  • Those looke lik 305 headers correct me if im wrong

  • Man what's the specs on this engine build I'm building a 350 for my 84 pickup and would like some pointers for my build

  • chevys are better in some ways and others are better in some ways, i know for a fact a old school chevy will throw the crank be for any Windsor or Cleveland does, seems a lightly modded sbc has lasted me a week and the rods are clapping tops

  • You say Mopar engines are better? I guess that's why they win so many NASCAR races, eh?? LOL

  • ah burnt yur jacket on the header??

  • how much does it cost for a new 350 built from the ground up looks for a price? cause i want to throw a 350 in my toyota thanks

  • Hey bro shoot me an email! I may have ya build me one, but I need a price? It'll be for a 1988 GMC Jimmy S15!!!

    Fmurray_@hotmail.com

  • POS - GET A FORD

  • what was your crank hp and trq? i'm curious cause i'm currently building a 450 hp at crank and 445 trq and was trying get a guess on 1/4 time....3000lb truck

  • hey, im a beginner looking for a motor to rebuild. i have a 305 sitting in our garage. its free, but ive heard that 305s are crappy engines. or i can pick up a 350 for cheap. im not looking to modify, just it get it thrown together so it runs. what should i do?

  • @crazytacostudios i got a 305 in a s10 pickup that turns 11.20s

  • Sounds good to me

  • @JestersWord75 yeah i agree that is a sweet throttle response, :D

  • dude u going to flood that baby :(

  • excellent tuning work

  • monster, but im not a fan of immediate idle is what i call it. onece you rev, its like a motorcycle, as soon as you let off the throttle, its back down. who am i kidding, i dnt like immediate. but man you just brought me closer to lovin that motor a shame you sold it, i wouldve seriously gave you 6500 easy

  • what carb is on this?

  • haha 2 header bolts on this side

  • @1961pontiac cause the other ones are black..

  • @1961pontiac No, they are all there, the others are allen head bolts and the two you see are just stanard hex head bolts.

  • @my3406cat yea hook the positive on battery to the hei distributor and the positive up to the starter and then a ground then jump the starter wit a screwdriver

  • sounds sweet

  • what kinda mufflers?

  • this sounds good what kind of cam was in it??

  • nice motor man

  • so whats all done to it. what cam that kind of stuff maybe you can help me. i'm 16 and am trying to build a sbc 350 for a truck i'm working on. its not that i want power but that sweet sound. whats the cheapest thing to change to get that sound. thanks the engine sounds sweet. nice work.

  • ok, this is something im actualy doing right now, i just have one thing that im not very sure about. i have a HEI disturbuator and there is only one wire that goes to it, now can i hook that straight up to the battery for ignition power? becouse its marked on the coil cover that wire plugs into says ...batt +, so im guessing thats right?

  • great sound!!!

  • amazing throttle response

    jees!

  • how do you bolt a starter up with out a bell housing?

  • how mutch hp?

  • how long can an engine be run without any coolant before it gets critical? i have an engine i want to start but how long is too long without water? i get the idea it will be ok for maybe 5 mins. is this the limit? thanks. mike s. p.s......that's one nice sbc!

  • Badass motor. Did you notice There is aways Chevy Motors LOL You never see a Ford or Dogde because they all suck. CHEVY POWER!

  • @Learnthethingsido they dont suck, but chevy engines are much cheaper to buy and tune, the good mopar engines are a LOT better than chevy engines, and Ford v8's has awesome sound but cost a bit too much, thats why chevy engines are so populare, they arent as good as the good mopar engines, but they are cheap and they can take a serious beating without problem, they are cheap to maintain and cheap to tune, but i gotta say i would love to have a 1965 389 pontiac engine in a rat!

  • @1PSYTEX1 well if they cost less for your power and take a hard beating i would say that they are better

  • @Learnthethingsido nothing wrong with ford or mopar engines

  • my brother who is a longtime machinist built his wissota mod motor for under 2000 bucks and it makes 661 hp at the fly wheel

  • I gotta goodwrench crate 350 with an edelbrock performer intake and holley 600 or 650??? cfm offroad carb and would LOVE to get it to sound like this... any ideas?

