I never liked "Sunshine Your Love" by Cream until I heard it played by Jimi. And when I did, I was like, yeah, that's how the song should sound!

Hendrix would certainly be high in the running for the title of 'greatest', in terms of the status accorded to him by listeners, but that is purely subjective, and fairly meaningless. He may 'take YOUR' mind over', and I'm a fan too, but to some people he is completely uninteresting. They are not wrong to have their preference. To each their own. :-)
