  • I sometimes will split gigantic chunks of wood like that with my single-wedge splitter. I have hoisted 60 inch diameter oak rounds up with a forklift and whittled 'em down. Haven't done that lately though. Forklift needs a clutch. I don't get the utility of having the chisel in there though. Seems unnecessary. Seems to work though. Great vid!

  • What broke ?

  • entertaining, But has it occured to you that all the fuel you're using with the tractor, the splitter and the chainsaw makes it hardly worth the wood gained from the stump? Seriously.

  • for a chunk of wood like that, it's the wife who ought to cut it and you settle down with a nice beer!

  • Man, that is one gnarly block, twisted that ol chisel right off. Cool video.

  • What welding rod are you going to use to reattach that chisel?

  • @Tankdriver100 -- no way I would weld int back on -- Would not take any side loads. They are jack hammer chisels -- I just replaced and will get a video up soon -- thank for comments :)

  • LOL.. Depressing when tools break down.. I had to change a hydraulic line on the tractor yesterday in -20. Not long after I discovered an extension cord in the snow-blower and had to unwind 50ft from the axle.. Sucks !

  • my buddy has a small splitter like that, that him and his dad started business with. they hand made theres too