  • DOES THE HEADERS GIVE IT A BETTER SOUND AND POWER AS WELL. I HAVE A 350 BUT NO HEADERS YET

  • @219MONEYMIKE Headers will give a better sound, but headers alone will barely increase power if at all in some cases. And if you don't believe that look it up. Its been tested time and time again.

  • @219MONEYMIKE

A good set of headers will improve power also. You can generally expect 10-20 hp on a modified engine depending on application. Stock engines will have some increase but not as dramatic.

  • hi this engine noise was used a lot in the series nascar racers engine 350 is an awesome you did an awesome video good week

  • how much did it cost you to build this motor? i wanna put one in my malibu ;D

  • I like the throttle response !

  • @BMGBOX Of course its going to have quick snappy throttle response. Bolt on a torque converter or a flywheel and it wont be so snappy.

  • @maxum2300 youre saying there isnt a flywheel on there now? hows he starting it?

  • @The75vette You better read my comment again. I said bolt on a torque converter or a flywheel. You can see it has a flexplate by how thin it is as the camera is looking straight at it. There is a big difference between a "flexplate" and a "flywheel". Add some weight to the back of crank as in bolting on a "flywheel" and clutch instead of the "flexplate" or bolt a torque converter and auto trans to that "flexplate" and it wont be so snappy.

  • @maxum2300 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @The75vette You asked a question and I answered it and thats how you respond. Very nice.

  • @maxum2300 If you have an auto trans and have it in neutral or park, the converter used the liquid inside it to almost free spin without spinning the tranny. It doesn't rob much power at all.

  • @TheEdrooney Its about the added weight and mass of the torque converter or clutch, pressure plate and flywheel in the case of a manual trans. Add the weight of the fluid in the torque converter and its upwards of 30lbs. This engine is running on a stand with an auto trans flexplate that weighs less than 5 lbs. If you went out to your car or truck and crawled under and removed the bolts connecting your torque converter to the flexplate and started the engine it would rev just as quick.

  • @TheEdrooney Plus this engine has no accessories on the front

  • I like the throttle response !!! RAWYRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !

  • bullll shit 11.85 no way

  • Sounds good man

  • Hey man, I know this might sound kind of stupid but would it be cheaper to buy everything separately (block, heads, pistons, etc) and build an engine yourself... or is it cheaper to go out and get a crate motor that's already been put together?

  • @ncn8ochaser Crate motors are crap, they charge you like $5,000 for what you can do yourself for like $2,500!

  • @AxonHilock That's what I was thinking, brother. I just looked at my Summit catalog... holy shit. I did some QUICK math (not perfect) but a Blueprint Engines Chevy 355 crate motor, 10:1 compression will run you nearly $3,500. You can build the same motor yourself for around $2,000. Some of these guys are going for $10-20,000 a pop! Shit, Nelson Racing Engines builds TUNED motors that are THREE TO FOUR times more powerful and even better looking for the same price!!

  • fuck ya! small block layin the smack down yayayayayaya

  • damn that thing is snappy i would love to have that in my muddrag truck

  • hey man im 16 and building a 357 to make a 3500 pound camaro run high twelves what would you recommend

  • WHATS DONE TO IT

  • 1:08 to 1:16 = small block chevy orgasm!

  • Nice..i been wanting a 350 for the little toyota pickup i drive.

  • god that sounds tight.. beautiful

  • sounds good

  • do you know what compression that motor was at?

  • what kind of horse power was it makin what was your cam lift

  • i have a 350 chevy stock motor in my 1985 cadillac seville also stock if i put i twin turbo kit on it do you think the car could handle it.

  • you look like the dude from hostel 2 who takes that chick on the boat...lmao nice engine tho

  • and fuel tables i believe "guess" above 5500 in computer... not even really tunable... might wanna check on this one though.. goin by memory

  • tpi pukes below 5000, even with hsr doesn't work above 6.. tpi for mostly mild cammed small blocks below 6000 or boosted engines..

  • if your gonna really comment on posts then we should actually know wtf we are talking about. the guy in the video is rioght. if you choose parts wisely and know what works you can build any motor for power not hard. recipe#1; 1 pc real seal 350 block factory roller+gen2 265 crank and rods using factory 350 pistons + 302cid sbc factory roller 4blt main with 1.9r/s ratio will spin 7k all day add tpi and you got a screamer you can program from a laptop.

