Those Hydremas are ok to drive but throw you about a bit. 10 mph over a little bump and you nearly hit the roof. also has anyone else had the problem of having to keep blowing grass out of the radiator behind the seat or else it overheats??
Chains definitely do flick. I was getting my land rover defender 90 towed out of a pond, when the chain snapped it flung straight back towards me straight over the roof rack and came through smashing the back window and whipping the roof. So there defiantly volatile as hell.
I work in the coal mines of Wyoming and a Guy at the mine next to us had a chain thread perfectly through the window and in his head killed the Guy there is a reason why MSHA regulations state you use straps for alot of things
That digger operator has skillz. I like the way they first push, then try to counter the rocking motion that could cause it to tip the other way... 5* to that operator
Dude in the blue either has balls of steel or is extremely ignorant of the impending death he so closely stands to.... That cable could have very well snapped and cut him in two.

So true. I don't know about everyone else but, I sure as hell wouldn't want to operate something that's bouncing around like crazy and heavy enough to crush two full-sized pick ups.
I wouldn't be standing anywhere near the rear of the vehicle in case the chain snaps. Too many times snatch straps on 4wd's have broken and injured close by people.
the dumbass blue shirt man shouldnt stand too close. Imagine what happens if the wire breaks when the other dumper was pulling it. Decapitated man ^^"
On my job site once a 40 ton CAT Articulated truck the bed fell over. Instead of callin the Hoe to come flip his bed back over cuz there slow..haha..my boss hooks up a chain to the back of the D8 and tells me to pull his bed over. Was workin good for about 3 seconds and the chain snapped and it sounded like 50 12 gauge shotguns goin off at one time..lucky no one was hurt and there were about 5 people standing around! Soemone head could have been cut off! My boss=idiot but pays well so fuck it!
@TheRetiredtrucker you are clueless with this statement. 15 years in mass excavation as an seen more than one chain snap. Tell my coworker that chains just fall. While uprighting an volvoa40d with a cat d6, the a "Tagged" chain snapped and left an "S" on the fuel tank right below the window. That one was a close call. To say that chains fall is obviously a statement from someone that just doesnt have a clue. Rated chains and heavy tonnage can spell disaster so you have to keep clear.
@shortthrow50 Seen several chains break also. , pulling a timberjack out of a rutt two weeks ago broke a 3/4" schedule 8 chain.... and like always,,,,the chain fell to the ground. over 20 years with heavy equipment, cranes and hoists have NEVER seen or heard of chain recoiling. Have seen cable di it tho
@TheRetiredtrucker only a moron would think about taking a chance like that. Just get the hell back, none of your coworkers really want the memory of your empty head splattered all over if something were to happen.
@TheRetiredtrucker so I have a retired truck driver telling me about physics? You go ahead and be the idiot to stand next to a chain with that kind of load, I'll be a standing way back with 911 on stand by to send the coroner to pick your lifeless body up off the jobsite.
im gonna clear something up for u i know u posted this 7 months ago but that is a back hoe not a excavator the person who put this on here is dumb for saying that
Should try not to do that anymore... might save some money.
