I have a Polytune. But when I engage the pedal, and the amp is on the lead channel, it introduces noise to my rig. Is this normal? I have to put it in front of the noise gate.
@doom38426 well, Bring Me The Horizons guitarist Jona Weinhofen uses polytune, and they play with C-Drop or Bb-Drop. But I don't know how it works then
I love this tuner, great for stage use. But I have one question. Can anyone tell me what is USB input/output good for? No single one word about this in user manual or anywhere else:), thank you
Not there yet. Guitars are "untunable" by nature. Guitarists, especially classical, do not tune their instruments to 100% equal-temperament. They make slight adjustments depending on the piece they are playing.
The revolution will happen when tuners can recognize and remember all these nuances. +- 1 cent accuracy cant distinguish a perfect fifth from an equal temperament one.
Good enough for rock'n'roll? Maybe. But guitarists will continue bending the strings to get the right note.
great great pedal but there is one question that remains. how are tunings like dropped-d or dropped-c handled? will it tell me that the lowest string is flat while the others are ok? if the pedal could handle that I would instantly buy one!!!
As far as I understood you can toggle different tunings on the top side of the pedal... i remembered drop d being said, but don't know about drop c. But i'd guess it's included as well...
For someone who switches tunings often on rehearsals/gigs (like me) not so brilliant with all the toggling, but maybe auto-tuning-detection will come in future revisions. It's revolutionary enough as-is right now. ;-)
this is a great invention and super impressive, but anyone who plays guitar regularly can tune up in less than a minute anyway. It's like inventing something that ties your shoes for you... it's already virtually instant. i still like it tho.
Yeah but I'd say "regular tuning" is not the main goal for this pedal anyway... being able to check fast and easy if all your strings are in tune at once is priceless for live gigs - if you don't have a guitar tech that hands you a perfectly tuned guitar after each song, which I guess most of us (unfortunately :-P) don't have... Everything that reduces the time fiddling with the tuning is recieved with pleasure. Conclusion: I like it, too! ;-)
1:54!! it shows as if no string is in tune.. at 2:00 he just tunes one string, but all the other strings are tuned magically.. what's that?

@ChaserHUN No it's not normal. When Polytune is engaged the signal should be muted. but try changing the battery or please contact our support.

pretty cool. I used to use a TC Electronics Chorus/flanger and really liked it so much, I used it for backvocals as well. good stuff...

No 7 string guitar tuning? It should incorporate a traditional method as well for odd strings.

@ITubeSheTubes that's what makes the guitar so sexy. just like the violin it's never really in tune, but it sounds damn good.