  • funny thing is they use al the same internals, just like amc 327cid is chevy innards, and ford distrubitor. kinda wierd how they mixed and metched parts in amc.

  • stocker

  • A chevy 350 is a smallblock(sbc) and a buick 350 is a big block(bbc)

  • @marcoracing94 there is no such thing as a 350 big block. there was a 348 big block back in the days though but no 350 big block.

  • ahh, beg to differ about the big block quote. u forget about the olds 350 rocket motor. they have a 10.2" ctr line to ctr line measurement from crank to cam.

  • differences from small block to big block is deck height. another odd tech note for all who are not aware is.. all amc motors are the same dimensions , can put any amc motor in any v8 amc car. swap idea: amc hornet 2dr with 401 cid with 4sp and the rearend out of a mid 70's dodge pick up narrowed and installed power to weight ratio + scared to death, just a lil thing i have road in, quite the ride

  • yep thats a 350..

  • Comment removed

  • haha tell me how it feels being such a little bitch that dude would beat your punk ass if you said that shit to his face!!! haha thats so funny you talk shit on youtube!! if you were there you would have said nice motor and kept your bitch comments to yourself lol

  • Are those Accel 8mm wires I see?

  • Any motor will tach up great and quickwith nothing on it!!!!!!

  • nice sounding 350 :]

  • there is a difference between a flex plate and a fly wheel. flywheel is for a manual tranny, flex plates are for automatics. looks like he had a flex plate on, because flex plates are lower profile. i don't think he could fit a flywheel between the space on the stand and engine. and flywheels weigh alot more too.

  • the smoke is being cased by the oil on the headers burning off when they get hot

  • awesome engine, currently building one myself. What are the specs on this, cam size, heads, intake etc. Any help would be awesome thanks.

  • hey amtronic did u see a water pump on it? what was that smoke/steam i wonder do you think cuz it wasnt a automatic it was getting hot or maybe smoke from the new parts???..lol

  • no steam from the water in the block being feed by the hose threw the side of the block

  • its got no tranny on it dumbass how are you going to tell if its a automatic!!! what a f&*king moran douchbag!

  • Lol you can tell if it was an automatic or manual. Depending if the flywheel has a friction surface on it for the clutch disc or if it's just a plain flywheel with nothing on it except the teeth.

  • It revs so fast because there is no clutch or pressure plate on the flywheel (or torque converter, can't tell if it's an automatic).

  • Comment removed

  • well it sounds like the insides are aftermarket aka "lightened up" VV

  • i wanted to put headers on my chevy but dad said its too low, cause the previous owner had lowered it. now i see why! my truck is currently equipped with an aluminum edelbrock intake manifold dual flowmaster mufflers, spectre high flow air filter and aluminum edelbrock valve covers! it sure is a pretty truck.

  • you can put headers on it still they have short tube headers :D

  • just whack some turbos on it that will be even better

  • they all have pretty good throttle response when theres no Torque converter or Flywheel on the back, only a ring gear. But this thing does sound very nice!!!!

  • Watch a video on here called "tight rev" and report back here.

  • that has a flex plate on it :P

  • sounds beautiful!

  • i bought 72 chevy 350 lt1 for $400 with a trans from a lady who didnt even know what it was. turns out, it has a new crank and pistons and has never been bored. runs like a champ and only cost me a few hundred.

  • well lt1's are junk no offence opti spark ftl

  • hey man can i get some specs on the internals? i love the response this has and would like to know what kind of heads/size valves/pistons/rotating assy/block/ignition that you used here. thanks!

  • I love the throttle response i can not get this kind of response on my 350 sbc

  • Do you have any other supports on the engine aside from the stand.. I've got the same type of stand an would like to start my engine on it.. But I've wondered about more support.

