Thankyou for making this available. I am using the whole series to educate my Pro-Life students on not just what we stand for, but how to commnicate. Miss Gray is a hero, and I am grateful.
I assume you're referring to when they all stand up with their posters. At the beginning of the debate the moderator said they were allowed to hold up signs with certain conditions, those conditions weren't broken. They weren't preventing anybody from hearing or seeing anything.
You're completely right, Brooks. However, I did not think that they were respecting Stephanie by having their backs turned the entire time. In order to have any progress made in debates, there needs to be an audience that is willing to listen to both sides, and engage in the issue. Otherwise there's no point.
It's true that it might be a little disrespectful. but, when you consider that there were maybe a little more than a dozen sign holders and enough people showed up to probably fill the lecture hall twice (They had to hold two debates), you have to admit that it was extremely civil for an abortion debate.
those people holding signs are pathetic. why do they think their crummy signs will advance either way any of these well-spoken people's arguments?
no one came to read their signs. they came to listen to a reasoned exchange.

Pretty heavy words from a non-biologist. Kluge wins by a land slide.

Except she got utterly destroyed in this debate.

I guess those students in the front row didn't get the memo about respecting freedom of speech, especially on a university campus.

I did feel the signs were a little much though.

Good point. These things can get reeeallly out of hand and for the most part it remained pretty civil.
