hey girl! I got a tip. I heard it from someone else and it makes sense to me so maybe you or someone else that reads this comment, it may be helpful. But someone told me that the best way to transition is with no weave and do-it-yourself styling. It is supposed to help you be more acquainted with your natural hair so that you dont go back to a perm... like fall in love with your natural hair. I agree because i think it makes sense and its better to know your hair & understand its culy ways. :D

great video. I'm at the 1 year mark. I noticed that when I "pre-poo" (i'm guess that's the right term) basically condition my hair before even wetting/washing, it's really easy to manage and very soft. I also like coconut oil and aphogee(sp) 2 min keratin reconstructor! gluck!

Im on my 2nd month without a relaxer. Its getting tough & im not feeling my hair at all! I wanna do my big chop soooo bad, but Im a little hesitant that my head will look awkward or my face will look to strange. the atural look really is you. A suggestion.... use a product called pine tar. it smells bad but it works wonders..thickness..strength..­growth like u would not believe. i use it before bed so the scent is gone by the next day. it is in most hair supply stores. bout $4. made by BB (pink top white container) the best. My big chop was on May 21, 09. I can already braid, two strand twist, and comb twist. its great stick wit it. u If I can do it u can do it. no more creamy crack(Relaxers) .YAAAAAY!

You have no idea how many women go through that same phase. Don't worry you're alone there. When I did my big chop I wore a wig for the first 7 months. I was in school and everyone was used to these long wigs but one day I woke up and said screw it. I'm wearing my hair out. It was soooooo liberating. After that day I didn't give a rat's behind what anyone said and I actually got so many compliments from other black girls about how cute it was. Don't worry you'll get there soon. Hang in there :)

I want to go natural..I wear weave ALL THE TIME..got a relaxer 7 years ago-hair fell out in a year(fell out bad)start wearing micros to grow my hair back, then they broke my hair off because i wore them for about 5 years straight wore kinky twist once(loved it) my hair still wasnt where i wanted it so i cut it short rocked it but i got another relaxer cause it was so kinky and went to the shop every week it started to fall out so i started sew ins no relaxers on my own and its growing back
