  • It was the right call, but there was certainly nothing intentional there.

  • wow. Brackett lit him up. But if you know one thing about Gary Brackett, its that he isnt a dirty player. He is one of the toughest, hardest working guys in the game.

  • And I love brackett (no homo) and I know he wasn't tryin to be dirty cuz he's never done that before but he probaly hit him becuz he was werin garys number

  • It wud hav been a td but he got tired and I know niether of them are a return man but joseph addai shud hav been back there he wud hav ran out of gas to but at least it wud be more exciting

  • Shouldn't have lowered his helmet, but at the same time the guy who got jacked up also lowered his helmet so...

  • how is that legal, it was helmet to helmet

  • Perfectly legal hit, Brackett is one of the least dirty players in the NFL.

I can only imagine what someone like Rodney Harrison, Mike Vrabel, or James Harrison would have done.

  • Oh well there was a penalty so whatever lol. 93/98/41!

  • did they play from the 8 yard line after this,.... (sorry brit here and not sure on the rules))

  • @foofydoo Na, it turned into halftime, so when the 3rd quarter began it was a new possession

  • the idiot cudve scored if he didnt try juking

  • he hit him like a man not a pussy.

  • damn that titans guy got his shit rocked lol

  • wow.. he couldnt even score a touchdown. common 41! run a bit faster and quit looking around.

  • mad proprs to stevens, he is a blocking tight end and had no angle and was able to track him down

  • It blows my mind that people think "Typical Colts Football" is dirty football. Tony Dungy, who brought the team to the juggernaut they are now would have never allowed anything dirty. It's a game of sportsmanship and business. Jim Caldwell is a product of Tony Dungy's system and runs it the same way. Gary Brackett is a great player and person on and off the field. He lead with his head and should be fined because it was illegal, but it was not dirty. If he continued to do this- That's dirty.

  • @matthewt2010 ook so how about typical colts football manning choking im sorry i meant to say typical indianapolis mannings football choking because like the pats all that team is the QB

  • @Yoder23m I don't fully understand what message you are trying to convey due to your lack of punctuation, but if you mean that the Colts are only good because of Peyton, I honestly really can't argue that. He is the backbone of the team and really hasn't had a defense to compensate him since the 2005-06 season. I highly doubt Peyton choked- Special teams penalty, lack of kick off team coverage, lack of defense, and having Blair White drop a pass that Austin Collie would catch= far from choking.

  • beautiful hit stop woth these fines thats a great hit always has been a good block its the defenders fault gotta keep your head on a swivle iv been hit like it iv hit ppl like it nothing wrong wiith it this is football people not baseball or basket ball FOOTBALL this is wha im talking about real football i hate the colts but ill give cedit when its due great it brackett

  • Omg, it's not an illegal hit.. The Titans longsnapper put his head down as well.. so why the hell is there a flag?! BULLSHIT!

  • @ForeverARedskin21 because when hines ward broke kieth rivers jaw they put a stupid rule in saying when blindsiding a person you are not aloud to hit them from the neck up as well it sucks hines ward got punished for a great block now brackett is its bullshit

  • But this one wasn't a blindside hit. If it was, why did the Titans player put his head down to go in the block? I don't understand it

  • @ForeverARedskin21 i understand where your coming from and how you could come to that judgement but you can see once amato knows he's coming he has no chance to move. It his borderline blindside an you cannot lead with your helmet. It's all about safety for the players some players may find it soft but once your retired and don't know what your kids names are maybe these players will feel different.

  • @ForeverARedskin21 yeah but they consider it a blindside idk there turning football into a pussy sport

  • Typical colts player.

  • @thrilla2k10

Typical Colts player kicking ass and winning games. Yeeesshhhh

  • I initially thought it was a great block. I still thing the penalty call of a 'blindside block' was a bit bogus (and I really respect Ed Hochuli) but it was certainly unnecessary roughness. After watching the replay it was clearly unnecessary for Brackett to hit Amato that hard. Aditionally, Brackett lowered his head and made helmet-to-helmet contact. He also braced his arms in front of himself in much the same way that James Harrison did on his controversial hit on Muhammed Massaquoi.

  • football is starting to turn into a pussy sport more and more i say that was a clean hit man up your going to get hit in football its the risk you take what was he supossed to do "Ok here you go go ahead and tackle him i cant hit you" hes not going to do thathe is gonna hit him and in that case VERY hard. BiTcH!

  • @berad96 You're about retarded. I don't ever remember helmet to helmet hits considered "clean" before the NFL started fining for them. You can't honestly sit there and say that was clean. He could have stuck it in his rib cage just as hard. Use some punctuation by the way.

