@Deejnitro as far as i can remember that's the only way but you can double cross the ghouls after you get the mask if i remember correctly.

4:35 when using VATS the controls in the top corner are xbox 360 controls...right trigger.. A B and right stick to target different parts...

you can also tell by the way the player moves the character around in first person mode.. its definately not aiming with a mouse.
