  • This album is a bit more experimental than the previous others. Having said that, I think it's very well made.

  • Perfect song ...

  • a lot of people say iron maiden is the best hard rock band of the 80s and 90s i have to say queensryche is and maiden comes in second.

  • @ableturner you know as much as i love queensryche, tehy dont have enough shoot the moon songs. tehy have quite a few, but maiden has 5 or 6 times the number queensryche had.

  • @thatkidseth i don't think so.They have plenty of these songs, different the one from another, which shows also diversity, never found in the same extent in maiden's catalogue

  • @ableturner That's a very subjective matter, and depends a lot on the person's criteria.

  • Guys and Gals, there is still GREAT progressive metal being made! No one contends with Queensryche's greatness, but Prog Metal will never die. Just google prog metal band list. You're sure to find something you'll love.

  • Queensryche downfall was due to a decline in the progressive metal scene the rise of grunge and most importantly the over theatrical antics of Tate which put many fans off. The loss of degarmo was the final straw. Such a shame as queensryche are one of the finest bands about back then. Sorry if I offend anyone!!

  • just like that ........

  • Numb with suffering, and the question, why am I ?

Bartender, bring another drink for the favorite son. O' yeah" I am I, Promised Land, Someone Else, and Real World kick serious ass!

  • These dudes wrote the most thought provoking music. Tates' vocals and DeGarmos' guitar work stand alone. Period.

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

  • something extremely beautiful about the guitar interlude in this song at 3:10

  • The best Queensryche Album to date... and they recorded Mindcrime!!

  • @DRUMMERFISH67 rage and than promise land...

  • this album is on my iphone Rock and Metal will never die

  • why am I?

  • I think it was their best album.

  • @NiceFellow43 2nd best

  • THE EMPIRE IS DEATH....THE PROMISE LAND IS ...AT THE END RESULT OF THE MAN... IN THE RYCHE....DREAM ARE DOWN IN THE CD...IT'S A DEEP AND ARTISTIC PICTURES INSIDE ...OF WHAT WE CAN FEEL WHEN WE LOOK THE DAMAGE OF A MAN MADE IN THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD WE LIVE. YES ! THE LAST, FANTASTIC ALBUM OF QUEENSRYCHE. THERE ANYBODY LISTENING? Hope is!

  • I just can't get into this album. I just don't like the rhythms, it's very tiring. But it's a lot better than the newer stuff.

  • @sinbysin666 i think this album is more about the tones than the rhythms

  • wow...they are no word for this song...she so beautiful...

  • dude this album is awesome but sooooo gloomy! :'(

  • @91nickt try soulful

  • @91nickt yeah i still think this is part two

  • The highest rated comment here with 33 thumbs up (34 now with mine) says 3 important things in one line. First, this is the best song on the disc. Second and most important, BUY this disc. Dont steal it from the internet. And third, this disc is VERY underrated.

  • Queensrÿche of the Stone Age :D

  • My last comment addressed how magical Geoff's sax playing is, but 4 days later, after having several heavy listens, I'm adding to it to say: this entire fucking song is magical. *_*

  • 4:07 is the best part!!!

  • The Ryche is the most thought provoking and unique music. DeGarmos' guitar work / songwriting stand alone. People have no idea how intelligent and musically talented these dudes are. Tate sings with such passion and emotion.

  • K. Saxophone is greatness.

  • RYCHE RULEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • This is one of the few songs everyone in the band has credit for writing (thanks Wiki!). It's like a sad goodbye letter for the fans. The band would never be the same.

  • Every time I listen to this song I get goose bumps. The vocals, drums, harmonics, and guitar work are mesmerizing.

  • Comment removed

  • Tates' vocals and DeGarmos' understanding of symphonic orchestral music stand alone. Operation Mindcrime was the first operatic metal. Tate sings with such passion and emotion.

  • They say if you write Queensryche on a snowman it'll come to life, punch you in the face, and fly away singing "I don't believe in love". And that's how my nose broke.

  • this album obviously doesn't hold a candle to the geatness of Mindcrime...but for what it was, it was still a damn fine record..and this tracks is definitely a stand-out track on the album

  • @Hellucinogen79

    Well said!

