my goal is to learn how to ride using my seat completely. no bridle or saddle. right now i use bits but im not one of those cruel riders who constantly uses it. in fact, im pretty lazy with the reins and get in trouble cause i rest my hands. thats why i really want a laid back horse that doesnt need constant rein contact to know im there.
My horse was abused when they rode her for the very first time. Because of this she is afraid of whips, she trusts me and doesn't jump and run away anymore when I have something 'whiplike' in my hand. But, it's too much for us both... so no, I don't use a whip I just use my fingers and the rest of my bodylanguage.
