  • Saw Peter Case in Alaska Sep 9 2011. Sounded amazing. I'm glad he's well and glad I got the opportunity to here some of his solo work. Let us now praise sleeping John is just very high on my play list.

  • Wow, voice sounds as youthful as the original recording.

  • Great song.

  • Love that "twangy' Rickenbacker !

  • My heart surgery was pretty much free, cuz i was a broke ass peon worker in AZ. State ACCCS. in Arizona paid for the whole bypass surgery. My Cobra Coverage was a joke. Need surgery, be unemployed in AZ. I'm grateful they gave a shit..

  • We pay 105 dollars a month for healthcare ins. in Japan thru the gov't. You guys in the US are getting screwed by the insurance companies. Obama is a joke...he works with the ins. not against them..

The Plims made some amazing music..

hope things work out for Case.

  • These guys sound GREAT!!!! Just like the 80s again!

  • Hi Guys ! Is this supposed to change with Obama ??

    Greetings from France !

  • @Tonnerredebrest1997 Obama is just more of the same....lipstick on the same ole Pig! Greetings from the USA.

  • Peter Case had emergency heart surgery and like so many of us, has no insurance. Please consider donating to his fund and to the recovery fund for drummer Richie Heywood of Little Feat.

  • OK you may think I am a jerk, but anybody can buy health insurence, it cost $500.00 per month, which is alot, but it is a priority. I am sorry for Peter, but be this a lesson to all you musicains with no insurence, go get it.

  • Why said he didn't have insurance? Insurance only goes so far. My girlfriend has insurance and she recently had some work done on her liver and she has to now cough up $7000 in addition to the $650 she pays monthly for insurance. And she didn't have emergency heart surgery like Peter Case had. He may be looking at $100,000 plus...even if he had insurance. And for the time being, he's unable to earn money to pay this debt.

  • I think this is a good example of why we need health care reform that gives people access to good insurence and a reasonable cost.

  • Yep, we pay almost $700 for a family of 4 for our HMO, which we think is great, and the employer pays the bulk. just because some do not have it doesn't mean they need to screw the entire system up for the minority. BTW These guys sound great live here.

  • @tradestaff Like so many people who don't have their eyes open, you've confused health insurance with health care. Even people with insurance often have co-pays and deductibles that are unaffordably high, basically making the insurance worthless. Having insurance doesn't get you the care. 70% of all medical-related bankruptcies last year were of people who had health insurance. Do a little research. (And yes, I DO think you're a jerk, for being so glib and uninformed. I hate ignorant people.)

  • @Salguine I pay $800.00 per month for health insurence that covers my whole family, thats $266.00 per person. My daughter got hurt and was in the hospital for a week, surgery, etc, I paid like $500.00. What I am sick of is people like you blaming everybody but themselves for there problems. You can get good coverage if you shop for it. I do think that alot of money is wasted on the system that could go to care and lower the cost, but dont give me this load of crap of me being un informed

  • @tradestaff So what about people who can't afford it? Should they just fuck off and die, then?

  • Shit they still sound great but goddamn middle age is a scary thing...

  • Tremendous tune.....extremely well written. Very effective....

  • This song made "Valley Girl". This band just flat-out Rocks as good now as they did then!!!! Cudos Tradestaff for putting it on the tube!!!

  • wow ! this one of the catchiest tunes I've ever heard ! cant get it out of my head . great song!

  • Another gem from the Plimsouls. I absolutely love this band!

Great quality video and audio on this clip.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • I saw them open for the tubes in 83' at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk VA.....awesome show from both bands.....did not know all the songs the Plimsouls played....but they were great and The Tubes did an amazing show.

  • Comment removed

  • Inept management....I had a ticket to see them in '83 opening for The Tubes to support their Geffen album and I went & no Plimsouls. If you can't play NYC in support of your breaking album, go ahead and break up.

  • I had a very clear version of this song in my Favoraties, and just yesterday, it was removed BECAUSE "Viacom" said it was theres. FK! Viacom!! I am SO SO Sick of them!!!

