I, like you, disagree with trolls. However, I don't believe that "ignoring them" is the best tactic.
After all, nothing terrible changes without someone acting out against it. I don't mean by calling them names back (like most "supporters" do) or attacking them on a personal level... I mean providing them with facts, logic, statistics, etc. My comments rarely have anything to do with personal opinion and everything based on evidence.
I like your message, but project it at the right people.
I think it was I who said that we should ignore the trolls. Mr. O'Neal suggests that we laugh at them. And I do sometimes. Other times I ignore them as well. The worst offenders are the ones that I challenge. They're the ones that I cannot ignore. IA being one of them. But after a while I get tired of it, or my real life beckons me and I have to move on.
I don't dig that you took my comment against someone negative and made me look like the hateful one. You took it out of context and paid no attention to the other comments that I make... which are generally fact based and strive for coexistence. The comment in question was a joking jab at someone I had been speaking with for days before... and is in no way a summation of the way I behave overall.
Not to mention that I also have an anti-troll video...
We like to say: DON'T FEED THE TROLLS! Just don't reply and they'll get tired and go away. Do I follow that myself? Hell no! I've been fighting for days with some of the trolls that you mentioned in your video. Where exactly does one get "a bag of dicks" and how much are they? I've even tamed one of the trolls that you referenced at the 2:15 mark. He's actually a nice guy. The one you mention at 8:02, not so much. Love this vid!!
Some "trolls" may be certifiably mentally sick however I suspect that most are just frustrated losers who want an outlet for their frustrations.
