Have watched this again and again. Always drawn to sentimental things, the poetry of Theodore Roethke, the early music of Schoenberg, not in my my own, contemporary time did I think I would see a major artist writing in this way, with such candor and simplicity. Though it does not need it, the writing is illuminated by the filmed presence of the author reading. I simply cannot say how impressed, how deeply touched, and how proud I am to see an artist of Didion's stature write in this way.