  • That hit was unneccesary and ruthless... I understand it's the NFL, but that was a blindside... And, he drove his helmet into the side of his head... Should of been fined more...

  • Cant believe he got fined for that. Maybe they should just start wearing flags instead of football equipment. Yeah it was a violent hit....football is a violent sport.....just part of the game. And some people think he was defensless??....wow! Maybe they should put in a manditory weight limit for players as well.....if you are over 200 lbs you can't play....or if you run under a 4.7, sorry no football for you.....and if you play like Ronnie Lott or Atwater, there is no room for you in the NFL.

  • he was a long snapper that got hit

  • He should have been ejected and suspended but Polian and Manning probably blew Goodell to make sure that didn't happen.

  • Per ESPN Report: Colts' Gary Brackett fined $35K

  • Awesome Hit? Should have tagged him with $50k and an ejection.

    Intentional>Blindside/Defenseless player>Helmet to Helmet

That spineless thug shit is no better than a punk-ass Sucker Punch.

  • Keep your head on a swivle. This was not a dirty hit. Amato was a threat to Bethea and Brackett made him pay. Brackett ducked his head - Amato just ducked his too at the last moment when he realized he was about to be hit. It wasn't a crack back - it was a perfectly legal block that just so happened to be a hard hit.

Wrong call on behalf of the NFL, imo.

  • @MacktasticDazzle exactly Brackett ducked his head you cant lead with your helmet like that to block someone

  • @MacktasticDazzle WOW.. You are clueless. It was NOT a perfectly legal hit. Amato was defenseless. Brackett clearly hits him in the BACK of the helmet, HELMET to HELMET. Amato did NOT lower his head that the last moment. Sorry, you don't know what you are talking about. There was NOTHING legal about that block.

  • imagine if Bob Sanders made that hit instead of Brackett

  • @hoboplasm So if Bob Sanders made that hit, it probably ended his own career, since he so damn injury-prone.

  • Fisher was absolutely right in saying that this hit was unnecessary. Bethea had already run past Amato when he was blocked. Brackett should definitely be suspended for this hit -- apparently he didn't get the memo after he was fined twice earlier in the year for illegal hits.

  • i dont know wats the big deal. it was a BLOCK not a tackle, and there is no rules against a BLOCK being helmet to helmet.

if Amato did not want to get hit he should have not went for the tackle. If you are not allowed to BLOCK in the NFL, then there should be no football played

  • @z147879 Actually, there is a rule against blocking to the head on blindside or crackback blocks. It was put in after Hines Ward broke the jaw of a Bengal LB a few years ago on a block. Maybe you don't know football as well as you think.

  • @z147879 Actually, there ARE rules against leading with your helmet, be it a block or a tackle. Also, there are rules about blocking in the back.

  • @nhwynter

you can lead with your helmet on a block just not if it is a "defensive player" the player was trying to make a tackle, thus he was "in play" and it was not a blindside hit

  • Not a fan of either team so I'd like to think I'm being unbiased here. Brackett clearly lowered his head and lead with his helmet to the side of Amato's head. I don't like Goodell sissifying football either, but crap like that hit has no place in sport. Hard hitting is cool, but it isn't manly to injure. AAMOF, it's a pussy's way of doing things. A $35,000 fine is nothing to people making millions a year. It should be $350,000 or a suspension if the league really wants to send a message.

  • @PowderburnMI i bet you need played FOOTBALL in you LIFE .

  • @kland07

How do you know I need (sic) played FOOTBALL in my LIFE? I bet you need (sic) played FOOTBALL in you (sic) LIFE either. I played in high school and no further, just like every else posting here, including you I'm sure.

It was a dirty hit, period. The only ones who can't see that are A) the small minority of Colts fan base who are imbeciles or B) the small minority of the NFL fan base who are imbeciles.

  • I have the live video of it. And like you said, there was nothing wrong with that hit. But it sure was loud haha. TAKE A SEAT!!!

  • Brackett's hit on Amato was perfectly legal. Amato was running upright and Brackett lowered to drive through his chest. If you watch the replay, just before impact, Amato braced himself and lowered his head which caused the helmet to helmet impact. It wasn't even "blindside." Amato and Brackett were squared up pretty well. The penalty was absolutely ludicrous, but not quite as ludicrous as Bethea cutting back towards the center of the field when there was a seal to the outside.

  • @Alaric25 - You idiot, Brackett CLEARLY led with his helmet. He WILL get fined for this hit. Too many lazy idiotic players are now abandoning the fundamentals of tackling and blocking and using their helmets as weapons. And idiotic, barbaric fans who have no dignity and respect for humans and the sport defend grotesque hits like this. The same idiots who watch the UFC defend hits like this.
