  • とにかく楽しんでるよね!。もっと長生きして欲しかった!。

  • o h man, i gotta step my game up

  • I love it More Cowbell!!!!!

  • some idiot gave this a thumbs down? damn this is so damn good! ungh!

  • if you can find the recording of `blue rol', you will hear the coolest, sexiest song ever created in the jazz idiom.

    roll on, mr. kirk

  • ..geniale! grandissimo musicista, mi dà una carica enorme!

Ian Anderson - con il suo flauto - non si è inventato proprio un bel nulla! (e questo in pochi lo sanno....).

Ian Anderson is nothing comparing to Roland Kirk!

  • @Alexmevi Anderson did admit that he was heavily influenced by Kirk.

It's all good, if you're going to rip off a musician, rip off the best!

  • Grazie Roland, un pezzo che mi fa venire una carica immensa, ogni volta che lo ascolto.

  • quite simply the nicest thing i ever did done saw!

  • Man, my grandma was a better musician than this guy! She could play FOUR saxophones at once, two tenor and two alto, played a recorder with each nostril and blew a tuba with her ass.

    Ha ha!

That's pretty much what you'd have to do to top this guy! And I didn't even get to the mouth noises.

His band was pretty damn funky, too.

  • @sex6cult9revolution yer right m8! the band are incredible, back then backing bands and singers had to be top notch, unlike now..! these people the nhad more talent than any group now!

  • This is the DEAL.

  • Great tune by a master! He also quotes Holiday for strings by David Rose at 3:18...

  • Kirk was just too heavy for most folks- there will never be another jazz man who has explored "sound" like RRK.... he is sorely missed...

  • great upload

  • awesome for all life.. so great

  • Jimi Hendrix was influenced by Kirk and spoke highly of him. They reportedly jammed on 3/8/69 @ Ronnie Scott's Club in London, and Jimi recorded ALL of his jams!!! *****(((((10)))))*****

  • is this something which is you listen to somewhere?

  • @BeenBad4U yo! how can i get ahold of that, i love them both so much

  • Great scene, that bass player ... he plays there like 'You can do what ever crazy stuff ... you won't beat me!' ... tight playing on cool.

  • uno de los grandes de toda la historia... hay que ver en que epoca el tipo ya tocaba cosas que hasta ahora dificilmente podemos ver

  • Its the best piano player that you never actually see on the screen

  • ahhh heaven! just pure and utter heaven! bright moments to u all...

  • who is the lineup with RRK?

  • Excellent music and all, I think these guys look so cool, relaxed and confident. I remember those days when it was cool to walk around with an instrument (one of my motivations for playing the sax) these guys had a truly positive influence. I'd like to see more contemporary musicians pick up a real instrument.

  • He is a very great spiritual artist

  • roland kirk for president!!

  • Bobbi Humphrey sux...It was nothing but pentatonic boredom. Harold McNair wasn't bad, he played with Donovan Lietch (of Sunshine Superman fame),"Preachin' Love"..I think 1969, but nuthin' special.

  • COME ON NOSE LET'S DO THIS

  • this track is on his best selling recording, the live

"bright moments" 1974 or a live from Hyena records

  • Most funky

  • Roland Kirk... What an amazing musician!!!! he's one of the gurus bothly whith Coltrane, Dolphy,...

  • KIRK is GREAT! I heard a claim that he could breathe out of his ears. Circular breathing is so hard!

  • Nose flute?!!! LOL, Great

  • nose flute is gangster.

  • I'm still blown away by the brilliance of Rahsaan Roland Kirk.

The thought of playing 3 instruments simultaneously, the seemingly impossible feat (in my view anyway 'cause I can't do it) of circular breathing, and the innovative ways to make music, such as using the nose to play a flute.

    Simply mind-boggling.

  • Brilliant, and nothing less. A musical tip for those who like this flute/funk style is Bobbi Humphrey!

  • Bobbi Humphrey was the first flautist I took seriously, from the LP 'Dig this'. Only female flautist I've seen do recordings! 'Japser country man' and 'Harlem river drive' are her best-known.

I also highly rate the artist Harold McNair (with John Cameron).

  • Excelente Musico y asombrosa calidad.

Si! trar ri ra ra ra le li tra tara dudu yeah!

  • An amazing talent -- he took all the winds and make them speak his language!

  • that's the groove. Thanks for posting this...if only people made music this funky today.

  • Fantastic! I love this funky groove with bari sax and nose flute. Who were the other musicians? Is that Mattathias Pearson on bass and Rahn Burton on piano?
