Sega, Is it illegal to download the 360 demo from a website and burn it to a CD or USB?

Is it also illegal to download the PC Demo from anywhere but steam?

I was just wondering cause I use a public xbox 360 and don't have admin on my work laptop, and steam wont work on my desktop

I remember seeing this vid during the time of the demo and it was a VERY good idea to give a tutorial on this level. It really helped me grasp the new system (Because I hadn't played a sonic game since Sonic Heroes) and made the game all the more enjoyable, if any more sonic games come out I hope Sega considers releasing a demo and another speed run tutorial for that too, it really sold me this game :D

Does anyone else find it strange how most bosses/cars/Omochao can go faster than Sonic in this game? In fact, the only ones I can think of that aren't faster than you are the Death Egg Robo, which is no suprise, Shadow who is known for having speed about equal to Sonic, and the G.U.N. Truck, which I would think is designed to be fast, as they use it to try to catch Sonic...

Nice thing to note, you can boost through the two Buzzbombers at 7:03. If done right, you'll soar through them, gain bounce-height from both of them, and head straight into the dash ring without dropping speed. It's a nice trick for keeping your speed going.

@Gloppagus Using Infinite Boost and Super Sonic is kinda like cheating. :D

@NSM1035 Yeah but boosting in the air as Super Sonic dramatically drains your rings. Something like 4-5rings per second which is absolutely ridiculous. Just normal Super Sonic drains rings about 1 1/2-2 rings per second. Retro Sonic doesn't even move faster (barely) he just looks cool. I miss old Genesis Super Sonic who would move so fast he would fly off screen. I Love how today they can't even emulate the speed of the Genesis games.

I would like to recommend drifting and boosting during those boost hallway sections. Makes a bit of a difference. And at 7:02, those badniks? Just do a good, vocalized jump and you can hop off of them and into the ring without homing attacking.

If only I had a good recording device, cause my record is 1:48.56! Also, Aaron isn't exactly right about skiping the spring and boosting to the rail at the beginning. What you want to do is use the spring, air boost right above the rail, and quickly move to the right. if done correctly, you'll notice you are grinding REALLY fast. I mean...REALLY fast.

it sucks though that one theoretically can't enter this contest by either recording the full game or on a computer monitor. because the contest rule state both "demo" AND "TV". so if sega decides to, they could at least disqualify you for not recording a monitor, not a TV. telling the difference between demo and full version - don't know whether there are any.

I take it that using extra skills or attributes for sonic is frowned upon...i guess they're really not much of a factor for a speed run though...here's another tip for people who r going for this challenge...at 7:15 and 7:17 you can hold the boost and crouch button at the same time..not sure if it makes that big of a difference but it sure feels like it to me...btw SEGA, best sonic game ever...can't wait for the dlc's now
