A friend had invited me in and flew me in from ATL to D.C. just for this competition - I was stunned! Didnt know HOW MUCH our roots really are shared through some many people from Africa!!!! I also enjoyed the group from ATL (represent)! It was a wonderful show/event - I would definitely fly up to see it again!!!
I went to this competition - I am of Jamaican descent - I'm a dancer but I mainly used to do dancehall - and one girl stood out over every body - she was a part of the Bana ba Africa - she is the one in the middle on this click at the beginning of the bana ba africa dance - her presence was awesomely ridiculous - I can't believe I found these clips - I've been looking for some type of video for this for two years and just ran across it her on you tube - How often is this held?
