Notice that in the first commercial it was obviously intended for the Japanese market but they're using a NES (instead of a Famicom, which was an entirely different animal than its North American relative).

Because of ubiquitous Famicom-related piracy in East Asian countries (famiclones), Hyundai (then-publisher and distributor of Nintendo games for the south korean market) opted to release the western version of the console instead of the japanese one.

American NES system design also hit European and Latin American countries.

The sad thing is, that with the new more realistic games now a days.(which I play)The imagination that these games sparked will never be reproduced, I dont think their popularity will be the same as well. Halo is good, but will not be remembered like Sonic, Mario, or that first zelda. The commercials now a days arent as good either. I'll even bet that people now a days dont have the same great time as those two in the last commercial did. played hundreds of madden 93-95 with friends as a kid.