  • fuck viacom, fuck youtube too and fuck "intellectual property"...like who is going to buy a fucking video

  • With such a collection of great songs, I never understood why the Plim's didn't make it in a much bigger way.

Myself and all my friends went to numerous shows in the 80's and loved them!

  • excellent job... most bands reunite and can't hit the notes or don't play with as much energy... not the case here at all.

  • jumped onstage during a friend's show last nite and did this with his new Rick 12-string. I'm amazed we got as close to this as we did (pretty f-ing close!); still, I bow to Peter Case & co.

  • Great song - very memorable from that era.

  • I dare say this song is a classic!

  • I've loved this song from the very FIRST time I ever heard it. Of course that was when VALLEY GIRL was making waves on the screen with a very young Nicholas Cage. What a classic flick and a classic band. Their scenes inside that LA club were awesome. Richenbackers rule ! I miss the '80s.

  • A great song writer Peter Case is. Check out Peter Case Sings Like Hell. Great recording.

  • wow just like origional studio recording

  • Great drummer.

  • I believe the drummer's Clem Burke,Blondie's drummer.

    Could be wrong,though.

  • You are right - that is indeed Clem Burke. I think he joined them for a couple of sessions.

  • I loved Valley Girl too...

    These guys sound great live!!!!!

  • I totally agree with EricWendyBrian's comment that this music doesn't age. I still listen to both of the 80s albums regularly, and it always sounds fresher than the stuff on the radio. I guess when you take great pop structure and clever songwriting, add perfect harmony vocals and top it off with a lead vocalist who deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as Fogerty, Petty or any other unforgetable singer you can instantly identify, it's just never going to sound old.

  • Love this song and I love this band!!!!

  • Little booboo coming out of the lead guitar part.Even a band as great as the Plimsouls can @!#$ up!

  • love this song!!!

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting this!

  • I LOVED "Valley Girl"....

    awesome movie...awesome song <3

    brings back great memories

  • their best show in SF was in dec. '06.

bloo the roof off the place (red devil).

  • God, these guys sound great today. Hope they make it to Detroit...

  • Spectacular

  • Great song, great band. that music just doesn't age. Classic stuff and I'm stoked to see them out there playing live and kicking ass. I just bought another copy of the 'Everywhere At Once' CD to replace the one I wore out! lol

  • is this the same plimsouls i used to know back in the late 70's?

my g/f dated one of them and i even got a kiss from one of them.

  • Same Peter Case (lead singer) anyway, who went on to have a very nice solo career throughout the 90's and 00's. I had no idea he'd gotten the Plimsouls back together.

I can still listen to the Everywhere At Once LP from beginning to end.

    Power pop at it's finest!

  • If you think that's great, chase down "Plimsouls...Plus", a compilation of their first two records, and "One Night In America", a live recording from back in the day. It'll make your hair stand on end. Both CDs are indispensable. You'll thank me.

  • Hey the Plimsouls are still a great band. Great songs no matter now old are always great songs. Why the hell you think teens now are listening to 30-40 year old songs???? Are you gunna tell me The Beatles, Stones, Dead, and Floyd are crap bands cause their old??? Damn without some of these bands you'd never have the Bad Brains , Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, Saosin etc etc give me a break!!!

  • ~Giddyup~ if u cool u stay cool- ask Clint or 007 what time it is...

  • My lord...so this iz how it turned out. Better to burn out than to fade away...perhaps?

  • At least not everyone gets big and cool. Nic Cage should thank the Gods for "Valley Girl" and "Fast Times" They got him some notice and Deborah Foreman. Wake up dummy and realize the past is what made you not the crap you make now.

  • Nic Cage was 19 when he did the movie Valley Girl, which was released in 1983. his first movie was a bit part in Fast Times at Ridgemont High where he was originally suppossed to play the part of Brad Hamilton. he almost turned the part down in Valley Girl. he calls Valley Girl an experiment.