  • if you watch the video look at the motor mounts youll see 2 1 inch round tube bars..i have the bolted to the engine mounts then bolted to the engine stand i welded 2 mounts to the legs of the stand to bolt them to...i used my engine stand and the engine crane to lift the pressure of the stand and made my bars that length so is balanced out the wieght as in a real application

  • Ahhh.. I see that now. Great idea, I'll probably be doing the same myself then.Thank ya very much! Beautiful engine by the way, you do really good work! :)

  • look in my other video ans you can see the supports better

  • its an older style block it really dont matter to me what it is bored where i get my engines bored at its the same price no matter how much its bored ill probably do 40 over i was just wanting someones input that knows more than i do about engines

  • heck i can get 350 blocks anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars a piece and i just got a 350 2bolt main block for 50$ thats been bored 30 over but it needs rebored so im gonna get it bored either 40 or 60 over

i dont really know yet tryn to figure out which would be best

  • only do 40 over 60 is too much if the block is 85 up...u can do 60 over on a older block but still have a posability of haveing a issue of the block getting to thin and over heating

  • screw the haters sweet motor love the sound. what is it going in?

  • i sold that actually..and the other one on the stand painted black is in my monte ss...im building another one...thats going to have alot more snot...should shut all the lil bitches up...may be not LOL

  • any moron that would run an engine with no water in it should have his tools taken away. And for the record just about any engine with a set of headers on a stand sounds good hook you tranny and everything else up and it wont sound so bad ass

  • well jerk off i did have water running to it with a garden hose on the other side....and thats why steam was coming from the engine when it got hot...where did you think the steam came from osmosis

    ----- Original Message -----

  • you can see the garden hose on the grass going to the stand and the water ever so slightly come from the front of the engine...

  • I have reviewed your video again and see the hose but no water. Anyone with a half of brain would know with out water circulating through the engine hotspot occur rapidly in the cylinder heads. So you still should have your tools taken away!

  • whar heads r on there cam ? soild roller? hyd.? specs plz and what kind of hearders r thos? if u dont mind me asking cuz it sounds great

  • i bet you couldnt take em from him.. i bet you wouldnt do shit and thats why you get on here to voice your opinion. cant stand punk bitches like you

  • I have that engine in my jeep cj5 :)

  • neighbors proly feel like mine do. wishin i would die. man thats a bad ass chevy... whats in it..... and whats ur timing set at

  • Check out my video, can anyone tell me the cam lift, just by listening?

  • No you need more timing

  • the timing is dead on. you must know nothing about engines

  • Yeah your right after watching you 2nd vid I can clearly see trough the black smoke that it is dead on let me guess you are the little douche in the back ground what a newb HEY every one look at MRUnknows vid Lets see if you can tell what cam he has hey mr Unknow whatch my id and see if you can guess mine I think I need new muffler bearings or possiabley a bigger carb

  • Thats why your motor is dumping fuel and is label yz 125 Wow what a dork Hey guys guess what size muffler bearings I have can you tell bye the sound of my dad messing with the timing trying to get the fouled plugs to fire that are out of my 125cc dirt bike yah that right they fit in my 305 with whore tech heads and good muffler bearings Douche Cant wait to see what you say next I will show you a real motor

  • yeah you have about 2 and one half inches of lift and your motor sucks. it revs really slow you do need more timing

  • bet your neighbors love you as much as mine do! HaHa!

  • what mods to it. cam specs? sounds great btw!!

  • hey nudetube you don't believe that motor would run elevens with that set-up?, clearly have never built a small block chevy. HEI is perfectly fine. and yes he can run it on that stand, there is braces to the motor mounts. its shifting the motor around less than it would mounted in a car! a highrise is NOT neccesary to run elevens

  • i build engine all day long what every one doesnt seem to under stand is i set it up with that carb intake and distributor to run it on a "keyword" engine stand..the engine did run 11.85 @114.9 in 2700 pound car and it made 387.5 hp to the rear wheels..it did have a holley double pumper a different intake and a different cam was added after that video because the customer wanted to use it for street and strip...so a solid mechanical was added and it was ran with a 7al and msd distributor

  • cheap chrome stock starter cheap header wow your so observent no highrise but shit...it still ran in the 11's

  • he said he added alot more shit to it to make it u fuckin youtube douche hole. new cam carb and intake makes a big difference! you should change you name to probitch for that one

  • It even has a stock starter!

