its a type of animation only for the mac. this is a one time app written by apple demoing the potential of core. developers can now do this kind of things with there GUI with core animation. id say well see alot of it in os 10.6 in a year or 2.
what emeek77 meant was that the app you see is a demonstration app they created to show off some uses for Core Animation.
It might or might no be included with OS X 10.5, but the general API will be included so most develepors should be able to include something like this in their apps easily as long as its on OS X
Its a develepors conference so this pretty much means that these complex effects are something that OS X provides if the coder chooses to use it. Its reducing the amount of code needed to write something and it ties it into all the other parts of the OS and uses the GPU.
Hes just showing off the kind of complex effects that could be possible with minimal effort.
like i said, its possible. I'm not sure if they'll include the app, but it will be possible for any developer to include it in any of their applications. Its like a library from which they can reference the code
With this new core animation it means expose, dashboard, minimize effects and other apps effects will be faster a no much effort for the gpu ? more delivered more smooth?
mac os x , has all the development tools "out of the box". From 40000 lines in C++ you can do the same thing in 4000 lines with Core Animation. It's AWSOME

Hell yeah. Not to mention programs are MUCH more powerful, secure, and faster with 64bit, Cocoa, and Unix.
That's brilliant!
Understatement: "That's uh.. pretty cool"

gtgidemgreen 1 year ago
@gtgidemgreen No, it was just a demo for WWDC. It's not available anywhere, not even on the Leopard beta releases.

@gtgidemgreen the point is, you can write it yourself easily :D

where do all the videos come from? Are they his videos or form the internet?
dansportdr123 4 years ago
They'll be ones from various Apple employees - they tend to use 'real' videos and photos from employees in demos.
