Comparing the Q7 to the Q5 is a little silly the Q5 is a 5 seater and the Q7 is a 7 seater, it's in the name also with 7 people the Q7 still has more boot room. There are certain things you get on a Q7 you can't on a Q5. I would personally buy the Q5 though, filling up all 7 seats often is not going to happen in such a luxury car + the shorter wheel base of the Q5 gives it better off road abilities

We have noticed a huge surge in people purchasing the Audi Q5 over all it's competition. So much so that UK dealers demand for the car has far outstripped supply therefore delivery times are now an average shocking 5-6 months. You would think Audi would just make more of them…

Sienna wasn't saying that it had no ignition, it was just lacking the key _in_ the ignition wich isn't all that unusual anymore with all the keyless-go systems around.

The Q5 key have a chrome backside so it would be easy to spot if it actually was in the ignition.

Like BMW (with their X3) and Mercedes (with their GLK), all Audi did was take a Q7, photocopied it under 75 percent magnification, and out came this little thing.

Sure you could call it a compact SUV, but in reality, Europe would probably call this a tall Hatchback. So in essence, this is a way to PAY too much for a European Hatchback.

Its a nice car, but you might as well get an Audi A4 sedan, wagon, an Audi S4. Add a lil more money and you could get an A5 coupe, or even a used Q7.

we've had ours since february 2010, was a test car in germany with 7000 kilometers on it. it's a 2009 black one with brown leather interior and the 4 cylinder 2.0 tfsi engine 211hp :) it's truly a GREAT car the combination of that engine with the 7 speed s tronic it's like a bullet, especially considering the size. before we had a 2006 volkswagen touareg and to be VERY honest sometimes we still miss it for the extra space but this car is still an extreme good car :)

I love the Q5, but the price is very off-putting. Bottomline, for the best bang for your buck, consider the Infiniti EX or the Acura RDX (the front grille grows on ya, trust me).

My wife and I looked at the Q5 based on this review and were not prepared for it's excessive price. Face it Audi, this is an RDX/X3/EX35 fighter. It's not in the league of the X5, no matter pricing it as such. We're buying the Acura RDX, but the Rav4 v6 was very tempting for an $8k savings. That RAV4 outperforms all of luxutes. If they repackaged it as a Lexus with Lexus interior components and technology, it would wipe the floor with the competition in EVERY single way. Kinda sad.

Just got my Q5, its soo much more luxurious than RDX...RDX felt like more like a high tech toy to me.

Reviewer needs to get his facts straight about the Q7 - it was not designed to be any better off road then it is. It's not supoosed to compete with a Defender or even a Range Rover offroad. The 3.0 TDI is hugely efficient. As for space? I ferry a family of 6+ around in it very easily - it has tons of space.

Sorry, I agree with the reviewer. When you compare the Q7 to a normals large SUV such as the Ford Edge or Chevrolet Tahoe, it doesn't use its dimensions very well. Also, he is referring to the Q7 being a luxury car, so the Quattro with all the control systems and what not is overkill cause no-one will likely take one off road. Also, Audi IS going to change the Q7 for 2012 and it will be smaller and more agile.

To the people who think the Q5 is pointless, I have two words for you... GROUND CLEARANCE. As an owner of an A4, I am seriously considering the Q5. I love that my A4 is capable of getting around in the snow. It's great in the light snow and sleet. But when the heavy snow comes down, my A4 is, as you would say, "pointless". The Q5 would be like having my cake and eating it too. I still get the great Audi experience, along with the ability to navigate through heavy snow.

An utterly useless car. Makes no sense what-so-ever. Why not just go and buy a normal audi estate? More space, much less ugly, and yes, it can also travel on non-tarmac surfaces.

I feel sorry for anyone who bought this car. And 99% of people who buys these disaster vehicles q5, q7 and so on drives no more offroad than any other family.

The XC90 makes sence because that has 7 seats and room for dogs etc at the same time. And you dont want a family van for obvious reasons.

Q7 not roomy, i test drove 4.2 TDI the car is the best SUV out there. What Limousine Is In Cars, Audi Q7 Is In SUV. The best SUV today biggest nicest looking and quality off read is as good as Range Rover. 3.0 TDI 4.2 TDI and monster of 6.0 TDI comfort class off road and on. AUDI - Truth in Engineering, Vorsprung durch Technik.

they both are good!!! but it depends on your needs. the q5 being lighter will be more fuel efficent. but its only is a 5 seater, q7 can seat 7 people but is heavy and less fuel efficent when compared to q5. q5 becuase of its dimensions will be a little easier to park in tight spots!

I bought myself a Q5 two month ago ...and my wife has a Q7 ....a week ago left my Q5 for some repair ...during the week was driving my old A6/2001 :))) ....I like A6 more , now considering to loose some money and trade Q5 in :))) to buy a new A6 :))) like 3.0L supercharger ...maybe with few thousand on odometr :)))))

you are soo in audi man, audi is good and i have S4 but you should try mercedes too, now i wouldnt get the A6 if i were you, cuz its just ugly(talking about the exterior) and they are going to redesign the whole thing next year so if you still want A6 you better wait a year cuz it will look like the new A8, other thing you can go for the mercedes E class, its pretty close to the A6 and costs the same, and dont forget this fall the new 5 series will be out so just take your time