  • Throotle response? Of course it will have that without any drag on the fly wheel! I do not see msd, I see HEI! That is the worst way to ever run a engine! You can start and idle a motor that way to check for leaks but never rev one free wheeled like that! No hifh rise intake and the headers are cheap! 8.0 accel wires a thin chrome oil pan, no water pump ,no rad ??? Looks stock maybe a cam. It's not much if anything. Sorry just saying.

  • i got the same holley , valve covers , oil pan , MSD ignition , edelbrock camshaft , flowtech exhaust and way more on my 350 , no lies check my vids people .

  • i love the 350 it sound great and i'll pay you to build the same shit

  • not a problem give me an email and we can work something out

  • damn to be doing all that reving it sure does stay awful still....

  • reminds me of my dad thats a real shadetree job good crisp sound on the engine nice job....Back yard engines kick for sure

  • oh forgot to add love your home made engine stand to start engines fucking awesome

  • thats not a piece of shit looks like performance headers, holly caburator running 350 you guys are morons thinking its junk he probaly doesnt have coolant lines or coolant in it so shut the fuck up if you dont work on cars oh and it may have a high rise ? dunno either way its a nice piece putting one in my 84 actually has high rise performance f pump 600 holly 700 transmission 4-10 gears rear end

  • pice of shit

  • why? oh i know why cause you a jerk off leave people alone your comment on mine and the other 350 290 thats what it is and he built it specific but your so stupid you wouldnt understand get a life you fucking moron cant say anything good dont comment

  • i just figuer if your going to show it to the world it should be a little badder

  • pice of shit

  • Build a 350 they arent expensive.

This one has a big cam in it thats why its so rev happy

You can get a 4 bolt main for like 500.00 at a junk yard. Then buy some dart heads and lunati cams and internals

  • were are you buying old blocks for 500$ hell i got some il sell you for that.

  • Looks like mine! haha.

Check mine out! Its a little more badass though! hehe

  • man i want that in my suburban!

  • I dont think it would be the best setup, that engine souds like it would suit a small sports car better. For a truck your gonna need low end torque, that engine sounds like its built for high reving

  • they look like hedman headers

    not shur tho

  • if you see me reach to the back side of the engine i wired up a a keyed ignition switch thats wire very basic with a hot from the battery a hot to the starter from the battery and keyed ignition to the coil and a hie distributor...and you can start it just like a car.i used a 4 leg 1250 stand and made mounts to bolt to the motor mounts to keep it from twisting

  • yea cam heads stroke timing a little bit carb settings if you dont know much you can put a 350 together for just a little change thats what i did to learn i was a bout 12 when i put my first one together dad is a gear head so i grew up on chevys and pontiac's working on a 72 c10 just got the 350 built took some time cause i had no money little at a time got elder rpm heads and intake 750 holley 292 comp cam .490 .490 lift flat top pistons accell fireing system not bad for the money

  • fuckin nice work, sounds mad

  • looks and sounds good.

  • low 11s on a small block? im in! that thing sounds meeaaaan!!!!

  • nice engine.........is it stock 350?

  • stock 350 4 bolt 40 over 202 160 heads 10-1 pistons and a fireball 2 cam 1.5 & 1.6 rockers staggered on intake and exhaust

  • its funny some one builds something and all people do is talk shit wit no knowledge of anything but their mouths i dont care what any one says this motor is probaly balanced very well and is not missing a beat so anyone whos talking shit post a video of your engines you have built and lets hear em nobody appreciates just a good running little 355 or ect they gotta have the big horsepower engines pull dicks outta your asses before you post something negative im sure this guy knows what he is doin

  • mmmmmm smells good

  • transmission has nothing to do with how a motor sounds dip shit cams do and stroke combinations dumbass

  • cam, head, intake, exhaust all of that.....^^mahcbh is an idiot who doesnt know shit about motors

  • that redneck rebuild went 11's jerk off

  • believe it or not its engine paint 1500 degree...the headers need to be clean and debris free i used the 1500 degree primer than the engine black but the secret to it not burning off is after you coat the headers very generously like 3 times with in 20 min or so i take a heat gun and put it in the tube and turn it on and it bakes the finish you need to be carful you dont burn the paint but i do 1 tube at a time till is starts to smoke them from the collector side also hope this helps good luck
