end. thank YOU for making these videos for us!

  • This pree awsomee!!!

  • Great tips! For those asking what kind of foundation, go to your local/favorite beauty counter and ask the professionals there. Tell them the look you are going for and they'll recommend the best products.

  • Hi Wayne, my favourite foundation has SPF in it. Is there anything I can do to make it more camera friendly. My skin breaks out in a heartbeat and I am terrified to change foundation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks!

  • i have the jeema kidd light as air foundation it is sooo nice and keeps my skin matte all day unfortunatly it has spf 18 i dont think it reflects back but really i cant tell because i have light skin..should i continue wearing it in pics???

  • OK now I need to know which brand is your t-shirt. I love it and I'd like it for my hubby. Can you tell me please???

  • 7 people look shiny on photos ;-))

  • Great tip!! thanks :)

  • the makeup doesn't prevent good photos for me, it just my face and unfortunately that cant be changed

  • Still waiting: GOSS MAKEUP LINE

  • My photos sometimes come out looking ashy almost. It looks fine in real life. And i don't use one with spf too. So.I don't know what's going on there.. :(

  • True.

  • I find that the so called dewy foundations makes my skin look old in photographs. As you say, it shows the flaws you want to hide :)

  • I love your shirt!

  • Love that shirt.

  • This is very helpful, but it would be even more so if you mentioned foundation options. Still, thank you for sharing :)

  • i find MUFE mat velvet plus to be amazing for photographs

  • Yaasssss for favorite highlighter!! Can't wait for that vid. Xo...

  • This is where SMASHBOX cosmetics nails it! Smashbox is the ONLY cosmetic company/studio that produces cosmetics FOR PHOTOGRAPHY. Everything looks absolutely brilliant on camera, and in person. You DO NOT have to be matte to look amazing in photographs, I prefer semi-matte where my skin looks like skin! Try the SMASHBOX HD FOUNDATION WITH THE HALO POWDER. Absolutely beautiful.x

  • love ur videos fast and straight to the point

  • For a glowy yet not shiny skin in photos, the solution that works the best for me is any foundation, topped with MUFE HD powder (matifies it instantly) and on the areas I want a bit of glow, I take my MAC Silver Dusk irridescent powder and dust it lightly. It gives the perfect healthy looking skin :)

  • @ans0x oh have a look at my video on celebrities with white powder x

  • @gossmakeupartist OH DEAR GOD! I've just watched it... Luckily I've never had those kind of results.. I've used it for months and never had that, but you can be sure I won't use it anymore for flash photographs... Thanks Wayne for the advice!!

  • @gossmakeupartist Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving me a bundle! Peeps pls watch that video prior to buying MUFE HD powder!

  • @ans0x but MUF powder is responsible for all those white faced celeb pictures we have seen.! Nicole Kidman and others.. MUF HD is for filming not photographs am i right or?? .......... oh i see now he has already answered this.. ok. :)

  • @gunnasveins :) Yep Wayne told me a few hours ago about the video.. Now I'm informed AND won't use that powder for photographs again..! Thanx for the information though :)

  • Its so hard to keep your face matte with VERY oily skin :(

  • Good idea! Matte for big days!

  • i love you makeup tips!! i cant stop watching your videos! :) : ) xxx

  • do you recommend there be NO SPF at all? if so which foundation do you think is best? thanks! :)xx

  • @bubblestar1000 this is a misconception. Avoid an spf of 30 or higher. SPF 15 is absolutely OKAY to photograph.

  • Ah, so youtube was having a bad day and was wondering why I didn't get any new videos n my subsription box! Out of 7 friends (All subsribed to you) only one got that video!

  • Haha! I love it when you lift your hand up and say "hey everyone!" It makes me want to high five you, or, the screen LOL!

  • I just wanted to tell you I love your videos. They are all short and straight to the point. I just hate watching long drawn out videos. Thanks

  • does anyone know any matte face products like bronzers, powders, and blushes that are natural and give a nice glow to medium skin tones??? please and thank u :)

  • does anyone know any matte face products like bronzers, powders, and blushes that are natural and give a nice glow to medium skin tones??? please and thank u :)

  • Wayne, I just have a question..Why are your videos so short? I thought you was a YT partenter.. even your tutorials..there so Fast.. like you literally have just few seconds to make your vids!... Don't get me wrong..I adore you and your channel but I would love to them longer.. Just a thought.. Love Ya, -Angie

  • is there like a general rule to where i should highlight..or does highlighting, like contouring, depend on your face shape

  • How I wish I knew this before prom a year ago.

My dewy makeup got really shiny, not to mention I had a foundation with SPF-25 and slightly shimmery eyeshadow.

Everything just got reflected in pictures, it was just horrible.

  • if you are using a liquid highlight product (for instance benefit high beam), how would you recommend applying it to a matte finish foundation without getting horrible streaking marks, or having an unblended finish? x

  • @nadynebaby112 try putting it beneath your foundation and blending it in. I've never tried it with High Beam, but with concealers it works with other liquid highlighters.

  • hey boo! thanks for the info! i take grad pics in dec!

  • Very good. I agree with you. Kisses

  • DO MORE TIPS ON PHOTO MAKEUP :D

    it helps so much!

  • but u see? I got quite dry skin and sometimes when I exagerate on the "mattification" I notice I look caky, u know? I would really love to look better in pics, but I wanna look healthy and have some comfort too, because when I add too much powder it irritates my skin... oh god. lol Luv your vids, xxoo from brazil.

  • So what matte foundations would you recommend? <3

  • i love matte finish...the dewy shiny foundation makes me look like a disco ball...damn

  • look 2 the t-shirt

  • tutorial on this please!!

  • .....I just look like a spazz in photographs anyway. W/ and w/out make up hahahahaha it's just my sorry excuse of a face LOL! Nice tip though!

  • Does this method also apply to video's? Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

    Cheers!

  • U Have amazing videos!(:can you pls do a highlighting & contouring video? It would be much appreciated! THANKS A MILLION!

  • which foundations do you recommend for photographs (weddings)?? I've tried every foundation out there and I can't seem to find something that will stay put and NOT reflect the light

  • Could you do a homecoming tutorial? or a semi-formal tutorial? :) I'd really appreciate it, I adore your videos!

  • I normally like dewy skin.. but i been using a powder to set my makeup last few days an i love the look! i can see why it would photograph so well. To me its shrunk my pores an other features i normally wouldnt love. But..... i really want to buy a decent high end powder to set my makeup and to use in photos... which one..? wanna buy a really good one. An when looking for powders is there an ingrediant that i should avoid for photos etc?..wat one do u recommend?...PLZ do a video on it...
