when you want to hit a six or four by stepping out then press shift+d and when you want to hit a six or four without stepping out then press shift+s. but don't forget to press the arrow keys for shot direction. press the arrow keys and then shif+d or shift+s immidiately. (for llllllrrrrrr ).

these cricket games suck ass..all bowlers have that same awkward style where they run to the pitch and change their tempo right before before bowling..bowling speeds are slow as well..womens cricket shows bowling ten times faster than this piece of shit...why cant they make em like soccer, basketball, baseball games where the speed and motion resembles that in real life

yea ... it depends if the batsman is righthanded or left handed, the buttons are always shift and S, with up and left is batsman is right handed, and up and right if left handed, so for a right handed batsman, a reverse sweep is SHIFT-S-UP-LEFT ...hope that helps

argh i hate ea cricket! u can play the perfect shot for the ball and it will NEVER go past the feilder unless your playing against a friend with manaul feilding. i have 05 and it looks like this game does exactly the same thing. a lot of the time the best thing to do is, if its not hiting the stumps then move away and late cut it, or try and hit it square, or sweep. the problem with this is that neva get rewarded for excellent cover drives, straight drives etc, its too hard!

i had cricket 2005 for the ps2 and it looks the same...except for a few changes in the intro of the game...they really need to improve the gameplay! i dont understand why they dont improve it...games like FIFA are created every year and they have drastic improvements...ea cricket releases games every 2 years yet it pretty much SUCKS! they needa improve it BIG TIME!!!!

Although '07 was a much improved game - it was still bad. I could hit 30 an over on the hardest level within 90 minutes of buying the game (yes scores of 1500 are not just possible they are really quite easy)

I mean what sort of game is that - when you can utterly destroy it within 90 minutes of opening the wrapper ?...I'll tell you what I call it...a CRAP game.

good for you but i play real cricket and it involves alot of patience if you really want to you can try and smack everything but you dont i think the designers worked it hoping people might use the 6 hit button if its a little wide or high but not ride it for a straight pitch ball or yorker try letting go of the 6 hit button it becomes more interesting trying to hit 4s try turning the aiming circle off that makes it a bit harder too.

Yes I play real cricket to. I have done for over 30 years (i'm 41).

In real life it does involve a lot of patience...in EA cricket it doesn't. I plsy without the circle, and play from the batsmans POV.

On hardest level It is quite easy to bowl a side out for about 30 (sometimes less than 10)

It shouldn't be the players job to "hobble" the game to make it more realistic..it should be the designers job to make it realistic in the first place.

The correct shot for many of the deliveries would be an off drive or front foot cover drive. Invariably straight to a fielder...who invariably stops it.

You end up inventing shots to score runs, like stepping outside off to clip to leg. Maybe ok for 20/20 but endless repetitions of Richie saying "Stopped in the covers" ?

I quite like the game, but it needs balancing. It's not our job as consumers to fix it..and let's be fair it's been this bad (or worse) since the rather good '97 version

on the ps2 to reverse sweep make sure it pitches outside off then use six hit back foot and point the shot diagonal on the analouge sticket(north west) if the ball is in the right place it will work but if not u will defend it

all u have 2 do on this game is move so your gaurd is outside off and smack it for six over square leg every time (but make sure you have a batsman in like kp or freddie or you will probably mistime the ball and get caught)
