There's in fact a proper fender-rolling tool that you can pick up for about $150 (This is Australian dollar and at the current exchange rate, it should be about the same in the US of A). You attach the tool to the hub by using the wheel nuts, it has an length-adjustable arm that extends to the lip of the fender with a roller wheel attanched to the end of it, it has a winder that allows adjustment of the angle of the roller which pulls outwards or inwards towards the vehicle.
I guess its easier when you dont have all wheel drive i have a 3000gt vr4 slammed but my front fenders are slowly chewwing up my tires im running 295 width tires all the way around any ideas?
It pushed it back a little but not all the way... And when I finished... my arms were numb! This hurts so bad. I used jack handle, a flubbery metal thing, and then a pcv pipe. The pipe cracked a tiny bit of paint so i stopped.. So i think its still gonna rub. Maybe i'm not pushing hard enough with the jack handle? Because the lip isnt pushed all the way back and up
I tried this but its not really working... What do you have your tires on? I tried doing it while my car was just on the ground and pushing the handle against the tire and rolling
@SLAMMEDx240sx That is the best way. If you keep the car on the ground and wedge the handle in there you can have a friend roll the car while you guide that bat/handle and you don't have to put much pressure because the weight of the car is doing the work. If you do it this way it's a bit slower and requires more elbow grease.
@2rip00 No sir it will not. You are bending the sheet metal. It is a plastic deformation as opposed to elastic. If that were the case then all cars would not hold shape and go back to being a flat piece of sheet metal. Same deal with dents they don't just go away.
np it's not that bad. If you want to make it a little easier get a heat gun and heat it up to about 120 degrees. It will make the metal and paint easier to work with. Also the rears are usually re-enforced so some hammering may be required but it's not bad at all.
hey i have a audi a4 06 its got stagered 19s on it and the back tires rub when it runs into a bump and stuff like that if i roll the fenders do u think it will still rub and do u think i could lower it if i did rollthe fenders please help!!!
The car is actually really low, it's just jacked up in the video. If you watch again you will notice the wheel is spinning with the jack handle because the car is off the ground.
We didn't because there wasn't a heat gun. We actually meant to mention it in the video. If you have a heat gun to heat it to around 120 degrees the paint is more flexible and the metal is easier to bend. But we didn't need it.
dont worry about the scratches on your wheels and the dents on your fender, a little Oxy-clean will have it all looking like new..... idiot!

over time those fenders you rolled will come back to the original state

Ok, so rather then having someone back up and drive forward you just jacked it up and used pressure you applied to the wheel to help the roll?
I never heard of that yet.
Makes it even more simple.

Enjoy the paint cracks! Get ready for the rust.

wow, are you serious.. the only thing rolling is the tire..
TOPSECRETEVENTS 2 years ago
Yeah that is totally why the inside lip of the fender lays flat now...

did your idea come from the drift tengoku vid?
MentalExpansion 1 year ago
@MentalExpansion Yeah I have used this technique to role my fenders, and all of my friends fenders. Works great.
Black240SXDrift 1 year ago
That's not the proper way. You can't be for real...
rcpro17 2 years ago
No it's not the "proper way" but it works. I have done my car and my buddies cars like that with no issues. It works better with heat.

A lot of it depends on what exactly you are rubbing on.

Black240SXDrift 2 years ago
Very good video. Did you guys heat the surface though, or you totally ignored that part? The rolling seemed pretty easy there.
