Tracy Johns was 'Uniqua' on 'new jack city'. she had lost a lot of weight , but boy she was lookin scrumptious on 'she's gotta have it'. i went a found me a girl who looked like her and tee'd off on her. those were the days. girls were girls and men were men!
I seen him running at ST. Joes track today. I was staring at him like. That's the dude that was folding his clothes forever before hiitin Nola Darling. So research led me to this video. It was him i saw today and he is in great shape. No Homo......
This is my Crazy Cousin Johnny....100% NewYorker but nobody is perfect (I'm Bostonian) but? that is his real hair..some kind of genes 'slipped thru" !..all his life he has maintained a youthful look..believe is due to fact, besides his outward Masculine demeanor..he is a very, very loving,dear-hearted Man Just like his Mother was..my dear Aunt. Arlene ..R.I.P !
This is a good brother and deserves a LOT more exposure. A for real person who seems to more grounded than a lot of actors that we see. I'm very impressed and moved by his candor and openness. Kudos' Mr. Terrell!!
GREAT interview and thank you for posting it. It is a real pleasure to listen to EDUCATED and articulate fellow black men and glad to see he has his act together no pun intended..
@kdubbles Yes... I remember him being in Five Heartbeats as well..... He is one of those "undercover actors' that you see from time to time but don't really know.... he seems to have aged well...
This film had such an impact on my world. I was a college student at an HBCU in Georgia, so we'd only heard about this film (it had a limited release). When I saw it, I knew I was watching something important. The film holds up and clearly so has John Canada Terrell. I had a crush on him then, and he's still amazing looking. This film ushered in a new consciousness and people who hadn't thought they could do anything in this medium, knew differently. We owe Spike a great debt of thanks.
I love this classic flick! I was wondering why it took so long to FINALLY come out on DVD??? The one question though.....what in the world ever happened to Tracy Camilla Johns?? Mr. Terrell looks great after 22 years since this movie was released.
Wonderful movie I had the pleasure of seeing him on stage in Joliet this year he is funny and extremely, intelligent. My wish is that he do more movies. I love you him (Pinstripe)
a pretty good movie.

I met John Canada Terrell last night at a TSOP event, (Philadelphia International
Records) and it was interesting. It was a bit surreal because of his contribution
to black cinema, but he's down to earth and approachable. Sir, glad to have met
you!

I doubt that's a process. He seems to have naturally straight hair.
Great actor. Still handsome.

Naw, that's real. I've known him for years. We're both Martial Artists and I just trained with him on 2/21/10 at a Kung Fu school in Mt. Laurel, NJ.