  • @Hellucinogen79 I can't argue against you because it's true that even though Mindcrime is much like their candle that had been held up for all other Queensryche albums, Queensryche was therefore able to make this album such a hot single.

  • I was driving by germans highway, listening this staff.. skin started cold and sweat.. .. i imagined, devils army coming down from sky.. it appeared so scary... i was obliged to stop my car till that song will finished.. real art of music..! greatest infuence on us.. simple peaple on the land..

  • THEIR BEST ALBUM IS THE SAME CALLED!!!QUEEN OF THE REICH IS A FUCKIN POWER METAL DYNAMITE!!!!

  • Kinda reminds me of Pink Floyd in a way.

  • i like all songs...alsome.

  • I dont have any words to say how much this song are so beautiful....

  • This song is trippy, dark, introspective...kind of a weird feeling, like being in your lonely, somber and suffocating bedroom..in a cheap downtown apartment...with a drink in your hand, thinking of what you've done in the recent past..like "was the right decision?"...so drink is over and you go outside in the rain to the closest bar, finally, you can't figure out right all the questions

  • @cakostrato were you spying on me?

  • AMAZiNG!!!

  • Them hitchhikers turned out to be charly and his mate johnny walker so we ignored the deflecting traffic towards the paradise behind the dark horizon.... have to start the journey again. next time don't forget to put this cd in the car-audio as a guide.

  • Oh YEAH! Got to hear this live last night! Wasn't even expecting them to play this and they KILLED IT, like they always do at all their concerts. RYCHE ON!

  • so beautiful! so set in timely focus.. wish i was making this music.... its what i hear in my dreams.. but cant put in reality...

  • the bass track is just awesome!

  • One of the greatest songs I have ever listened to, Classic

  • queensryche are 1 of best group of all time

  • Definately their last great album, this brings back some heavy memories.

  • @agavenectar1 We made it man.

    Unreal.

  • @agavenectar1 Actually, American Soldier is a great album and it's a lot like this one. I believe they're making a good comeback

  • I just don't get the criticism of this album at all. For sheer musicality, this album rocked! It is refined and they clearly spent a lot of time harnessing the right sound. Comparing sb to the late, great Dio is always gonna do the compared a disservice. However, he doesn't disappoint here!

    Mightily impressive!

  • Awesome song! One of my favorites!!!

  • So progressive.. nothing like it... intense

  • GREAT ALBUM

  • Love love love this album! sooooooo intense. like to listen to it with noone around interrupting or distracting me. one of the best bands ever period. empire, op mindcrime, promised land the best. thanks seattle

  • I totally agree with you, epic as hell!

  • @desi0151 Spot on

  • You know that "inner child" people always talk about? This album finds him and punches him in the face...

  • best album

  • Holy crap! I was about to make Empire my first Queensryche album, but this song has completely changed my mind. Promised Land is the album for me. Empire can come second.

  • This was their best album

  • Comment removed

  • Rage for order, the warning, and mindcrime are better....a lot better. Empire is kinda good...this album"promised land is kinda okay..

  • mindcrime?

  • best band ever made

  • I love Queensrÿche.

  • I have been licening to Queensryche ever sence i was 3 years old.

  • This song is so good...The last very good album of Queensryche...Unfortunately...But this is just my opinion...

  • @QueensCrimson i agree...

  • @QueensCrimson

I agree. This was their last masterpiece.

  • @QueensCrimson Their newer albums are decent, just not on the same level as this one.

  • @QueensCrimson so true :(

  • @QueensCrimson agree

  • @QueensCrimson ill agree with the last great album from queensryche but not the last very good album!

  • @QueensCrimson oh hell no! operation mindcrime 2 bro wtf only bad album they have is Dedicated to Chaos hwo can you say american soldier was bad?!

  • @QueensCrimson No, that's not only your opinion, I also agree... "promised land" is so underrated!!!.

  • @QueensCrimson I agree. Almost everything they've produced lately is crap.

  • i can't how underrated queensryche now.

  • WOW this song gave gooseskin, so F*cking brilliant!

I hope I find the album next time, last time it was sold out

  • This was my favorite song for straight years.