  • The truth hurts....but Nic Cage's acting ability peaked on the film Valley Girl! No wonder he doesn't acknowledge it much....

...great film (Valley Girl) and great album from the Plimsouls!

  • Easily in the top 5 of ultimate cool power pop songs of all time. Plims if you read this....thanks. You should be proud.

  • This album introduced me to the music that shaped my life. I think I must have listened to this song more than any other song in my life when you add them all up...

  • Wow, impressive that these guys havn't lost a beat, even after 24 years. Other bands should take notice of that. Today's sound pales in comparison to yesteryear! The longevity that the Plimsouls have achieved is legendary in itself, mixed with passion, and music that is appreciated by people who appreciate good music. Keep rockin' guys!

  • Damn, they still sound great. This song is timeless.

  • Everytime I hear this song, I can't help but flashback to "Valley Girl". .Nicholas Cage's first movie. The Plimsouls were the "house" band and performed this song and one other, remember? "That's the Oldest Story in the World". Tremendous soundtrack. I too am glad I can recall the '80s. It was a fabulous era of music that I dearly cherished. Today's music is nowhere near as good.

  • Good song, I agree. But I think Nicolas Cage's first movie was "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" which was released in August, 1992. He had a small part and was credited as Nicolas Coppola,(his real name). "Valley Girl" wasn't released until April 1983.

  • I think you're right. .although I believe you meant "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was released in 1982, not '92. The irony of this faux pas on my part is that "Fast Times. ." is one of my alltime fav movies with Judge Reinhold, Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Jason Leigh in stellar performances. And Sean Penn. Nick's part was so small I don't remember it but you are correct, Francis Ford Coppola's nephew did indeed get his first credit in this movie.

  • Yes, I did mean 1982. And I agree, "Fast Times.." is a classic. Nicolas was a cook in the fast food joint that Judge Reinhold worked in. They did not show much of him. You had to really look quick to notice him. He sure has come a long way since those two movies.I really enjoyed "Valley Girl" too.

  • WOW. The Plimsouls!!! Still rockin' the rock! New Wave power pop of the 80s. The most creative music era.

  • thanks for the thoughts of yesteryear..............ty for posting

  • so many people saying they feel old now... im probably the one of the only few kids in my generation to ever hear of the plimsouls @_@

  • i'm 17 and i love the plimsouls!!!

  • Love this song and I love this band!!!! And yes, I'm old and I won't trade places with anyone. It was great being young during the 80s jamming out to new wave songs! THanks for posting!

  • I have always loved this song. The music reminds me of The Byrds.

I know, I know, I am dating myself.

  • Do we all look this bad? Aging...

  • OMG I was the biggest Plimsouls fan back in the '80's. I was fresh out of high school and had a raging crush on Peter Case. Damn, this video makes me feel so old. I have a so many great memories of chasing The Plimsouls all over L.A.

    Thanks for sharing this.

Does anyone have any old video footage of them from back in the 80's? Would love to see some of it!

  • Valley Girl Flashback!

  • Great song

    lose sat 14 look

  • Great song by a great band and yes I do feel old now that I'm 37.

  • Feeling old.....

  • Holy shit!!!!! Where did the time go and how did I get this old? Too many memories.

  • The feeling creeps worse in me as I hear they are playing the song as tightly as 25 yrs ago. Thought this vid had the original playback behind!!

  • They were fricken AWESOME in the movie Valley Girl starring 18yr old Nicolas Cage!!! AAHHH the memories!!! DAMN!!!

  • Still sound great 25 years after!!!!

  • I still have 3 copies of the Album "Everywhere at Once" sealed in original wrap.....started off with 6 of them in 1983.....

Nothing so good as these guis on vinyl!!!!

  • I wish I had the vinyl. I have cassettes. About worn them out. Helluva album. I agree, vinyl still rocks. .even in the age of digital

  • The Plimsouls still kick ass!! When and where were they performing?
