I think the Mid East should have rock for sure, especially in Countries that are and will eventually be secular. I even heard that there were some rock bands in Iraq before the 2003 invasion. Seriously, The Arab world should have rock, theres too much of that fusion crap. At the same time, it's not neccessarily western, and pro-american.
