I love how they brought Lea Salonga to play Fantine. It was a brilliant move, in my opinion. She was an amazing Eponine, and she is an amazing Fantine.
@blithium my guess is that he was wearing part (if not most) of his next costume on underneath his previous one (that's what I've done in performances for quick changes, at least)
I love how the musical blends it's character flaws with powerful consequences and emotion. In both the book and the musical, you almost hate Fantine because she "abandoned" her child with the Thernadiers, but you realize that Fantine would do anything for Cosette, even die. Her flaw is trusting the Thernadiers, which leads to her death, but Cosette's life...
@lesmeslover95 I never hated Fantine for leaving her child to the Thenardiers. She couldn't raise her by herself, could she? At that time, no one would have hired a single mother. Both her and Cosette would have been starving, what good would it have done? At least Cosette was taken care of, or so Fantine thought. She didn't abandon her, since she sends money for her and everything. If she'd abandoned Cosette, she would have left her in front of a church, like you did at that time...
@wildheart19 in the books, she got sick - I don't remember if she's sick for staying too long in the cold, or a disease caught by being, well, a whore. because in the books she does that for years, doesn't only sell her hair but also her teeth to pay the Thenardiers.
absolutely the best musical EVER! i love it so so much (and not just because Nick Jonas is in it ;) The music in this musical is beautiful and fun and well just amazing!

"with a husband at home and a bit on the side" judging by the woman's face, that was not a thing to say. bad idea.

@JulieWinchester :- You do understand "It's a musical" - It's not real....!

@LiftedHilux4x4 I do. But it was inspired by a book, and this book was inspired by real life. Stories like Fantine's happened in that time.

@JulieWinchester How did Fantine die? I never figured that out. Was she sick or something?
wildheart19 7 months ago
@wildheart19 In the book Fantine dies from an unknown disease that she was suffering from, most people think it was tuberculosis
